    Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

Well I am now 1-1 in my Reds chise.
Got a big 4-2 win over the Brewers, Arroyo pitched really well.

    MWK 2 10 0
    CIN 4 12 0

    Gomes 2-4 hr 2 rbi
    Arroyo 7 ip 8 ks 1 er

    Fielder 4-4 1 hr 2 rbi

Really exciting game, Gomes hit a solo hr in the B8 to make it 4-2.
Cordero come on and struck out all 3 batters he faced for the win.
ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.

Pujols, Schumaker, G. Laird for A.McCutchen, Tabata, Ceneno.

As someone from Pittsburgh, i just found it very sad and hilarious seeing this unlikely scenario.

And Pujols is on the last year of his contract. It's not out of the realm of possibility. If you don't think that, then you don't follow sports transactions well enough.

it should be noted again, no, this trade will never happen for either side, and YES it is out of the realm of possibility.
      just from Pitt's perspective :
Pittsburgh will never trade their 2 young kids for a 1 yr Rent-a-player.
Pitt would be at least in the playoff hunt to sign to sign him, which is laughable.
Pujols would never re-sign for a bottom dweller like Pitt.
I can even see him holding out if this trade even happened.(not sure if he has a no-trade clause)
Pitt would never pony up that amount of cash.(Pitt would have to pay at least 1.5-2 times as much as teams like NY to sign him anyways)
Pitt doing this so they can get some more buzz and fans in the stadium for 1 year? even the Pirates aren't that stupid.

sure, i can see it from St.Louis's perspetive if they gave up on resigning him, but if you follow sports transactions At All, u know it's more probable to see Pujols ending up with St.Louis Rams.
The faulty trading AI and inability to turn it off in MyPlayer mode is partly why I have never invested much time into it. I don't want to see the MLB landscape as we know it drastically altered by whatever logic the CPU teams are using.

In my MyPlayer career in MLB2K10, once I got to the pros I was on the rockies and pitched against the Dodgers. Andre Either was absent from the lineup, and I later found that he had been traded to the LAA Angels. I was like WTF?!? And never played another MyPlayer game again.

Yeah, the AI was nuts in My recent my player mode as well.

In my closer career, Pujols was traded to the Rays in the middle of the season and then signed with the Cubs heading into year 2.

                Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

ALL 30 Teams Franchise / Playing as Phillies:

With the official 2K11 Opening Day ****** out, started my ALL 30 franchise. This will probably be my main one. The Pirates one was real fun, and I won't delete it. I may eventually go back to it......?

Anywho...Halladay took the ball on opening day, and cruised through 6 innings s***tering 4 hits. In the 7th he ran into trouble walking leadoff man Brett Wallace, and the Astros would eventually take a 2-0 lead on a Humberto Quintero double w/ 2 outs.

Phillies would not score a run until the Bottom of the 9th w/ no outs. When Raul Ibanez hit the first Phillies extra base hit of the game w/ a solo HR to trim Houston's lead to 1 run. The shot came off newly made closer Wilton Lopez.

With the Ibanez solo shot, the Phightin Phils got it going, and got Roy Halladay off the hook for the loss by plating one more run thanks to an RBI single by Placido Polanco - This one was headed for extras...

In extra innings the game ended with Jose Contreras taking the mound. Contreras would walk the leadoff man, then allow consecutive double to Hunter Pence and Carlos Lee and eventually would surrender 3 runs in the inning before giving way to Ryan Madson after recording 0 outs.

Phillies would lose 5-2, not getting anything done in the B10th.

                Halladay's line: 9IPs 9H 2ER 1BB 9K

                Howard was 0-5 w/ 3Ks. Ibanez was 2-4 w/ a walk, single, and HR.

Brett Myers pitched a great game for the Astros through 7 innings. Striking out 6, walking 3, and only surrendering 4 hits.

                  Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

Update on my Orioles Franchise (year 2):

After a crazy winning streak, I'm 25-12 for the year and 4.5 games into first place ahead on the Yanks in the AL East. Most of my lineup is killing the ball, but the notable exception to that is Nolan Riemold, my new 1B to replace the departed D. Lee. Even though his normal contact/power number are pretty strong (70/71 vs RHP, 75/75 vs LHP), he's been struggling at the plate and is hitting .230 with 2 HRs and 10 RBIs.

Luckily for him the rest of the lineup is able to pick up his slack.

I've been able to avoid the injury bug so far, as far as major injuries go (I have a few guys nursing some injuries but still on the ******). Hopefully no one in my lineup will go down for an extended period of time as my depth is pretty shallow at most positions.

Matt Weiters is definitely an early candidate for MVP. He's sitting at 13 HRs, hitting around .350, and is in the league top 10 for RBIs. However, he started out hot last year and finished the year lacking his power from earlier in the season.

Tried to play a game against the Royals last night, but the game froze on me I'll try and fire it up again tonight and continue my progress towards the pennant!

                    Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

Finally! After a much too long wait, my 2k11 finally arrived. I had decided weeks ago what kind of franchise I'd do, which is sim the first year in a nats chise and play the second. I started it up, and declined basically every trade offer except for some minor league player ones. Somehow, they almost made the playoffs, but didn't, and finished 81-81. Now, beginning my second year, I have a lineup/rotation like this:

SS Ian Desmond (IMproved contact up to 74 and 77, has speed)
CF Grady Sizemore (Needed a CF, like his speed, fielding, and pop)
                    RF Jayson Werth (Good hitter)
3B Ryan Zimmerman (Progressed to a 93 OVR)
1B Adam Laroche (Good power, so so contact)
LF Michael Morse (Again, good power, so-so contact)
2B Danny Espinosa (Fast, has decent pop and is good fielder)
C Jesus Flores (Good defensive catcher, not much on offense)
                    P -------------------

                    Rotation:

Stephen Strasburg (Seems unfair pitching with this guy)
                    Jordan Zimmerman (79 OVR)
                    Scott Olsen (78 OVR)
Matt Chico (Weird, but I'm really good with him)
                    Paul Maholm (77 OVR)

                    Bullpen:

                    Ross Detwiler
                    javi Vasquez
                    Doug Slaten
                    Sean Burnett
                    Tyler CLippard
                    Closer: Drew Storen

I'll be looking to trade away some of my pitching depth for a solid number 2 starter

Laroche could find himself traded if he starts to not produce.

Love Morse's bat, but his fielding leaves him in a platoon with roger bernadina.

Somehow this team is a 90 OVR, so hopefully, we win the division!

Laroche isn't bringing a whole lot to the table right now so I may look to trade him if he doesn't produce

                      Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

Played my first games with my nats franchise, one against the marlins and one against the braves.

Won first game 3-0 behind solid performance from strasburg. PLayed small ball, only had one double all day. UNfortunately Strasburg got injured in the fifth, and is out for 12 days. I'll lower the injury slider later.

Next game was chico against jurjjens, with chico throwing shut out ball until a bumpy 7th, where he allowed 3 runs. Brought in clippard, with a score of 5-3 us. He allowed one more run, and it looked like it was going down to the wire. Next inning though, laroche hits a two rune HR with zimmerman on, and that was it. Storen got the save.

I'm having fun so far, will update more later.

Currently 2-2 in my Boston Red Sox franchise after blowing a 4-2 lead against the Indians due to a 3-Run HR by Carlos Santana. I currently have Salty on the 60 Day DL due to a Torn Rotator Cuff in Spring Training and Pedroia due to a broken hand. I'm currently debating whether to send Clay Buchholz to the DL or not, as he suffered the same injury as Pedroia, and is injured for 2-3 weeks.

1st game of Franchise mode with the Jays. Went up 8-1 after 3 on the Twins and started thinking I might need to adjust the sliders since my earlier MLB today game was also a blowout. Then the 6th happened. I couldn't get an out to save my life. Gave up 10 runs in the top of the 6th between 4 pitchers.. battled back in the bottom half to be down 10-9. We traded runs in the 8th and E5 tied it up with a bomb in the bottom of the 9th. Minny came close with in the 10th but I held to no runs after giving up a lead off double. Then in the bottom of the 10th I hit a walk off with Bautista with 2 outs. What a frigging game.

                            Notables -
Justin Morneau had 6 hits against me
E5 (Edwin Encarnacion) hit 2 bombs in the upper deck. The second was a massive shot off Nathan to center that tied it up the game in the 9th
Arron Hill almost hit the cycle.
In all, 45 hits between the two teams.

Hi everyone, I am going to start up one with my Mets, but a few things:
I do not have x-box live so I can not get updates. I will be starting on pro and moving up from there. I think I will put injury slider around 15. I will only be able to update on weekends.
Looking forward to starting and hope to stay at this forum for a long time.

Game 2 is in the books. (side note- my franchise is only a 52 game schedule)

                                Oakland took it to me.
Drabek started off the game striking out the side and we took the lead with a Snider home run. After that Cahill was lights out. He mixed sinkers, sliders and changeups inside and out that kept me off balance all game. I still managed 10 hits but couldn't manufacture any runs.
                                10-1 Oakland was the final.
