Honestly, both baseball games are fun as **** but buggy as hell this year. I don't know whether to be happy or saddened.

Blzer all games have bugs, when you have all this information in a game it is going to have issues. So you just have to live with hopeful patches to fix some of them.

        *Points to FA problem thread*

This needs to be addressed. It was a problem in last year's game and its a problem in this years. Fix it.

For sure, I understand. I'm just disappointed that games (not just baseball) do get buggier as they get more advanced, where as one would always hope for the opposite.

nope, its going to only get worse, why? becuase the more sim you make a game the more bugs you will see. THey have to make games so techincal with so much detail in them, that things are bound to be messed up. They try to shove so many modes and features into games these days, that its just alot to do in 1 year.

15 years ago, games were so basic and were not techincal at all, they didnt have to worry about annoying bugs because games were not sim, they were arcadde with a a handful of animations and thats it. there were no sliders, there were no cool looking double plays. It was so basic.

Its going to get worse as tech gets better.

I believe this will be the case too. I'm just lookin' at it like this: the more detailed and technical the physics and stuff get in a game, the more lines of code, so the more errors in the code.

I think we see more bugs simply because they CAN patch them. Why make sure things are as good as they get because you can patch them easily later on. The public is simply used as free beta testers in today's video game market and that's true for every sports game out there right now.

Re: 2K Ron asking for patch feedback

ok fellas let's get this thread back on track...here are my suggestions, and actually many of them are rarely if ever noted by players, but I am all about realism and consider myself a pretty hardcore pure baseball video gamer.

First I must say though, this game is a great improvement over last year's game which was truly unplayable in my opinion. This year's game is very good if you can get over the little issues, and the pitcher/batter interface is the best in any game I have seen.

On to the bad, short and sweet and most of these hopefully fairly simple to take care of.

                  - Fix AI on leaving pitchers in way too long, especially in the my player mode.

                  -Add check swings

-Include errors in the game, very important to sim baseball but do not over-do it.

-The 'roll' of the baseball is one very unrealistic part of the game people seem to fail to notice. Its often like the ball is rolling across sticky grass or dirt. It takes a long time for balls to stop rolling on real baseball fields, because the grass is short and the dirt is packed down. This would also lead to increased extra base hits.

-Still need a little bit of toned down AI aggression.

-Please fix Free Agency issues, a big issue for franchise players.

-My biggest one would be defender reactions. This was one of the few issues in MVP 2005 that bugged me too much. It's very hard to get a linedrive or groundball through the infield, because players act at a very unrealistic speed. They cover holes and do things that take away hits that would never happen in real life.

                  Just some of my thoughts

This is my thinking as well.

It doesn't help that our expectations have simply skyrocketed over the past 10-12 years.

Another bug is that once in My Player mode, I lost all sound completely, and had to go back to the dashboard and then back into the game to get it back.

Been assured by MLB 2K10 dev team that they are taking a hard look at the patch feedback you guys provided. Thanks!

ok here are the major issues after about 20+ franchise games:

                            1. Injuries..where are they?
                            2. Errors: havent seen a single one except a couple of passed balls
                            3. Pitchers staying in way too long sometimes 130+ pitches
                            4. Rocket arms
                            5. Double switch completely screwed up

there are lots of other things but these are quickly making the game unplayable over the long stretch.

To the guy freaking out over being unable to switch fielders, press the "A" button. I did it, and it was successful.
