      Simulated the rest of my season.

      Won division but lost in the ALCS in 7 games to the Twins, who won the WS.

      BTW, ater Year 1 of your franchise. The game is broken.This is because there are no free agents and the player progression (which is known) sucks ___________<---------insert perverted joke there

        Your rotation has great potential it looks like. But it looks like your bullpen needs some help with Billy Wagner and Darren Oliver being pretty old. As far as the lineup, Mauer and Cabrera enough said.

          So it is onto the 2010 World Series, the Phillies will be facing off w/ a team making their 1st World Series appearance again. In 2008 it was the TB Rays, this time it is the Texas Rangers, lead by Josh Hamilton, Michael Young, Ian Kinsler, and a resurgent Vladimir Guerrero.
          Phillies defeated the Rangers in 7 games to win their 3rd World Series title.

          It was a tough series. Texas took an early 2 games to 1 lead, but a solid start from Kevin Correia coupled w/ a dismantling of Rangers pitching in gm4 allowed Philly to tie up the series. Game 5 Halladay was sent to the mound, and once again shut down the Rangers to take a 3-2 game lead.

          The series traveled back to Philadelphia, and CJ Wilson took the bump versus a surprise starter in Jose Contreras. With Cole Hamels having been roughed up in gm2, and Texas bats handling left handed pitching w/ ease, Philly needed another righthanded starter to provide quality innings.

          However, Contreras would surrender 4 runs over the first 3 innings, and leave the game after 5 w/ Texas holding a 4-1 lead. Wilson would limit Phillies offense to one run over 6.1 innings as Darren Oliver and Neftali Feliz closed the door on Philadelphia in gm6.

          Gm7 featured Joe Blanton -Vs- Scott Feldman. Blanton got into an early jam w/ runners at the 2nd and 3rd and one out, but managed to allow only one run to score in the inning. Philly would strike back w/ 3 runs in the B1st, and this game would be over by the 5th inning as Scott Feldman was roughed up for 8 runs and the Phillies went on to route the Rangers in gm7 of the 2010 World Series and be crowned CHAMPIONS! (yay 80 gamerpoints )

          Jayson Werth was your 2010 World Series MVP.

          Will post all (7) games final scores, and Werth's production from each game.

              In a 6-5 loss to Texas, I experienced my first fielding error of the season. Chone Figgins popped up to left and Julio Borbon had it bounce right off of his glove and hit the ground. The animation was actually pretty cool because he looked at his glove really quick and then couldn't get a good grip on the ball when he first tried to grab it. Figgins was safe at 2nd.

                Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress

                Yeah, errors do happen, but probably once every 20 games or so.

                In my 30 team franchise I'm using primarily the Yankees (my team) and the Braves as my NL team. The Braves are alot of fun to play with, Heyward is awesome.

                Anyway, my latest two games:

                (Mid May)

                Braves Game
                Played @ Milwaukee. Jurrjens vs. Wolf. Jurrjens is surprisingly struggling at 3-2 with a 5.93 ERA coming in, so I figured Id play as him.

                Ended up winning 8-3. Hit Wolf early, and had him knocked out after 4. Heyward hit a 3-run shot in the 3rd to make it 5-0 at that point, which was pretty sweet. Chipper Jones also contributed with 3 hits, and Nate McClouth had his own solo shot. Best hitter on the team right now is Melky Cabrera, who was batting .336 coming in.

                Braves are 19-13, first in the NL East by a game over the Marlins. The Phillies and Mets are right behind, only 2 games out, while the Nats are in dead last.

                Yankees Game
                @ Detroit, Sabathia vs. Max Scherzer. Scherzer was 5-0 with a 2.32 ERA coming in, while Sabathia was 2-2 with a 4.36 ERA.

                Ended up winning 10-2. Just got tons of hits this game (16) and despite running into early trouble with Sabathia, I settled down and pitched 7 innings with him. Jeter somehow is leading the league with 10 HRs, which is weird, but not implausible. I had Thames play DH this game, and he went 4-4 with 3 RBIs, made me look like a genius.

                The AL East looks alot like the NL East - 4 teams are within 2 games of each other, with the Yankees at 19-13, just like the Braves. The O's are in dead last with only 11 wins.

                ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                Around the league, the D-Backs have only 8 wins and have the worst record in baseball. The surprising Astros have the best record, with 21 wins and only 11 loses.
                  Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress
                  still with my royals franchise, with a new line-up after trading ankiel, jason kendall and some prospects:
                  1:Alberto Callaspo 2B
                  2: David DeJesus CF
                  3:Billy Butler 1B
                  4:Michael Cuddyer RF
                  5:Ty Wigginton 3B
                  6:Jose Guillen DH
                  7:Mike Aviles SS
                  8:Buster Posey C
                  9:Scott Podsednik LF
                  Rotation
                  Zach Greinke
                  Gil Meche
                  Tim Hudson
                  Jorge De La Rosa
                  Brian Bannister
                  Bullpen
                  Closer: Joakim Soria
                  Set-up: Juan Cruz
                  MR: Daniel Bard
                  MR: Jeremy Affeldt
                  Its just after the all star break, with Meche and Butler and Wigginton making the AL team. The royals are only 3 1/2 games behind the White Sox, who have the second best record in the league behind the Yankees. The most suprising thing is either Wigginton, wih 60 rbis and 21 hrs already, or mike aviles, with 24 hrs. Just completed a sweep of the tigers, with meche outdueling verlander and hudson and de la rosa holding the tigers under 3 runs, with final scores of 6-1, 3-2, 4-1, with soria picking up 2 saves. It's looking good for a long-awaited return to the playoffs in KC!
                    JBH, you control all 30 teams - how did you handle the draft? I tried simming past it and it messed up everyones roster pretty much - should I just fix them again or is there a better way to go about this>
                      Yea. That was the BIGGEST pain in the arse about controlling all-30. I drafted the first 10 rounds for every team, and then simulated the rest and it jacked up my lineups and rotations for every team.
                      I suggest just doing the entire draft w/o simming. It will be less time-consuming in the end.
                        Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress
                        If you're using any of the updated rosters, some player contracts are messed up and can mess with your budget and other teams budgets in year 2 of your Franchise. For instance: Blake Wood, a pitcher on the Royals is making like 1.86B. B as in Billion and I simulated the season to go to the 2011 season and it gives you UNLIMITED CAP space. So please look at your minor leaguers and stuff and adjust the contracts before year 2.
                        You will regret it big time if you do not. Kevin Russo on the Yankees also is affected by this bug.
                            Astros have a pretty cool ballpark. That is my vote.
                              Astros are also terrible. Play as the A's, they're alot of fun to play with.
                              JBH, I manually went ahead and fixed everyone's rosters, haha. Its fine, for the most part everyone is good.
                              Whats great is I get incredibly realistic stats - all the good players and pitchers are playing as they should etc. I think the newest living roster update from when I started my 30-team franchise really helped smooth out some of the simulation stats.
                              Ive been jumping around between the Dodgers, As, and Braves. I think I may want to try and win the NL Central as the Cubs though - theyre like 5 games out from the really surprising Astros. Ill update standings and stuff next post
                                I'm waiting for Strasburg's official 2K likeness to drop, and then I'm gonna start an all-30 but using just the Nats, pitching solely as the Strasburg (for the most part).
                                Going to sim to the day the called Drew Storen up, and bring him up. Then do the same for Strasburg (and Mike Stanton as well) and start playing games from Strasburg's debut till whenever.
