Thanks guys, just got back from gamestop. I bought a game used that didn't even look used for 9.99. Also got my download code for Rome Total War that they didn't give me with empire.....

2k7 was before they started allowing you to download user rosters wasn't it? Was that in 2k8?

I might pick up a used 2k8 if I can download updated rosters. How did the game play after all the patches? I rented it early and never went back.

The only thing that really changed after the patch in 2K8 was the framerate improved. Nothing else changed.

And no, you couldn't download user rosters in 2K8. That was just added this year.

Hey guys...One "Major" thing you have to watch out for in 2K7 is the end of seson lock up in Franchise mode...If you control a team in the east or central time zones...at seasons end it will not allow you to get to playoff's because the westcoast game never gets simulated...The best fix is to user control a west coast team that plays their last season game at home...This way you do not have to worry about the Al simulating it for you and therefore you'll be able to simulate or play the game yourself....the best bet is with the Giants who play their last series of the seson at home....

That should fix the bug and allow you to continue to the playoff's...

I am with you guys and been saying this since 2k8 came out that MLB 2K7 is still to me the best game on the 360 today and the graphics still can uphold another 2 years i think. With the PERFECT SLIDERS this game plays great. I have already planned on doing a FULL ROSTER PROJECT which will include all fake names corrected,me changing the players ages,heights and weights to what they are for 2009. I cant edit how many years pro they played but everything else i think i can edit. I plan on doing a FULL ROSTER OVERHAUL like i said adding pitches to pitchers of what they throw now in 2009,doing complete overhaul of batting stances and pitching deliveries as well. I might see what i can do with giving players ratings increase or decrease for the 2009 season. Last i will try to get all equipment correct,batting gloves,BATS and FIELDING GLOVES all correct as what they should be for 2009. I know this wont be perfect but you can do alot with MLB 2K7 that you cant in MLB 2K9. THe players photos are way outdated in MLB 2K7 and the stadiums will not be updated or the managers being on the right team but i think i honestly can live with that stuff knowing that the GRAPHICS,ROSTERS & GAMEPLAY are better than any baseball game out today. Also i have an idea of giving all 100 TOP PROSPECTS of 2009 all high SOCKS so atleast everyone would know who there top prospects are. The only bad thing is all the regular MLB players that actually wear high socks i might change that so theres no confusion but have made a decision on this yet i want to try and keep it authenic as possible.
Oh yeah i might just stick with all 30 teams 2009 40 man rosters to make this move along quickly so everyone can use these rosters by OPENING DAY.

I enjoyed 2k7. It is beautiful graphically and played a decent game of baseball. However, after having played 2k8 and the demo of 2k9, some changes have made it difficult to play it any longer.

1. The lack of camera angles- how many times do I have to see the same canned animation of my SS flinging the ball side arm to first on a routine ground ball-almost every time. It was the same thing every time. The first few times it was cool. After that it was like, "wait a minute! Didn't I just see that?" It reminded me of 2k5. Needless to say, I enjoy 2k8 and 2k9's fielding camera angles more.

2. Total Control pitching- I love it. Throwing to bases with the RS, also love it. After playing with these, it's really hard to go back.

Now, I've used the sliders on this forum and have gotten 2k8 to play a great game of ball. They take pitches, they throw balls, and they don't swing at everything. I also love being able to play with the total minor leagues. I love to play as my Huntsville Stars. So, for me, I'm happy with 2k8. Now, if I could just find some updated rosters....

MLB 2K8 is a horrible looking game no execptions. Yes those 2 games might have these options MLB 2K7 doesnt but MLB 2K7 runs faster and smoother than both of them put togeather. Also want to add that 2k has already fixed everything in MLB 2K7 and we all already know what to expect in MLB 2K7 in the other 2 games you never know what glitch you will be dealt with. Dont get me wrong again but MLB 2K9 has good ideas and looks a hell of alot better than MLB 2K8 but to me still not as good as MLB 2K7. Commentary in MLB 2K9 is the best ive seen in any baseball game but what i plan on doing is thinking of it like it will be the last game probably that Joe morgan and the other guy will be in so i want to enjoy that,i really dont think there all that bad not as good as the commentary in MLB 2K9. But i dont want to take this route toward commentary just wanted put in my 2 cents on this thread and do what ive have been doing for the last 2 years and defending MLB 2K7.


I dont know if it makes a big difference but I play on a 50' plasma TV HDMI hookup on my 360 elite and the Faces,Ballparks dirt on the uniforms look incredible on MLB 2K7 where in MLB 2K9 the dirt looks like a oil stain from working on your car,the plants,trees etc look fake like a painting or something in MLB 2K9. One more thing in MLB 2K7 they show alot of detail outside the stadiums where in MLB 2K9 you dont see hardly any detail of the stadiums. I do like MLB 2K9 PRESENTATION somewhat with the batboys,coaches and players seeing more of them making it feel like a real baseball game and in my opinion the scenes in MLB 2K9 where they show the coaches hanging on the fence those faces and player models look better than the actual players in the game.

Man 2k7 was good baseball game just some frame rate issues. Since alot of people is heading back to 2k7 i will heading back NBA2k9 until this so called baseball game is patch. Hopefully the 2nd patch will come out early in the season or before opening day. But since there is such a huge problem with game do you think there will be another patch after the 2nd. Because i was thinking the 2nd is going to be huge because of so many missing feature while fixing the bugs in this game that a big patch.

Ok guys sounds good. I will make a thread sometime this week under the ROSTER section. I cant start this project until wednesday but am very excited and looking forward to doing this for everyone.
