I'm playing as the Mets, not the Tigers. So right now, the team looks like

C: Thole/Nickeas (Will be Paulino when he returns in real life)
    1B: Davis
2B: Turner/Harris (Murphy on the 60 day DL)
    SS: Reyes
    3B: Wright
    LF: Bay
    CF: Pagan
    RF: Duda/C. Wells

    And my rotation:

    1. Scherzer
    2. Niese
    3. Pelfrey
    4. Dickey
    5. Young

Currently 8-5 with the Phillies. Made 3 trades for Carlos Lee,Yadier Molina and Asdrubal Cabrera. Might trade Cliff Lee for a big bat or young pitcher, as I am looking to get the Phillies younger. As Victorino could be on his way out at sometime during the season.

The picture sums up my franchise with the diamondbacks so far. Im 19-12 but we have got some very lucky breaks so far. In the picture Justin Upton is robbing dexter fowler of a 2 run homerun in the 9th inning of a 3-2 win for me. This was the last out of the game too. If upton doesnt get the we lose the game. We have won alot of our games in the 8th and 9th innings. JJ putz is 9 for 9 in save chances and hasnt allowed a run all season. Chris young is leading the team in homeruns with 10 and Russell Branyan is in 2nd on the team in homeruns with 9. Pitching has been terrible and if it wasnt for alot of lucky breaks at the end of games we wouldnt even be over .500 at all.

Sorry if the size of the pic is too big. i dont know how to make it smaller

With MLB 2K10, I still had the urge to pop that game in now and again and not just for the nostalgia factor--it just played a better game of baseball compared to 2k10. This game finally has the gameplay and depth that makes me forget that MVP is collecting dust on my DVD shelf.
This is good to know. I love baseball, only have the 360 and am itching to see what happens when the 2nd patch drops. I'm just leery of buying it now if the franchise isn't playable long-term as the game stands currently.

Do those in this thread who have active franchises feel that there's enough to the feature to get through several seasons?

                Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

I will just throw this in here. I am finishing my MLB 2k10 season. It's a 104 game season with the Tigers. I am on a 3 game winning streak and sitting at 35-40 and 4 games behind the Indians at 39-36 I only have 29 games left to make up the ground. I have 4 games agains the Indians the left so I am totally in this race. Cabrera is hitting .312 with 26 Hrs and 61 RBI's, Inge is hitting .234 with 19 HR's, and Verlander is 6-6 with a 3.95 ERA. Man it is going to a blast to come back and win the division.
                Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

The only thing this mode lacks that could keep someone in long term is the "build your own stadium/handle the concessions" feature that MVP 2005 had. Other than that, this has the Draft, compensatory picks, budgets, FA, decent trade logic (in terms of finding or choosing trades...not a ton of trades done by the AI, but I suppose that's generally true to life).

Plus the player progression is outstanding. You really feel like you have invested in a player when you let him grow in the minors and watch his attributes tick up to become that stud September call-up. Also, hot/cold streaks help make the season seem more organic. You really feel like the season is progressing and your team's performance reflects that. You can go on crazy winning streaks, as well as **** losing streaks (I've experienced both, for better or worse )

The fatigue bug has not been a huge issue for me only because I play one then sim 5. I can understand how that would be a frustration for someone who wants to play every game (like I used to do, until I realized I get much more enjoyment letting the CPU determine the strength of my team over the course of season to keep me from being 162-0 every year. It also helps get a bunch of seasons in because I only play 27 games a year [minus playoffs, of course] which makes the decisions I make now have more weight, as I will actually get to see the results down the line).

Frankly I feel like there's enough to this mode to satisfy my baseball cravings for at least the next year or two (assuming the patch does come out eventually). If you can find the game used or for anything less than retail, and you are baseball fan with no access to the PS3, it should be a no brainer at this point.

Okay, that's good. Sorry to be dense but could you elaborate on your experience with the fatigue issue?

I'd likely do the same thing, playing one then simming a few. When you do that, does fatigue actually show or kick in? Or is it that the CPU plays and rests players properly in simmed games?

                      Thanks!

alright im playing as the tigers and i usually favor some players and give them all the starts(casper wells, scott sizemore) over players who usually play their positions raburn and Guillien but when i sim my games both Wells and sizemore get put on the bench, and my batting order is always changed...is this a glitch bc i have the cpu managment thing off for everything someone help please

There is fatigue when the game is simmed. As for whether the players are rested or not when their fatigue is low is hard to say. It seems like the threshold to rest someone is very low, meaning it take A LOT of fatigue (the yellow cross next to their name) to get any AI moves.

In my franchise I am having bench players get playing time, but that could be due to late inning subs, not from starts (I haven't really looked into it). The problem I'm having with the fatigue bug is that when you play, everyone goes back to 99 energy. When you only sim 5 games at a time, you don't give your team enough to time to get fatigued before the next game to really make an impact. Because I have been adhering to this formula the entire time, I haven't simmed 2 months at a time to see what is going on without my involvement.

                          Maybe someone else here has?

                            My Pittsburgh Pirates Franchise:

I've decided mainly to run w/ my Pirates Franchise which was started on/around the games release - I've really enjoyed it so far.

Just finished up the draft the other day, I selected a 6'2" 200Lb lefty w/ the #1 overall pick. He goes by the name of Charley Burke. He's rated a 66 overall, has 93 stamina, 5* potential, and a 5-pitch repetroire: Fastball, Cutter, 2-Seam, Curveball, Circle Change. I can't wait to get started on him, developing him, and dominating...

I then played the final game of 3 playing host to the D'Backs - A 6 run 7th inning pushed me ahead 6-3 and that would be the final. This was Pedro Alvarez's 3rd or 4th game back, and he doubled in a run.

Quick update on my Orioles 'chise:

Just got skunked in a game against the Rangers. They are stacked.

Luke Scott went down with a 1-2 month injury, which hurts as he was hitting around .300 and had 26 HRs and 85 RBIs (my #5 hitter). The one upside is that he was on a cold streak, so I solved that problem

I will probably have Felix Pie take his spot in the meantime.

One month to go and I'm 12.5 games up. I couldn't blow that lead, could I?

Still finishing my MLB 2k10 season. Tigers are on an 8 game win steak!!!! Sitting at 39-40 only 1 game back of the Indians (40-39) tonight I play the Indians in the 2nd game of our 2 game series. (104 game season) If I win tonight the Tigers will be tied for 1st. It has been a long road and as I have won 8 strait the Indians have lost 8 strait.
