Just had a great pitching duel with Latos of the Reds. I now have my top two pitchers out though as Wainwright was injured in the first inning. I brought in newly signed SP Rich Harden and he pitched his butt off.

The Reds would get their only run of the game on a double to the gap that scored a player from first base. It caught me off guard as if I would have been paying attention, I probably would have nailed the runner at home. The CPU is aggressive at times and I need to pay attention more. lol...

It's back to St. Louis at 2-5 on the road trip, time to face the Cubbies in the home opener!

McCutchen isn't the only person with shafted ratings in the game. Got it today, looked at my Giants and went h²k as I saw that Melky Cabrera has a somewhat 50 power rating after hitting 19 HRs last year...

I'd run with the Marlins. They have some nice pieces in place like Stanton and Reyes, could be fun.

Currently 26-26 in my Yankees franchise. Sitting 3rd in the division 3 games behind the Rays at the top. Mark Teixeira putting up MVP numbers for me at the moment (20 HR 44 RBI .338 AVG) which is picking up Robinson Cano's slack for me despite him hitting at a decent .289 AVG clip he's only homered twice all season which is a worry.

I'm confident I'll reach playoffs but my pitching staff will struggle in the playoffs, outside of CC and Nova were lack depth in the starting positions. May look to upgrade my pitching with another legit starter to place next to CC and Nova.

I agree with Tom, and not because he shares my first name.

The marlins will be F.U.N. Fun.
Plus you get a new stadium to play in.
A nice mix of young and old.
And a chance to knock off the perennial favorite Phillies.

I'm the marlins in my franchise and they are really fun. They play a small ball with tons of speed but wit staton and morrison and buck hittings HR's. Plus there pitching is pretty good.

If your looking for a challenge then the Pirates. They are ranked in the bottom 4 or 5 in most Power Rankings and they have Vets on the mound like Erik Bedard and AJ Burnett then James MacDonalds a nice young pitcher as well. And Andrew McCutchen is a phenomenal player who you'll build you team around

Lost 2-0 to the Cubs and we now sit at 2-6 on the young season. We need to get our bats going!!!

Well I started mine with the Royals last night and I think i must suck terrible. I am using Mkarshs' sliders and in game 1 I got smashed 16-1. I had 5 errors but a couple were throwing cause I am not used to the throwing meter. Game 2 I went up 5-0 in the 2nd inning but gave up the lead falling behind 10-5. &th inning I hit a 3 run Jack with Hosmer and another rbi single from Gordon but fell short 10-9.

All in all I think I am going to start a diff franchise as I am not really happy with the Rosters I downloaded. Didnt have Harper on any of the National AAA.AA or A teams.

Can anyone recommend a good roster file with all the top 150 prospects and what not on the 360?

I've been a Show buyer for the past few years, but decided to go with 2k this year and am very pleased.

I started a Braves franchise and currently 3-1. With my lone loss being the season opener to the Mets.

My way of playing a full 162 game franchise is I play the first 10 games, then I play one "sim" five. This way I get to pitch with all of the pitchers. I will occasionally switch it up that way I can play a full game against each team on my schedule. I also don't actually sim the games. I "super-sim" them and intervene in the late innings if I see it necessary.

I'll post updated and look forward to reading others.

What a signing Oswalt was!!! Hit 3 hit the Cubs for 8 strong innings and after switching to batter2, zoom 8, I struck out only 1 time. Had two HR's and went on to beat them 5-0. What a game!

I made a couple of tweaks, base running to 50 (from AS default) and CPU IF and OF throw speed down to 50 and the game just feels like that perfect balance between realism and human intervention.

We need a big game from Lohse tomorrow!

Rubber game against the Cubs tonight.. what a fantastic game.

Lohse allows a run in the first on a double by Soriano that scores their SS from 1st base. I go ahead 2-1 on a bomb in the RF seats by Berkman who hits his 3rd HR of the season. Lohse gets injured in the 4th inning (I know some won't like all the injures, but I like the challenge it brings, now Carpenter, Wainwright and Lohse are all on the 15 day DL) and I go to the pen. Mcclellan allows a run to put the game at 4-2. Salas also allows a run on a long single that scores Soriano who was on 1st base, 4-3. I bring in Motte, looking for his 3rd save in as many chances.

Easy grounder to Furcal and he throws it over Berkman's head, hitter to 2nd base. Next batter smacks a shot that's just out of Descalo's reach, runner on 2nd was going back to 2nd base so he wouldn't get doubled off, so he only winds up on 3rd base. Next batter I strike out. Next batter hits one to Furcal and he starts the 5-4-3 DP to end the game!

I was so excited, it was a fist pump moment!!!

Now I have to figure out if I'm going to sign another FA SP or maybe give someone from AAA a couple of games in the bigs.

                            Fascinating game MLB 2k12 is.

Two wins in a row and we are at 4-6 as the Reds come to Busch for a 3 game set. I'm already dreading facing Latos.

                              MLB2K12 All-30 Teams Controlled Franchise:
                              Year: One
                              Exclusive Control: Phillies

Begun my "All-30 Teams Control" Franchise. Started it using MKHarsh's March 26th rosters....just couldn't hold out any longer.

I simmed to Opeing Day and kicked it off against the Pirates. Using my beloved Phillies exclusively in yr 1, and will see that Ryan Howard remains in AAA until 2nd half to simulate his injury. Also currently have Utley on a fake 15-Day DL to simulate his knee issues. Don't know when I will actually call him up, but will keep an ear close to the ground for when his possible return would be.

Onto the game....Bedard got the Opening Day start for the Bucs, and he was firing on all cylinders looking like the ace of old through 3 innings. However, he didn't get much help from his defense and committing an error himself, he allowed Philly to extend the inning in the 4th inning thanks to 2 consecutive errors. Shane Victorino would make'em pay with a triple to deep left center, scoring Halladay from 2nd and Polanco from 1st. This would be the only runs Philly would score, although threatening at other points later in the game.

Halladay was a tad shaky through 5 innings, but then would retire 7 in a row and finish with 8 innings of 1 run ball, allowing 6 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 5.

Jonathan Papelbon, in his 1st Save Opp with his new club, notched his 1st Save as a Philly striking out 2 in the bottom of the 9th with the tying run on 2nd.

Player of the game for Philly was Shane Victorino who produced Philly's only 2 runs.

Player of the game for Pittsburgh was Jose Tabata who went 3/4 with a double off Halladay and who scored the Pirates only run after a Halladay curveball in the dirt got away from Chooch.

Re: MLB 2K12 Official How's your Franchise Going Thread

I finished up season 1 with the A's and finished a strong 82-80. Only 2 games out of the last wild card spot. The season completely turned around once the all star break hit. We just kept winning.

Going forward My team has improved somewhat. My rotation is young and solid with Brett Anderson and Dallas Braden continuing to anchor the staff.

The offense is greatly improved with my trade for Freddie Freeman last year. I have some decisions to be made on players like Coco Crisp and Seth Smith. I could keep them all year and try to make a serious run for the playoffs or deal them and try to get value back. Seth Smith is more likely to get dealt. I like having a 1-2 of Weeks and Crisp.

I'm going to keep playing 1 game a week. It's worked so far and allows me more opportunities to tinker with the roster long term.
