Are we really giving 2K that much credit for shipping a glitch-filled, unfinished game, and then fixing some (but far from all) of those issues in a Day-1 patch? IMO, the game after that first patch served as the version we should have gotten out of the box; I give them no points for the release-day patch.

Pretty much any game I have played in the past two years has had a patch on release day. These games go gold a little bit before release and the devs continue to tweak everything to perfection, then release those minor tweaks and fixes in a day one patch. Then when we see everything else that needs fixing, we wait for a patch later on.

I hate that we have to deal with it, but games are ending up more polished than ever after they release the patches for them. The thing is we have to wait for playoffs to hit in sports games half the time.

Is there really any excuse for the fatigue bug? I mean, something like that should have easily been detected before we got the game. At this point, we don't know if all the freezing will be fixed. I have encountered so many various instances where the game would freeze that my confidence for them fixing it all is lost. In fact, I just got 2K10 so I can go through games without fatigue, home-run glitch, and the freezing issues.

Fine. Then allow them to have more time in a development cycle. Take your pick. Oh, and have fun getting MLB to agree to the longer development cycle too.

Or they can setup their studio to better handle the shorter development cycle afforded to yearly released sports games. Make a better game, or die off. I can't wait for 2k's exclusive 3rd party license to run out, That is the only reason a series that has had as many pitfalls and problems they have had the last couple years could even stay afloat. If there was any direct competition to them, the company would likely consider closing their studio, or moving it to a different development house. They've shown improvement, but they still have dropped the ball on a number of things, and for the love of god, they have 2 year olds running PR for them.

The only excuse I can think of for the fatigue bug is they had guys testing the game out who obviously don't pay attention at all or they simmed most of the games throughout a franchise and never noticed it.

I'm not really trying to say 2k is okay for doing this, but its unfortunately become the standard for all games. Release with some bugs that they hope can be fixed through patches.

The only way to not see the fatigue bug and incredible amount of injuries is that they only tested the game in Play Now and just tested the sim engine in franchise. OR the day one patch broke these two areas.

The Show had one in the very beginning as well, so technically this is their third.

                  Just sayin'

I hope 2K comes through though with a nice release list of fixes.

Does anyone from 2K ever post over here and show us they have a pulse at OS? Would be nice if they even just communicated a little with us...

I get it, and admit that this is unfortunately the standard--which was really my point. The release-day patch wasn't really a "patch", IMO, it served only to give us the "out of the box" game we should have had in the first place. Since almost every game now has a release-day patch, I'm not giving 2K and great credit for having one too. I'm not criticizing them for the first patch, just saying that patch doesn't really "count" and they still owe us some big-time fixes for this game.

If they're only going to give us a 70% functional game because of a 70% development cycle, then we should only be paying 70% of the $60 we pay. 2K makes all of the money on these games and it is their job to make sure that the game they release is a good product; if they need more time or resources, their business is to make that happen.

Thank you. I've been trying to come up with a good comparison for people to understand for a while now. I swear, most of the users here are just 2K employees trying to get people to be OK with a 70% functional game (for most of the season, until the final patch) for 150% of an acceptable price.

Either this game was released so bugged that it can't be fixed or the patch is going to be awesome and fix all the issues.

The lack of communication between 2K and the community has to mean one of those two thoughts.

I don't doubt the fatigue bug will be fixed, but it's the freezing that worries me. I've had freezing under various in-game circumstances that I can't see them fixing it all. Meanwhile, I got 2K10 and at least should be able to finish a game without having to save after every inning. By the way, saving and continuing seems to negate the achievement awards.
