I'm real hit or miss with Lincecum. He's either unhittable, or gets absolutely lit up. I'm only 4-3 with Lincecum.

I don't think it's me not being good at pitching, considering the game before I pitched a shutout with Barry Zito...

Yeah, this is me with Cliff Lee. I can't figure it out for the life of me, but it is what it is.

        Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

I'm not gonna complain too bad, since I'm leading the NL in .avg with Miguel Tejada of all people...

I just got through a hell of a pitcher's duel though. Matt Cain v. Brett Anderson. 2 shut outs going until the bottom of the 9th. Up to that point, I had 2 base runners on 1 hit, and one reach on error.

Somehow, Nate Schierholtz of all people broke the streak with a base hit. In the next at bat, Chris Stewart missed the bunt on the hit and run, but Schierholtz was still safe at 2nd on the steal. Stewart was able to sac-bunt on the next pitch to get Schierholtz to 3rd with 1 out, and I had Buster Posey pinch hit for the pitcher Romo, and got a walk off double with the game winning RBI.

I think I'm gonna manually play 3 more series' before the All-Star Break, all division series. Post All-Star Break I think I will switch from division games to potential playoff contenders, seeing as how teams like LA and Arizona aren't really threats to me in the division race anymore.

My Pirates, coming off winning two straight series heading into the ASB, get swept by the last place Astros to start the 2nd half.

We scored a collective four runs over 3 games, and the bats have been cold since the ASB. My pitching was pretty good, holding the Astros to no more than 4 runs in any of the 3 contests. Just gotta get the bats going....I had no Home Runs in that series, and very few XBHs.

Next is Cincy, then a day off, then the Cards. With the Pirates 8 games under .500 I may forego the season once in August, and sim the rest of the way unless I can crank out a couple series wins.

The injury bug is starting to hit my team a little bit. First Mike Napoli, who had been my best hitter outside of Hamilton. Then Andrus, who is my only real lead off threat since Kinsler can't hit RHP in this game. Now Alexi Ogando, who was 6-0, tore his rotator cuff and will miss the rest of the season.

Just avoided a 4 game sweep and won against the Brewers 9-2. I had 4 HR's, two by Uggla. After the game though, I checked the stats and only like 3-4 players per team have any stats on the season. Has anyone else seen this? Apparently the Dodgers and Giants have only played two players all season.

Someone needs to explain to 2K sports that if the CPU hitter is on a cold streak, he shouldn't hit as well. The cpu on a cold streak is hitting like .750 against me. It's getting rediculous.

                      Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

Quick update on my Phils franchise. So I made the playoffs and got home field with a record of 91-71, with me playing about 45 of those games. The regular season itself was lots of fun. The division and league leads came down to the last week of the season.

I just defeated the Dodgers in the NLDS in 5 games. I went up 2-0 but then dropped 2 in LA in heartbreaking fashion. In the 5th game I went up 4-0 in the 7th and then my game froze . So I redid it and took a 3-2 lead into the 9th, at which point I gave up a run and let the game go into extras. We scrapped through a couple of innings and in the bottom of the 10th Howard hit a walk-off bomb to right center. It was awesome.

That was actually the 2nd walk-off shot Howard hit in the series. In game 2 he finished off an incredible 5-run 9th to give me a 7-4 come from behind win.

These playoffs are tense! I now have to face off against MIL, who played me very well in the regular season . . . should be fun!

Loving franchise right now. In my second year with the Cleveland Indians and did terrible my first year. Made some major changes to the roster including getting Ryan Howard and looking pretty good right now. 4-2, one of my losses in walk off fashion. I tend to simulate pitching and if i go up by 4 or more runs a super sim. Well hopefully I can keep you guys updated on my progress. Praying for a playoff bid this year!

Pirates Franchise Update: Got a couple more games in the other day. I'm now at July 20th in my Pirates Franchise. After losing 5 straight coming off the All-Star Break, I avoided a 3-game sweep by the Reds, and ending my 5 game skid.

Paul Maholm was dominant, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 10 over 7.1 innings before leaving the game w/ a left shoulder strain; he will only be affected by the injury for 8 days and will not require a DL stint.

Althouh Maholm was dominant, the Pirates could only manage 1 run, and took a 1-0 lead into the 8th. Catcher Chris Snyder provided some insurance with a solo blast, his 2nd homer in as many games, and Joel Hanrahan came on for the Save facing the 1,2,3 hitters in the Cincy order. He would retire all batters in order, and record his first Save since Late-April/Early-May -- Hanrahan had been on the D/L with a right wrist injury for about 45 days.

The Pirates will have a day off and then start a 3-game set w/ the visiting Cardinals.

I'm 8-6, two games behind the Mets who I am in a series against. I lost game one, but if I take two and three we'll be tied for the lead. I lost McCann in spring training to a fracture Ulna. So I called up a 3rd baseman named Aaron Phillips who's main position is 3rd base, but he has high ability at catcher.

I called him up to give David Ross a break and to also give Chipper some breaks and the kid is really good. He has 95 Arm Strength which is really nice. He threw out Hanley Ramirez and I think Carlos Beltran. At 3rd he is also faster than Jones and dives more than any player I've seen. He really goes after anything hit near him and if he catches it he has the arm strength to throw anyone out even from foul territory.

This kid sounds too good to be true for a call up, right? His downside is his hitting. He has power in the 60's off righties and lefties, but his contact is in the 40's and 50's. His first game he went 1-4, then 0-4, then this last game he was 2-5 with a double. He's a nice player to have on my roster right now and I am going to hate sending him down once McCann is back to health which is about 8-9 days now.

My domination against the NL West continues. I'm currently 35-23, and I'm getting close to the All-Star Break. Post All-Star break will be interesting, since I plan on simulating my division games (except perhaps the Padres and Rockies who are maintaining a reachable distance) and playing more out of division games that may have playoff implications. We'll see if the game becomes more challenging when I'm playing some of the top teams in my franchise, like the Phillies (31-27), Mets (31-27), Red (34-24), Brewers (33-25) instead of constantly playing 3rd, 4th, and 5th place teams like the Rockies, Diamond Backs, Dodgers, and A's.
