      Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

finally couldn't wait and started my Pirates Franchise with the nofakename rosters (PC) using BIGFNJOE96's sliders.

of course i started off creating/editing some of my minors, making some top prospects like T.Sanchez, Tallion, Allie, etc.
Then began the raping of farm systems of a few rich teams like the Yanks, Sox, Dodgers etc. that's my lil joy of playing baseball games
Now my farm system is pretty good, with bunch of young kids with high ceilings.
traded away some guys like Overbay for more kids.
finally traded for my fav player from last year (was the savior of my fantasy team) Sin Soo Choo. He was relatively easy to get, so i felt bad and gave em some good prospects.

then i created 2 players, a left handed, slap hitting fast SS (76), and a hard throwing underhand righty as my 4/5th starter (78).

      Lineup
      Tabata LF
      Mccutchen CF
      Choo RF
      Alvarez 3B
      G. Jones 1B
      Doumit - C
      Walker 2B
      SS

      SP
      McDonald
      Malhom
      Ohlendorf
      Underhand kid
      Correia

      Pen
      Meek
      Hanrahan
      Herndon
      Rafael Perez
      Karsten
      Beimel
      C. Park

      Bench
      C. Snyder
      M. Diaz
      J.Francour
      A.gordon
      R.Cedeno

My lineup's pretty good, the bench and pen aren't shabby either.
My biggest hole is my Starting pitching. maybe i'll trade for one in the near future, we'll see.

my team's got good speed McCutchen, my SS, choo, Tabata so we'll be running a lot. hope to be in top 5 in MLB in steals and triples.
other than C and 1B, Defense is good too.
With good Lefties in there, we're confident vs Righty Pitchers, but vs Lefties, not so much.
So my Bench is full of Righties who hit well vs Lefites, but suck vs Righties.
When facing a Lefty, my lineup is without G.Jones, Doumit, Choo (Surprisingly mediocre vs lefites) , my SS. sometimes i rest ALvarez vs em too.

just played past the All-star game, and at 46-50. about where i'd expect em to be.
SP have been surprisingly good so far era 3.00 - 4.00 cept my underhand kid who's struggling.
Team lead's MLB in steals at 77. 2nd team at 65. HA
also leads in SO though, and battings stats overall r under expectations.

McCutchen, Choo, have been struggling all season with OPS at .618, .700., AVG .228 , .259
But Tabata and Walker have been red hot with OPS .840 - .770. , AVG .346 , .287

thanx to everyone who's read through this long post, and just wanted to say, i've been very enjoying my time with his game so far.

Quick update on my Jays chise: I'm now up to about mid May with a record of 25-15 after sweeping the Twins at Minnesota in my most recent series.

3-2 with the reds and midway through the fourth. Votto has been killing the ball,6 homers in 6 games. Moved Chapman to the setup spot and made Cueto a starter again.

              Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

I gave up on the 162-game dream.

I started with the Cubs with the new batting camera angle I found, and I am doing the play every 6-games plan until September. Then I play until the end of the season or am mathematically eliminated.

Anyways, I was also going to play with default sliders on pro first, then when ready all star, etc. I am going to do default because since my games will only count for 25-33% of my teams games I don't need super realistic stats, I just need to have fun.

My new approach is swing for power. In my first game I hit a big 3-run HR with Tyler Colvin 426ft out of Wrigley. I walked like 4 times, but my clutch hitting was poor that is all I scored.

In the second game I played holy hell my bats came to life. Not only did Carlos Zambrano pitch ~7 solid innings, he hit a double and a homerun!!! I think I hit either 4 or 5 against Milwaukee en route to a 10-2 ghetto stomping of them.

I am definitely ready for all star level.

Started one with the nationals.. Off to a rough start at 2-4. Werth has struggled for me but Zimmerman has really started off hot with a .456 average and 3 homers.. Strausberg has been amazing as well with 2 quality wins and a 1.36 ERA. Overall having alot of fun with this game

Well so far I'm 8-3 with the Twins, and the injury bug has hit me hard.

Pavano broke his ankle landing awkwardly on his follow though out for 3+ months, Mauer is out for a couple weeks.

However this happens and the pitcher doesn't even get phased.

Line drive off the head, and not even the slightest inkling of being in pain.

lol at the way the batter looks in the backdrop. What are you looking at batter?

Well at least there are injuries. I just hate that Carl Pavano breaks his ankle throwing a pitch and from the replay it looks like nothing go wrong, and here I believe that's Ivan Nova getting belted in the head with a line drive and nothing.

I agree. It's utterly ridiculous. My comment regarding "at least there are injuries" was a little bit of gallows humor.

I've even taken guys like Halladay and increased his durability to the max 99 and he's still gotten injured.

I like injuries. I want them. Especially to pitchers. But just implement it properly 2K, and do it so there's no greater impact of injury when I play a game versus if I sim a game - because it seems playing the actual games leads to your team getting more and more riddled with injury.

Yeah, injuries are definitely eh in this game.

Also, any word on when a patch is coming out maybe? Its been awhile now.

Im starting a franchise with my Royals tonight! I plan on keeping the team close to actual but might make some trades with players that end up not doing so hot. I will most likely try to acquire a power hitter, which the royals are missing. I am going for the 162 game dream, never done it before but we will see how it goes. I will update after every 3 series or so. wish me luck!

Every franchise I have tried to start in the past two weeks has seen my opening starter leave the first game of the season with an injury, with the least amount of time out being one month. This is with the injury slider set to 20.

I just started one as the Royals because, at least if Hochevar goes down, its not like I am losing Halladay. Suprisingly, he survived his start.

Oh, also, every time I have stolen a base with someone for the second time in the game, they get hurt. I've had Rajai Davis, Nate McClouth and Lorenzo Cain hurt this way.
