    Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress

I'm in the last week of April and I've started seeing stat overlays from the current season, like where my team ranks in average, hits, etc. I'm first in team average, hits, and 2nd in average with RISP, yet dead last in home runs and runs scored

Finished ST with a record of 11-19 and went on to the regular season opener against Texas. I will say this about my season opener. Rich Harden was untouchable this game. So much so that he took a perfect game into the seventh inning. He finished the game allowing just two hits, as Texas went on to a 6-0 win in the opener. Ricky Romero did not fare so well in this one, giving up five earned on eleven hits over five and a third innings. Hopefully Game 2 of the series will go better.

how you guys even play franchise, with the composure bug in late innings, this is a game killer as far as realism goes.

        is there a workaround?

Game killer? eh...not really. Unless you're in a pitchers duel heading late into a game there isn't even an opportunity for this "glitch" to occur. And even then, when I've been in a pitchers duel where both starters are still in the game headding into the 9th inning the opposing pitcher's pitch count hasn't been over 105/110.

Cannot believe I lost to the Padres just now.

Jonathan Sanchez was pitching, having thrown four scoreless innings to start, and pitching w/ a 2-0 lead thanks to a Freddy Sanchez RBI single and a Buster Posey solo-HR off Jon Garland.

Then the Padres pinch hit for Jon Garland w/ 1 out and a runner on 2nd. Pinch hitter Oscar Salazar sends a Sanchez changeup into LF, tying the game up 2-2.

SD would tack on 2 more in the 6th, and 3 in the 7th, I'd only score one more run, and end up losing to SD 7-3. I was actual pleased to see the CPU offense hit it's stride as SD homered, and hit 2 doubles, en route to 13 hits and 7 runs.

Ok I officially suck at this game, I've now lost 10 out of my last 13 games yet I somehow lead the league in hits, team average, and team era. I hate how the pitching meter moves faster when your pitcher gets tired, and then if you bring in a reliever it won't let you throw any warm up tosses to get used to the new pitcher's throwing meter speed. It just cost me a 2 run HR in a game that I lost by one run

JA Happ might as well not even have a curveball because I let the ring get midway full and it's still a wild pitch.

With that said been playing as the Phillies for a couple games. They have the best record in the league, have only lost one game, are on a 10 game winning streak, and have an overall record of 12-1.

Werth has finally come around. I went 4-4 w/ him in my previous game, and as it stands he's responsible for my only run off Derek Lowe through 6 innings; a solo HR.

Chipper just tied it up w/ a solo shot off Happ...and then the Braves just scored 4 runs in the B6th. Eff! Time to focus.

Sweet, I'm just about in the last week in april, so I should be seeing those soon. I've already seen the division standings(which I love when they show because I always forget to check them outside of games), and how players are doing on the current homestand, last 3 games, etc.

Really love all these stat overlays.

Lost to the mets last night 5-2, that's two starts in a row Dempster has given up 5 runs in 5 innings I'm now 7-6.

                    Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress

Ended up splitting the 4 game series with the mets.

Game 1- Ryan Dempster got knocked around, lost this one 5-2.

Game 2- Randy Wells had a decent performance, giving up 3 runs in 5 innings. My bullpen was the big reason we won, they were able to shut the mets out the rest of the way which was huge because I only scored 4 runs. A-Ram and Derek Lee provided the scoring for me, each with a 2 run blast.

Game 3- I was able to get to Jon Neise and score 2 runs off of him in 2 innings. Then the next pitcher comes in, he's a knuckleballer I absolutely sucked against him, and he pitched 4 innings didn't allow a run and K'd me 6 times. Tom Gorzelanny let up 4 runs in 6 innings. Lost this one 4-2.

Game 4- I dominated this one. Johan Santana vs. Carlos Zambrano. Pitchers duel, right? Wrong, Johan pitched 2 1/3 innings, 4 ER, 4 BB, 3 K's on 55 pitches. I thought it was a little questionable they took him out, but I can't say I am mad because I rocked Shawn Green. I feel bad for him, he pitched 5 1/3 innings, 101 pitches. It wasn't until he gave up a 3 run homerun in the 8th to Aramis Ramirez that he was replaced. Gave up 7 ER, 3 BB. Carlos Zambrano pitched a great game, getting the complete game 8 hit shutout. Won this one 11-0.

Now I'm 9-7. Hope I have better luck against the Brewers this time around, they already swept me once.

Running a test franchise with the WhiteSox for now. Will be running with my Cubbies when we get opening day rosters.

Started out 0-9, but have really turned things around and have got back to a 7-10 record. Just got done sweeping the Rays. Being more selective at the plate now.... lol

What I wanted to post about was that I finally saw an injury at the MLB level. Have seen several injuries in the Minors, but none at the MLB level until now.

Mets put their ace, Mr. Santana on the 15-day DL with a Dislocated shoulder. Before the injury he was 3-0 with a 1.66 ERA and 18 K's.

Haven't seen any injuries yet in games that I'm playing.

I ended up taking 2 of 3 VS the Yanks. The last 2 games I played were VS the Twins. In both games I ended up scoring 3 runs in the 9th to win. So Right now I'm 6-2 going in to a 4 game series with the Rays, and 4 games up on the Yanks as they got off to a slow 2-6 start. My offense is getting a little better now I scored 5 runs in both those games VS the Twins.

I just hit into my first triple play. Men on 1st and 2nd I hit a grounder to 2nd. I tried to take out the SS but instead of hitting down on the LS, I hit down on the RS and acidentally sent my guy that reached 3rd base home, so they turned a 4-6-3-1 triple play. I ended up coming back from a 2-0 deficit vs the Dodgers in the 8th inning to win 5-2. I had 13 hits, 12 of them singles

Just wrapped up my Nats series - I won 3 of 4. Best game was the last one, where I won 8-0. Ubaldo was dominant - a CG, 4-hit shutout with 11 ks. Awesome. I love using him, and want to get a Cy Young with him.

I started a home series against Florida next. I simmed and won the first game 2-1, and am now about to play the 2nd game, Aaron Cook vs. Chris Volstad.

I'm sitting pretty at 12-5, 1 game up on the Giants.

                              League notables:

                              - Best team in the league right now are the Cardinals, who are 14-3. (They own I guess)
                              - Worst team in MLB is the D-Backs, who are 3-12

As for my team, my bullpen has been really solid actually - I just need to focus on better starts with guys like Jason Hammel and Aaron Cook. I should be good then.

I'm really liking the commentary, I just started a series with the Phillies and they started talking about the late inning comeback that I had in the final game of my Dodger series, and they really went into detail about the rivalry between the Mets and Phillies. I just finished my last game in April so I'm going to put Beltran back on the major league roster and hopefully that will cure my offensive woes, although his replacement, Angel Pagan is hitting .408
