Re: What were the Major Issues with 2k7?

Seriously, why aren't more of you guys playing this game?

With the right sliders, and using the 3 step pitching and not waiving off the catcher, you can get some pretty good stats. Seeing a decent amount of walks for both Human and AI. Still a little too easy to hit HR's even with Power at 5, but its nothing ridiculous.

I am sure its got its issues, but I've played about 20 games so far and my games have pitch counts usually over 100 for both teams and see a fair amount of called 3rd strikes and batters working the count.

Use BfnJoes sliders as a base and adjust from there, you'll get some great games.

Re: What were the Major Issues with 2k7?

2k7 was a pretty solid game. However, it is tough to go back because when I recently popped the game in, I was quickly reminded about the "walk" glitch.

I walked 2 guys during the 5th inning (which both scored) and it recorded them as unearned runs. I was really bummed about this and decided to turn it off.

My question is if there is any way to fix this or am I stuck? I agree with Jeffy that this is a rock solid game but I just can't get over the walk glitch. Thanks

I guess thats where ignorance is bliss. I never noticed it or even knew about it. I've also seen errors recorded as hits and those runs got charged as earned so maybe it balances out.

I figure it will all wash out in the end because I amgoing to manage/sim quite a few games.

Re: What were the Major Issues with 2k7?

I popped it in and started a 20-game season with the Tigers using updated 2008 rosters. (I didn't like the 2k9 demo and held off on buying the game because, well, it's an abomination).

Anyway, it's really a decent game. Graphics are good, except that all the players have thunder thighs and fat calves.

The only real gameplay complaint I have about it is fielding. It's tough sometimes to pick up the ball. I have a hard time seeing that white streak, it needed to be more pronounced.

Other than that, my only wish would be that you could play any teams' games within a season rather then being limited to the team you control.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

I've been using classic hitting but man, you can't press up on the left stick or its a HR festival even with power swing and step at 0. I've got the AI pretty much where I want it for their offense and defense but I am lost at what to do about my hitting so I think I'll just do normal swings except when I need a Sac fly and then only press straight up and not up and toward the lines.

I've been playing as well, and it's still a good game. Updated with the 2009 Rosters and haven't missed a beat.

Hey guys, I bought MLB 2K7 last week for the heck of it (got it used for a whopping....7.99, LOL) Basically I am holding off the Show right now waiting on knight's rosters.

Anyway i popped it in just today, and it wasnt too bad. The pitching is atrocious and the fielding is laughable, and I dont care for the blurred graphics effects but it really does play decent.

For 8 bucks, it was well worth it I'd say.

With the PERFECT SLIDERS this game plays great. I have already planned on doing a FULL ROSTER PROJECT which will include all fake names corrected,me changing the players ages, heights and weights to what they are for 2009. I cant edit how many years pro they played but everything else i think i can edit. I plan on doing a FULL ROSTER OVERHAUL like i said adding pitches to pitchers of what they throw now in 2009,doing complete overhaul of batting stances and pitching deliveries as well. I might see what i can do with giving players ratings increase or decrease for the 2009 season. Last i will try to get all equipment correct, batting gloves,BATS and FIELDING GLOVES all correct as what they should be for 2009. I know this wont be perfect but you can do alot with MLB 2K7 that you cant in MLB 2K9. THe players photos are way outdated in MLB 2K7 and the stadiums will not be updated or the managers being on the right team but i think i honestly can live with that stuff knowing that the GRAPHICS,ROSTERS & GAMEPLAY are better than any baseball game out today. Also i have an idea of giving all 100 TOP PROSPECTS of 2009 all high SOCKS so atleast everyone would know who there top prospects are. The only bad thing is all the regular MLB players that actually wear high socks i might change that so theres no confusion but have made a decision on this yet i want to try and keep it authenic as possible.
Oh yeah i might just stick with all 30 teams 2009 40 man rosters to make this move along quickly so everyone can use these rosters by OPENING DAY.
                  sounds good

I've been playing 2k7 for almost two weeks now...waiting for the alleged "patch" for 2k9. honestly, It will hold me until the "patch" shows up. other than some of the fielding animations and the need for more "variety" in the hits, it's really a good game. if I were to rate it, I'd give it a 7.0 out of 10. I think it's absolutely hilarious that so many people are going back two freakin years to play this game instead of 2k8 or the new game. hell, I've even contemplated breaking the piggy bank to buy a ps3 just to play "the other game". as it is, I'm enjoying 2k7, glad I didn't trade it in.....

Just put this game back in using the "perfect slider set" thread's sliders, and man is it tough. I lost 6-1, and struck out 17 times.

It's pretty much impossible to judge whether a pitch is a strike or not, and not being able to check swing when using classic hitting....idk if I can play this much haha.

Re: What were the Major Issues with 2k7?

I changed the sliders to Human contact 35 and Power 20 and batter influence 0. The 1 rule I have is you can power seing but it has to be straight up and not towards the lines. and can only move the directiontal stick to the right to try to hit the ball to the right side with a right handed hitter, but press sideways, not up.

Power stick up towards the lines leads to a HR festival.

Played about the best game of baseball I have ever played last night. Opening day Tigers vs. Blue Jays. Pitchers dual between Bonderman and Halladay. Bonderman struck out 4 and walked 1 over 6 1/3. Halladay stuck me out 11 times, but I drew 6 walks over 8 innings. They took him out after 100 pitches. 0-0 headed into the 8th.

Top of the 8th Frank Thomas doubles in 2 runs off of Joel Zumaya after Mesa had gotten into a jam. Rodney comes in and ends the inning. Toronto takes a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the 9th. Pudge doubles, I pinch hit for Casey with Thames. He beats out an infield single on a diving play by the SS. Monroe Doubles in Pudge, Thames to 3rd. Inge Sac Fly to tie the game. Granderson K's.....And then Polanco hits a Walk-off single into th gap in right center. Tigers win 3-2.

It was awesome, Haladay dominated, but I was patient and made him throw alot of pitches. And then I got to their Bullpen. No HR's hit.

Then I played opening day for the Astros Hosting the Pirates. Ended up losing 5-3. Lee had 2 HR's for the Astros and 3 RBI but that was it. One HR and opposite field blast and the other one was a routine fly ball that got over that cheezy short porch. Pirates Hit 2 HR's as well 1 445' Bomb and 1 that barele cleared the wall at 323 feet. Oswalt was gassed after 7 and left with a 3-3 tie.

But man Minute madepark feels like a little league park compared to Comerica.

I really like this game. Only gripe now is that its hard for the User to issue walks if not trying to miss the plate on purpose. But I give up a couple a game so thats still alright.

I had to get used to the hitting again too, hadn't played a baseball game since 2K7 came out initially. When I popped it back in the 2K9 Rosters, I was striking out like crazy. Mainly because I would swing too early. I've gotten used to it again though and I get a realistic amount of hits now.

Only gripe is that the computer sometimes goes Home Run crazy on me.

You have to hit your spots. I never waive off the catcher and always try to pitch to the webbing of his mit. I use my BP alot because when a guy gets tired or rattled bad things happen.

For the most part I've updated them myself with 2K9's ratings mixed with some of my own (nothing biased). All moves and FA signings are there. Everyone retired is in Free Agency. I'm halfway done adding the proper prospects to all the teams as well.

The only thing that's off is the jersey numbers of the players, but it's no biggie.
