Why did they ever change it? If they had just added more hit types, more player animations, and a little deeper franchise mode, the game would still be perfect.

MLB 2K7 still the best in the series
I still pick up MLB 2K7 occasionally and am stunned by the beauty of that game... the stadiums, the player models, that game had it all!

Re: MLB 2K7 still the best in the series
Yeah, I didn't think much of 2K7, at all. I thought it was kind of terrible.
But I'd argue that 2K8, minus the frame rate issues, was the best of the last few years.Comment

Re: MLB 2K7 still the best in the series
2k7 was a great game IMO. Was the last 2k game I purchased.
However, the game killer for me was that if you walked someone and they scored, it was scored as an "unearned" run. To me, that was a big no-no.Angels= 2025 World Series Champions!!Comment

Re: MLB 2K7 still the best in the series
Graphically, yes, everybody was teased by that game. But the hitting/pitching was broken and the fielding sucked. Nowhere near how broken 2k8/2k9 were, but still not as good as 2k10.
If you had to pick a game to play once for the "wow" factor, 2k7 would be it. But 2k10 was the only game of the series worth sinking any kind of time into.Comment

Just Imagine 2K7 looks and menu's with 2k10 gameplay? that would be very good.
Back on 2K7, That Game definatley was drop dead gorgious. Ill even say it looked Better than MLB 10... MLB 11 though looks better as of right now with that GODLY lighting improvement...Comment

This 100% truth, 2k8 was the worst, 2K7 was pretty bad too

The lighting while dynamic, was not that great for brightness and realism, it ran a inconsistent 30FPS, the animations were not on the level, the stadiums were not very detailed comparatively with all the little things...
Yes it was the best looking in the series (and I still like the jerseys in the wind even though every game was a hurricane HAHA), and looked the best at the time especially compared to MLB '07 (in stills, motion is a different story), but as soon as '08 came out, with the texturing and lighting, it was a whole new ballgame in the graphics department.
Now I did enjoy it since it was a huge upgrade over 2K6, and kept me busy, then 2K8 came out and I had to have options. Too much of a hardcore baseball nut to settle with no options.
The lighting in 2K11 seems to be far better than any game in the 2K series judging by the stills and video.Last edited by EnigmaNemesis; 01-21-2011, 02:50 PM.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Disagree with the looking better than MLB '10, '09, or even '08.

Re: MLB 2K7 still the best in the series
That's what I was waiting for. 2K7 looked nice with some players that were represented properly, but overall that game's gameplay was on par with an arcade baseball game.
Even with power and contact sliders to zero, I could hit a HR on cue in online games and in the broken franchise on a ball two feet outside with the wind blowing in at 100 miles per hour.
Really the two things that would make 2K11 vastly superior to 2K10(which I believe was the best in the series) is the addition of these fielding upgrades they've mentioned and representation of the actual difficulty pitchers have with pinpointing their pitches.
The hit variation and all of that has come along every year now, but the two things above have lagged behind. I enjoyed the throwing meter from 2K8 and the hit variety we saw in 2k9 when using the bat icon to hit.PSN : TALLERthanyou24Comment

I firmly agree.
I think every player on my team had 30+ HRs though.Comment

Re: MLB 2K7 still the best in the series
I love 2k7, still the only baseball game I play, since I don't have a playstation. Rain Delays, graphics, accurate celebration for pennent and world series, actually I don't think there is a better championship celebration representation for a video game.
2k10 was alright, but the tight uniforms and graphics still alot to be desired.Games I'm playing FOREVER: NFL2K5, That is all.Comment

Re: MLB 2K7 still the best in the series
i really liked the presentation and graphics of 2k7, but some things killed it for me.
I hated that there was no WIDE batting camera.
u never really got a good look at the stadiums while batting.
2k8 was the best for me, but the awful frame rate made it unplayable, plus the overlays took a big hit towards ugly.
i still think the progressive lighting in 2k8 is the best of any baseball game i've played.
u could play a game at 10 am!
my opinion.Comment
