I hate to say it but this glitch has been in every 2K baseball game, and it still has yet to be fixed. I remember playing world series baseball 2K3 (good game) and having trouble catching fly balls. I wouldn't hold your breath. It seems to be a glitch with the catching animations.

Yea the outfielder will put his glove up to catch teh ball after the ball bounces behind him... its obnoxious and unbearable... at least if you knew when it was going to happen you could just take off backwards to try to keep it from being a triple

Wasn't on the original list? People were screaming about that **** over there. I'm sorry, I like 2K, but this guys sucks as a community manager. He loves to play the "derr....what? I didn't know about that" card.

? I never have a problem with this. Not since the first game I played. I think you're doing something wrong.

I suspect that by "original list" he's talking about the list of things the patch will fix, not the list of things people are complaining about; he's saying "I don't know if that will be fixed" and not "I didn't know that was a complaint." At least that's how I'm reading it.

I hope it doesn't take too long. I have stopped playing this game. I have the PC version and I'm stuck with it until there's a patch. If it takes too long I might lose interest all together, and 2K will have lost a customer. Yes I know it's harsh but this is how a feel, and I'm sure many here do as well.

I must be doing something wrong then, as I've surrendered multiple HRs to the CPU on what I thought were well-executed & placed sliders. I'm talking about low & away barely in the zone or maybe even a bit outside, once even in a 2-0 count when the hitter (Jay Bruce in this case) would almost always be fooled by it or not bother swinging...

sliders they can hit...but try a 12-6 curve...they cant hit the curveball, even a 53 rated one on back-to-back-to-back pitches..

as the above poster said, I cant play this as is and my copy is also just sitting waiting for the patch. I really hope the patch comes through...as I know it won't be adding any new AI sliders for user control customization, so its all up to 2k's whim on how they feel the AI should act at the plate...and this makes me a little nervous..

I know they locked a ton of threads over there when the game came out. Amongst a lot of the complaining were legit issues so who knows what actually got passed on to 2K.

I still think this edit issue was done on purpose to make their "Living Roster" thing be used.

On the list of things that need to get patched, editing batting stances is close to the bottom. They need to fix the gameplay before they worry about cosmetics.

Really? There's a ton of videos online demonstrating the fail that fielding can be. There's a couple of other people having the same problem.

Great news, but I'm hoping the PC version gets the second set of fixes sometime down the road.

Edit: Actually, he may be saying all the fixes will be included in that one patch (day one issues and the new stuff) - I can't really tell.

It's a glitch where your outfielder will be lined up under the ball, and then for some reason the ball bounces off his glove or the fielder pops out of his catching animation, causing the ball to either
                          a)hit him in the face
                          b)roll behind him

Happened to me twice in my last game, both times on Tim Lincecum pop flys. Very annoying bug that cost me two runs.

I hope this is not the case, but I am truly wondering what made them remove the ability to edit stances and deliveries. I do not know a thing about creating video games, so I'm really legitimately curious about what was implemented into 2K9 that took up too much space to allow whatever that thing was and unlimiting editing (stances, deliveries and number of people you may edit altogether) to coexist.

The editing is down the line in terms of problems needing to be addressed, but in the long run I do perceive it as an issue. The inability to update farm systems beyond a handfull of each teams' up-and-comers severly cuts back on replay value. Also, the freedom to create historic teams evaporates with this limited ability to edit.

Glad the online HRs are being addressed. I played online for the first time last week, and me and the other dude combined for 17 HRs. Ridiculous.

bwahahaha that first vid was hilarious. I just paid 60 bucks for this thing last week and so far losing games with scores like 18-2, 21-0, 17-1 etc. Outfielders missing flyballs that turn into triples and homers. I thought it was my inexperience, guess not. Not to mention the rocket line drives the cpu hits and it routinely gets 28 hits a game
