I just dusted off 2k7 and played a quick game, after getting tired of the ridiculously bad gameplay in the 2k9 demo (thankfully, I didn't buy the game).

I agree, 2k7 graphics are good. But I like 2k9's better. The 2k9 player models are much better, as 2k7's don't looke quite as streamlined, if that's the right word. 2k9's stadiums, at least the one I've seen, also looks better.

However, 2k7's gameplay is worlds better than 2k9, at least from the demo. Aside from the aggressive AI in 2k9, it's nice to play a game with good fielding like 2k7. 2k9, the OF have slowdown and drop the occasion flyball. Several times I've had infielders not react to a grounder that should have been snagged. And of course, there's the 1b foot off the bag fiasco that keeps popping up.

The only thing I don't like about 2k7 is the inability to play any teams' games in season and franchise mode.

After getting about 4 games in, I have to say, this is a pretty darn good game.

I don't see the framerate issues that people are talking about. I also don't see the HR problem, I have only hit 1 and I give up around 2 per game. But I can adjust those sliders as needed. I put in some sliders and noticed they are pretty responsive.

I also rearely call off pitches and aim for the catchers glove. My last game, I struck out 7 and Walked 4. Overall very much worth $9.99.

What keeps this game from being great is not only the over-powering Hit-Stick, but being unable to change the Hitting Camera. (Locked after the Patch) It just feels to close.

I wish it was zoomed back a little more than it is now.. I don't know maybe I'm just spoiled by the Adjustable Camera Angles that 2k9 offers.

I wonder If I erase the PATCH, if that would allow me to adjust the camera angles for hitting/fielding again?

I am with you guys and been saying this since 2k8 came out that MLB 2K7 is still to me the best game on the 360 today and the graphics still can uphold another 2 years i think. With the PERFECT SLIDERS this game plays great. I have already planned on doing a FULL ROSTER PROJECT which will include all fake names corrected,me changing the players ages,heights and weights to what they are for 2009. I cant edit how many years pro they played but everything else i think i can edit. I plan on doing a FULL ROSTER OVERHAUL like i said adding pitches to pitchers of what they throw now in 2009,doing complete overhaul of batting stances and pitching deliveries as well. I might see what i can do with giving players ratings increase or decrease for the 2009 season. Last i will try to get all equipment correct,batting gloves,BATS and FIELDING GLOVES all correct as what they should be for 2009. I know this wont be perfect but you can do alot with MLB 2K7 that you cant in MLB 2K9. THe players photos are way outdated in MLB 2K7 and the stadiums will not be updated or the managers being on the right team but i think i honestly can live with that stuff knowing that the GRAPHICS,ROSTERS & GAMEPLAY are better than any baseball game out today. Also i have an idea of giving all 100 TOP PROSPECTS of 2009 all high SOCKS so atleast everyone would know who there top prospects are. The only bad thing is all the regular MLB players that actually wear high socks i might change that so theres no confusion but have made a decision on this yet i want to try and keep it authenic as possible.
Oh yeah i might just stick with all 30 teams 2009 40 man rosters to make this move along quickly so everyone can use these rosters by OPENING DAY.

I have a few questions:

1. Are errors recorded properly? Ordonez dropped a routine fly ball, 2 runs scored and it was ruled a hit.

2. How do I send the manager out for a mound visit?

3. Any way to Hit & Run? Without sending your guy for a steal?

4. Is there a human pitching slider that makes pitching more difficult. It seemed to imply that the human pithing difficulty slider was how hard it was to hit a good opposing pitcher.

2.) Hit the Left Bumper to bring up the lineup card, then go to your Pitcher's name and you can do a Mound Visit from there, as well as make any substitutions, and press Y to view the bullpen from there.

3.) I think the only way to set the runner in motion is with the steal command, but I could be wrong.

4.) You can turn up the speed for the pitching interface to make it harder. Can't remember the exact name of the slider off the top of my head. Also, using Zone or Zone 2 instead of Payoff pitching can be more challenging as well.

Thanks, I just about have a good set of sliders that work for me. With the zone pitching, I couldn't find the plate with some pitchers last night and was really loving that. If you try to hit the catchers location and don't wave him off too much you can really throw alot of balls.

What do you have catcher throw at? Even at 75, I haven't cut anyone down yet with pudge.

When throwing to a base does it take into consideration how long you hold the button down? Or do you just hit the button?

Whats the best camera for fielding and base running? Am I missing something? Appears to be only 2 camera angles, broadcast and Pole or whatever it is. I have problems getting to the ball in the gaps with my OF's and seeing where the ball is in the outfield when I'm on the basepaths. Thanks.

You can't change the hitting camera? I'm pretty sure I changed mine to Zoom and set it at 20 about a week ago I'ma check in a few

Baserunning....Can anyone give me some tips?

Do you use manual or CPU assisted?

I am having a problem getting the runners to move up. I know I can advance them all with the LB, but say you have a man on second and single, whats the best way to send the lead guy home and have the hitter stay at 1st?

Do I hit the runner button before I get to 3rd and then left trigger?

Also is there a way to see where the ball is going to land or if its going to be caught?

Last night, bases loaded 1 down, down 1-0 in the 9th I hit a shot to left field and got Willie Mayes'd with some basket catch. I had no idea if that ball had a potential of being caught or if it was over the OF's head by a decent margin. Ended up scoring from third, but got in a DP because apparantly my runner didn't tag from first as I just hit the LB to advance all because I thought I could make everyone advance but apparantly the runner on 1st wasn't tagging.


Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I find controlling them myself works, except sometimes the computer assist on, or the computer just controls themselves, but other than that I like to make sure I'm in control of the situation, hit a to cycle between the runners, left trigger to make that runner advance

What I meant is you can't change the Camera to more than just Classic & Zoom on Pitch.

There's no other options such as:

Offset
Wide
Wide Low
Medium

For me the camera is too close..
