Re: The Little Things Thread
Yes, there is wind, and it definitely affects fly balls. You will be set to make the catch, but the wind will start drifting and you'll have to adjust again to catch it.Comment

Re: The Little Things Thread
I was the Dodgers of course (like always) i hit a lazy grounder between first and 2nd the Astros first basemen underhanded it to the pitcher running to first, but we know Pierre has some good wheels and i tried to drive into first so i could possibly get under the tag, well the pitcher bent over and took a swipe at my arm and tagged me out.
It was cool, all i could do was smile when that happened.Comment

Re: The Little Things Thread
I'm a real stickler for "Little Things" myself (check my thread on NHL 2K9) but for some reason I'm not finding much of them in MLB 2K9, something pretty uncharacteristic of VC/2K.
A few interesting things, though...for example, batters argue with the home plate umpire after a close strikeout (not nearly as much as in "the other game", though).
The collision detection on home run balls is hit and miss, but I've seen home run balls bounce off the gigantic restaurant windows in Rogers Centre and the press boxes in Citi Field. Pretty fun stuff to watch when the ball bounces back in play.Last edited by CarryTheWeight; 03-06-2009, 07:46 PM.Owner of URWL CAW WRESTLING: http://www.rantboard.net/Comment

Re: The Little Things Thread
Just played an afternoon game at Chase feild ( Arizona ) and the shadows on the feild were amazing !
There were times in the game when the shadows from the roof were creeping around the mound and home plate and then slowly coming back into the sun again. Looks awseome !
It looks cool at this ballpark because of the design of the roof panels.Comment

It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

Re: The Little Things Thread
I love the fielding throw modifier. When the ball is hit and rolling slowly toward 3rd base, I can press + hold onto the Left Trigger, then throw to first base which hurries his throw. This makes the throw very hard and also prone to being a wild throw. Really comes handy when trying a tight double-play. Very neat little addition that some people may not know of.Last edited by Alai; 03-07-2009, 12:39 AM.Comment

Re: The Little Things Thread
I don't know if this is really classified as a "little thing" but many of the error animations are quite good. I really enjoyed a couple (happened to me once in the demo as well) that had the fielder bobble the ball, try to quickly scoop it, then boot it further away, compounding his issue. To me, some of the diving/leaping catches and error animations are some of the best animations the game has.
Also, for some reason, pitching with Tim Lincecum is a much more fluid pitching experience IMO than any other. If this game gets patched up on the PC, and I can dive further into it, then Timmy will be on whatever team I control (OR...if they figure out a way to unlock editing on PC, then a CAP will at least have his motion)
