    Re: Player Stats in Franchise

I've had a stats issue in MLB Today games where it would show a pitcher as having 198-1 record with 4 IP and 28 K or something ridiculous like that.

It might add a minute or two on to your game time, but it is definitely worth not taking the chance of losing a game. But I know what you mean about facing those tough pitchers. I played a game against CC earlier and he was pretty tough to hit. I had only 4 hits in the game but managed to put up two runs. Too bad Derek Holland got crushed...
Yea I typically let replays and stuff do their thing.

Yea those good pitchers are tough. But it makes the game realistic. If the ratings of the players are going to matter, I can't ask for anything better.

I'm jaded from Madden franchise modes where player ratings don't matter, the game is predetermined based on the difficulty sliders.

Here's my problem (and hopefully someone has some kind of solution for this). Everytime I get about 5 or 6 seasons in, the game doesn't record stats for computer generated pitchers if you play the game. If you simulate, stats will be recorded but when playing the game they aren't recorded. I've tried using the 2K rosters and 2K Share rosters but nothing seems to work. It may be because I edit some players since the computer generated ratings can be wonky. Either way, it shouldn't cause the stats to not be recorded. Anyone encountered this or have any potential solutions?

What do you mean? Like career stats, season stats? Take a screen shot if you can.

i.e. you give up say 20 hits (for sake of argument here)...after the game you go to the stats page and it doesn't record? So if you played 40 games with a pitcher it will say 0 games?

In My Player, it's the end of year 2 and the September call ups are not generating stats. Plus, the dumb *** roster manager is starting a September call up at 3b instead of fontenot who's been there all year. Fontenot-73 Scrub-65

Hmmm, my main issue with the sim engine and stats is home runs. They topped out at 41 for either league. Kinda disappointing there but it's only 1 year. As well there were some anomolies like Ichiro hitting below .300 (even though he has 600+ at bats) and Justin Morneau hitting only 9 homers and 71 RBIs in 500+ at bats. It's a smh moment but I wont call it a franchise killer.

I definitely wouldn't call that a franchise killer. Look at the majors and you have your superstars that simply have bad years. Ichiro isn't very likely to hit below .300 but who knows the guy is getting a little older. You never want the stats to end up being too drastic in either direction but having a few players not live up to expectations is pretty realistic in my opinion.
