So far im 6-3 with my Dodgers Franchise. I play a 104 game season. Also, I keep adjusting the sliders until i find nice fit. Anyone have some realistic sliders?

I did not want to argue about giving Alonso 5 stars or not, because this depends mostly on personal bias. But saying that 2k did something and now you should do it so and so because 2k did it is no argument in my eyes since their system is really everything but surely not stringent.

I never said Alonso should be a 5* BECAUSE Pedro Alvarez is a 5*. I just said there are other who haven't panned out yet that are 5*

I think the whole 5* vs 4* thing, especially in this context, is silly. I look at a 5 star rating as a the games way of giving a guy who was thought of as a big time prospect (Alvarez) every chance to succeed and become a good player. Even though he has that potential, he can still have terrible season after terrible season and never live up to it. Meanwhile even if Alonso is a 4*, if he starts raking year after year, he can become a high 80's type player and a perennial all star.

What I do in my franchise is at the end of the year I look at all the league leaders and such. If there is a guy who is only a 3 star potential but had an amazing season and is still relatively young, i'll bump his potential up to a 4 star. Same thing with a 4 star player.

Will be the first time I've ever done that, as I usually sim about month's worth of games (or more).
Its tough playing the full season what Ive found helpful is setting the franchise to 104 game per season, this way you play the same team twice and then you move on to the next team. 2 game series like these help because it gets boring playing the same team 4 games in a row. I also don't like simulating portions of the season so 104 games helps.

Exactly what i do. Enough games to keep interest, but not too boring at the same time.

Re: MLB 2K12 Official How's your Franchise Going Thread

I am now 2-2 with Brewers. I would be a lot farther but the promotion at work has sucked all my game time lately. just won in 14 innings against the Cubs. Had a 3-1 lead in he 9th and let up a 2 run homer with 2 outs darnit!!! pulled it out late and won 4-3. My team is hitting .174 2nd worst in the MLB. Ryan Braughn is hitting .136 with 0 HR 0 RBI and Corey Hart is hitting .167 0 HR 1 RBI. Need to get the bats going soon.
                    Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

I got to All star break, 2nd in east, 4.5 behind Philly. I have 3 all stars: C - McCann, 2B - Uggla, and 3B - Lawrie(even though he has been playing in right field for me). June was better to me as pitching and hitting were solid throughout month. Taking a breather for a few days, and will start 2nd half soon. Will post some stats later.

12-6 with the Dodgers so far. Got a 2 game set with the Giants who are in second place next.

Matt Kemp was on a 17 game hitstreak (31 if you want to extend through spring training), but went 0-6 in my win against the Cubbies.

I also don't like simulating portions of the season so 104 games helps.
I'm actually doing the samething, as I don't like to sim any games.

Due to 2k12 not being available in the UK as it is not region-free I'm still plugging away on 2k11, hope you won't begrudge me if I post in here though!

I updated the 2012 rosters online so thought I'd get a new chise started. Wanted a challenge and so decided to roll with the Mariners - they have an ace of the rotation and some decent young hitting.

I was tempted to abuse the dumb trade system and trade away 3 crappy players for one good one as you can, but decided not to, so all trades listed have been made using the 'trade finder'.

I immediately noticed we were deficient in starting pitching after Felix, with a pretty major drop-off! So I sent Gutierrez to the Pirates for James McDonald and Smoak to the Cards for Jaime Garcia. Also picked up Duda from the Mets in a swap for Kawasaki, so Duda will platoon with Figgins in left, as well as providing an option at 1st.

First game against the A's, and it was a proper pitchers duel. King Felix ran into a bit of trouble in the 1st as the speedsters Crisp and Cespedes got on base and stole 2nd and 3rd. However he struck out Reddick to end the threat. Anderson was hitting the corners for the A's and sitting down my hitters with regularity, so through 5 we were tied at 0-0.

However Ackley walked and Ichiro singled to set up 1st and 2nd with one out. Montero flew out but then Olivo came up with a single in right to give us the lead, although Ichiro was gunned down at 3rd.

Meanwhile, Felix was just getting stronger, striking out more as the game went on. However, in the bottom of the 8th, Crisp turned a single into the double and then got knocked in by Seth Smith making it a tied game again. We threatened in the top of the 9th, but a force at the plate kept the game tied. Felix was pulled after 8.1, giving up 1 run and striking out 13!

Top of the 10th and we blew the game open. Figgins got on and stole before coming home on an error. Ichiro then got on and was driven in by Montero before Olivo and Duda went back to back to give us a 5 run lead. Iwakuma shut down the A's and got the win!

On to the next game, this is awesome fun

So, a couple of series later and we're up against Texas. McDonald up for his first start as a Mariner. And it couldn't have gone worse. Pulled after 2 innings having given up 8 earned runs, capped off by Moreland's 3 run blast.

Game ended 10-3, we left with our tails firmly between our legs. Anyway, a few weeks later and we're the shock team top of the division! Starters are doing a great job, and Olivo is raking with a .400 avg, 25 RBI and 6 homers.

Then we come back down to earth. League blows some saves (after his 5th or 6th I went to the trade screen in rage and sent him and a AAA player to the Jays for Santos who was their set-up man). Santos has been shutdown in his place, but we're still bottom of the division in late May.

Can't wait for the draft, want to see what prospects we'll end up nabbing. Ichiro and Ackley are the top hitters at the moment, unfortunately my whole team is plagued my cold/hot streaks (how do you turn them off?) meaning some of them are truly awful...
