Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
How is the 2k My Player compared to Road to the Show? I had SO much fun playing The Show over christmas break on my bro's ps3. I liked the fact that I spent . . . 3 or 4 seasons bouncing between AA and AAA and never had an MLB shot. Maybe I sucked or maybe it was the fact that I sucked and was playing on the hardest level but either way it was fun to feel like I was "brewing" in the minors. From the stories I've read here about 2k it seems as though you get your shot in the bigs pretty much in the first season. Is this true? Also, in my RttS I was traded twice in those 3 years, not something I asked for or planned on as it forced me into the SU role from my closing role a few times. Is it true that you can only be traded in 2k's My Player if you request it? These 2 things, the rapid promotion and trading are huge factors in whether or not I will buy this game. Can anyone answer these for me?Before I'd see him in Boulder, I'd see my son in Hell.Comment

Both of those are true. Rapid promotion if you do well and only being traded if requested are really my only two gripes about My Player, though. Maybe the graphics are a bit shakier, but it's still okay. How is the 2k My Player compared to Road to the Show? I had SO much fun playing The Show over christmas break on my bro's ps3. HOWEVER, I've played both the Show's RTTS and 2K10's My Player, and IMO 2K10's My Player is more fun. Just my opinion, though doesn't mean much.Comment

I cant wait to get this game mainly for My Player, im pretty sure thats the Mode im going to be playing most for sure. Question for you...can you make a switch hitter? Would it be harder to get points up for that?-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment

You start out as a Relief Pitcher when you select RP when you create your guy. You don't start out as a closer, but you can progress to it. Also, in regards to the 2 pitches, you can always buy more pitches with XP, it's only 2000 for the first one. But, I do agree it becomes boring as a RP."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
Wow. So, I have found my calling in this game. I created a CF named Carter Anderson and put myself on the Reds (wanted a team without a real bonafide CF). I spent the entire 2010 season in AA and then the start of 2011 in AAA before being called up in mid-April to start for the Reds. I played most of my games (probably only simmed around 35-40) and had a lot of fun. I finished the season with a line of .320, 29, 92 and won NL Rookie of the Year.
The real fun came, however, in the pennant chase. We were 6 games out with just three weeks to go but then went on a tear and ended up being tied with Milwaukee for the Wild Card going into the final game. However, we lost to St. Louis 4-1 (with me striking out to end the game) and Milwaukee won, leaving us out of the playoffs by one game.
My only gripes are the CPU having my team Hit and Run when we're down 3 runs late in the game and pitchers staying in two long.Comment

Yes, you can be a switch hitter. I am a switch, and it's not harder then if you bat just L/R.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
I really struggled when I first got pulled up to the Majors, but in the past 16 games, I've had 12 multi-hit games. And I think I've hit like 7 HRs during that stretch. I'm really starting to hit my stride. Hitting about .290 with 9 or 10 HRs and 30 RBIs now after 40+ games in the majors.NFL: Bills

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
I was just thinking of this this morning. Instead of allotting all of my points to my player during the season, I'm thinking of spreading it out more to try and keep him a little more balanced.
I do like the balance in upping the difficulty after you add points, but I see myself getting in the 80's by the time my first season in the majors is reached. I'm not too crazy about that, so I think I'm going to keep my guy in the 70's and maybe govern his progression.
lol..my own little communist my player mode.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
Anyone having problems with the pitchers? I have a SP and most of the time I pitch 10-14 innings every game. I gave up eight runs in the first inning once and they kept in the game until the eighth.
I started a Closer and they put me in the seventh inning every time. This is ridiculousMichigan Wolverines
