    Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

I am doing the Tigers every 6 now. Now that I've seen what good looking stadiums look like on this game, I cannot play in the Rogers Centre any longer.

Anyways, I also plan to play every Sept game until I am mathematically eliminated. Which at this rate won't look like many.

I am 9-15, and my team ERA is 3.50. This tells you how dreadful my team hits in simulation.

      KCROYALS-
SO! I simmed spring training and had a few minor injuries, but nothing to big. Anyways once I got to the regular season I traded Kyle Davies for Zach Braddock . I also signed Bengie Molina before trading him along with Lucas May(minor league catcher) and Jarrod Dyson to the Cards for the expiring contract of Yadier Molina who I hope to sign at the end of the season. To round out my reshaping I traded Zach Miner for Brandon League.

After the trades I played my first series against the Angels. It was a bit rough losing all but one! Now I move onto the ChiSox. 162-Game DREAM!

Well, I had a five game lead in the AL East going into my series against the Orioles. However, I got swept by the Os and that got my lead down to two games. I rebounded to win three of four at Kansas City against the Royals, but that one loss to the Royals has resulted in my lead being cut down to one game. My record now is 38-26 with the Yanks right in my rearview mirror at 37-27

ALL 30 TEAMS FRANCHISE / PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES:

Won in walk-off fashion the other night....

Had a 4-0 lead agaisnt Milwaukee and Halladay was crusing through 5 innnings - allowing only 4 hits, no earned runs, and striking out 5. Then w/ one out in the 6th, he went down w/ an injury. Good thing it's only a DTD hip injury.

My 4 runs came from a solo shot from Ryan Howard, and a 3-run blast from Shane Victorino.

Milwaukee would eventually tie the game though...David Herndon came on in relief after Halladay went down, and was fine till about the 8th inning when he got into a jam and eventually allowed 3 runs to plate. Guess I left him in too long, but Kendrick was fatigued and I didn't want Bastardo in against a predominantly righty lineup. So Herndon had to shoulder the long relief role.

With Herndon struggling in the 8th, Ryan Madson came on in relief and ended the 8th w/ the lead in tact 4-3.

Madson would remain in the game for the 9th, but w/ his first offering to Rickie Weeks the game was tied as Weeks turned on a fastball and sent it scorching into left field.

Phillies would get out of the inning with the game tied 4-4, and it would remain that way until the 11th inning when Ross Gload came on to pinch hit for the pitcher to lead off the 11th.

Gload, facing Milwaukee's John Axford, took Axford's 1st pitch opposite field, and secured a win to begin the series w/ MIL. Phillies win 5-4!

            KC Royals

Ahh I love when my franchise doesn't save. So, back at it with the Royals- No major moves yet! Lost my first game to the Halos

Any Suggestions for this franchise with the Royals?

Peter Moylan just went into an **** pitcher's duel with Ubaldo Jimenez and Ubaldo blinked. Moylan came on in the 5th and there and between them there were 6 innings with a combined total of 4 hits, with Brian McCann knocking in Uggla from 2nd to walk it off in the 11th.

Win or lose, gotta love games like those.

Pitcher's duels are great. I've had a few. Its funny how consistently bad I am against Livan Hernandez - I seem to always be in a duel with him.

I rekindled my Pirates Franchise last night, playing a May 15th game against the Milwaukee Brewers - Brian Bannister (Pitt) vs Zack Grienke. Grienke came into the game w/ a sub-3 ERA, and a .215 opposing batting average. The Brewers were also looking for a sweep...

However, a single by McCutchen, walk of Neil Walker, and then a bases clearing double Ryan Doumit put the Buccos up 2-0 early in the 1st. They would chase Grienke out of the game in soon after, scoring 4 runs, with Grienke throwing 40 pitches, and recoring only one out!

The Pirates went onto win 9-3, and avoid the sweep.

Brian Bannister gave 7.1 strong innings, striking out 8, and walking 3, while only giving up 4 hits. He was charged with 2 runs, and Renyel Pinto who pitched from the mid-8th through the 9th was charged with the other run.

Bannister's 7 innings came on the heels of 10 straight games the Pirates have played, so only having to use one arm from the pen to finish the game and the offense supplying a great deal of run support allowed the pen to get some much needed rest with still 7 straight games left in this May schedule of 17 games in 17 days.

                    Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

                    Update on my Oriole's Franchise:

I'm about a week before the trade deadline in Year 2 and have a healthy lead of 5 games in the AL East. The Yanks and Sawx are not going away quietly, however, and even with a three game sweep in Fenway, I'm still not running away with the division.

I'm at the worst (or best) time of year as a GM. I have a solid lead in the division, but being a week away from the trade deadline I'm wondering if I should be looking to make an addition to the starting rotation. I have an average rotation and average bullpen of guys ranging from 74-81 OVR. With last years e.pic (that was getting censored?) collapse still fresh in my mind, I'm debating trading some of my top prospects for that help to push me over the edge.

At the same time though, I want to keep that young nucleus intact as I feel like I'm working on borrowed time with Vlad Guerrero (.349, 25 HRs, 71 RBIs) and will need to make a big signing (or allot a sizeable chunk of payroll to the OF via trade).

                    Couple of player updates:

Brian Roberts: leads the AL in hits. Hitting .315 with solid speed and defense. Getting older, but I think I'll continue to hang on to him after this season.

Adam Jones: After being injured for two months he's back in the linuep. Hitting .320, 11HRs, 43 RBIs.

Mark Reynolds: The reigning AL MVP, he's edging close to .300, hitting .294 at the moment. 26HRs, 74 RBIs.

Luke Scott: Despite a recent skid, he's hitting .303, 25 HRs, and 65 RBIs.

Nick Markaikis: I was getting frustrated with him last year, but he is back with a vengeance! Over .300 AVG, 17HRs, 56 RBIs.

Matt Weiters: Still a stud. Hitting over .300, 24 HRs.

It's no wonder why I have the top lineup in the AL

JJ Hardy: This guy just sucks for me. No power, no average, no speed, okay defense. He's lucky everyone else around him is making the All Star ballots. For now he's a cog in the machine, but he's also first to be replaced when a viable alternative comes up.

Here's to hoping I can hold on the last couple months of the season

Well a quick update on my nats franchise. I ended up getting Jeremy hellickson from the rays. Works out well cuz he has great potential so hopefully next year he can be a very good #2 starter. I simmer the first 5 games and went 1-4 so I played the 6th game against the marlins.

First inning I get on the board with 2 runs.
Second inning give up a run cuz of an error. It's 2-1 me.
In the top of the 5th I get 2 more runs. Zimmerman had a clutch 2 out hit. In the bottom of the 5th though, strasburg injures his forearm and is out for 6-8 weeks. FML. Clippard comes in and throws 2 perfect innings striking out 4. Burnett comes in in the 8th gives up back to back singles then get 3 straight outs to preserve the lead at 4-1. My closer drew storen gets save 1/2 on the season.

Have a 3 game series with the mets and brewers coming up and I'm hoping to take 2/3 in each series. Will update after those 6 games

Since Hinske was hurt and I drafted a decent 3rd baseman, I trade Brooks Conrad (71 OVR) for Juan Rivera (77 OVR) and in the process freed up about 2k

I was finally able to pick this game up today. I started a franchise with the Cubs. I'm doing the thing where you play 1 out of every 6 games and then sim the other 5, then play every single game in September.

I didn't make any moves at all with my bats, although I plan to. However the bullpen and rotation was a different story. Right off the bat I signed Chan Ho Park, a free agent, to help out the bullpen. Then I traded Zambrano for Beckett straight up. I just didn't want Zambrano on the team. I then traded whoever the Cubs #4 starting pitcher was for Brian Duensing of the Twins in order to get a lefty in the rotation.

My bullpen only has 1 lefty, and he's the setup man, so expect more trades for lefties in the bullpen.

I won the home opener 6-1 over the Pirates. I am really loving this game so far.
