lol bad and ea baseball game never mix in the same sentance unless it is "ea baseball game are never bad" every baseball game that ea made was pretty close to perfection and i personally hate EA sports

Moderators, I'm not trying to be a smartass here, but I feel a need to say the following..

If it was between 2K and EA for a baseball video game, I'd put my money on EA doing it better. I'm only stating my opinion.

I hope 2K cleans up their act this time around with MLB 2K. The PC should have an insane game of baseball by this time. If EA kept making MVP Baseball, I don't know. It's just something I've thought about a few times and it's wild to think about.

Having been at the SCEA studios and having seen how much work goes into making everything "work", I dunno. I was saying last year that we definitely need more than one great game and then this game was released with high expectations. Sorry, but I bought 2k9 TWICE (duh) this year and I played it even less the second time.

Will it be better....I think so. Will it be giant steps...no. I hope guys can hold off until reviews come in (from gamers here, day of purchase), but I know it's hard if you only have the 360. But, buying another mess doesn't help the gamers at all and I'm not sure how much more criticism this game can take before it just folds.

Apparently someone only started playing EA baseball games when they changed the name to "MVP."

Jokes aside, he's right; you just never know. 2K baseball and hockey used to be quite good, NBA live was once considered quite good, etc. Things almost always change.

None of this has any bearing on whether or not 2K's game will be good though. At this point, I'll settle for some consistent improvement...some sign that they're on the right track.

I really think the right thing to do is give up the license now so that other developers can make a baseball game, but it's not about doing the right thing. It's about making money and unfortunately we, especially 360 only owners are suffering for that reason.

This is gonna sound cliche, but they gotta want it. 2K Sports has got to want to create a good game. We've been wantin' it for years now.

They don't want a good game. They keep passin' the poor game to different developers who are probably like, " WTF am I supposed to do with this in the amount of time I have ? "

VC was in a lose/lose situation with 2K9. They had 1 year,probably less then that to get out a baseball game. It had to come out by the release date. Deadlines can be a *bleep*.

I think this year is going to be alot better and alot of the quirks that were annoying should be gone. For me, they just gotta tighten up the fielding some. Fix the darned outfielders dropping the ball glitch and have a few more foul balls.

Oh yeah, the annoying switch hitting exploit that used to irk me.

I think that's forgotten, that it was VC's first year taking over development of the game. As usual on these boards the terms broken/unplayable/horrible get thrown around way too casually - I felt MLB2K9 wasn't as bad as it gets made out to be. But at the same time I'm at best a casual baseball fan. For me 2k9 was just... boring. I still feel the game has a pretty solid foundation to build on:

- the analog pitching/hitting/fielding are all very immersive; don't think anyone's begging they go to a button-press dynamic

- I feel the real-time presentation turn they took last year was very cool and felt new/refreshing. Think they're ahead of the curve w/that, instead of going the cutscene route. The game still seemed pretty boring because of the lack of various camera angles during gameplay, but given what VC has done with NBA2K10 I think there's a lot that can be built on here. Interested to see how they expand on real-time presentation

- The commentary was outstanding last year; again given how far they separated themselves from every other sports game with commentary in NBA2K10, I expect the commentary in MLB2K10 to be at the very least very good. I think Presentation overall will get a nice bump, given the unique walkups added last year give a sense of individuality; something else that can be built on

I agree with others that have said the game doesn't necessarily need to add big ideas/new concepts to this year's game. It really needs a lot of refinement for what they already have in place. Franchise mode has a lot of potential for providing a very deep experience, but needs further refinement. I only played The Show's demo, but from what I've played and what I've read in terms of impressions, the thing about The Show is it's consistency - it's a very solid/refined title - it's not like they've done anything truly groundbreaking to my knowledge. So I think refinement is the way to go. MLB2K10 will get an automatic bump in terms of improved graphics/animations/presentation; it's really a matter of refining what they have in place as best possible and solidifying the base, rather than adding huge big feature ideas

if they would have patched the game mid-season (in the HEART of baseball season) then i could agree with these posts. HOWEVER, it's as if they stopped listening to their fans, and the problems with this game were GLARING and OBVIOUS. i really don't believe they were aware of the issues, or if they were, then what's worse is that they simply ignored their fans. in a world of economical problems and gaming options, that's not a smart move on their part.

yes, they are on to a good thing...but they are also a million miles away from a solid baseball game...let's not forget that or just gloss it over like it's not big deal.

i dont think they stopped listening. I think they listened and put out 1 patch and said, after that, we just have to move on to MLB2K10 and make sure that game is alot more polish then 2K9. Sometimes, you just have to moved passed it, yes, it sucks for the people that paid for the game, but sometimes, decisions are always popular we all know that.

I am just speaking on how i see it, i have no inside information on that. I just understand how things work. This next game, has to be alot more polished and alot more fun. I think everyone knows that. Only time will tell.
