Re: MLB 2K12 Official How's your Franchise Going Thread
Reading these is getting me itchy to start my franchise but I am trying to hold off to see if the option to upload our scores and blogs is reinstituted at some point, also the Reelmaker Highlight uploads.
Had a lot of fun with that on 2k11 until the 2k Community site came down.......I am itching though!Comment

14-6 with the Reds. Joey Votto is absolutely smashing the cover off the ball sporting a .409/6/13 line while Jay Bruce has a .349/12/23 line. Brandon Phillips has struggled a bit batting .221 and hitting only one homer.
On the pitching side, Homer Bailey has been the best thus far with a 3-0 record, 1.89 ERA and 23 strikeouts. Nick Masset has been a total dud so far, with his ERA being 10.33. Yucky
Having a lot of fun with the game.____________________________

Re: MLB 2K12 Official How's your Franchise Going Thread
Quick start to opening week, I finished today 2-4. I either score 1 run in a game, or 14. It's pretty weird, and frustrating. Holy cow can you get lost in franchise. I have one of the top 10 prospects in the game, a CF, hitting .450 in AAA. That's worth keeping an eye on.Comment

Started one with the Nats... Off to a 2-0 start. Simulated all of spring training, wanted to jump into the season. Played the Cubs the first two games, first game one 5-0 with Strausburg dominating. Second game won 6-4 with Jordan Zimmerman on the mound. 4 errors that game, but managed to pull it out. Morse and R. Zimmerman have been absolutely lethal so far. Really having a good time with it!!REDSKINS & WIZARDSComment

Off to a rocky start with the Halo's...playing spring training games to get my timing back. In Game 4 of the season and 0-3, just lost Howie for 2 weeks due to reaching out to snag a ball up the middle, he must of pulled a muscle. So Mizar is in his place. I feel my Pitching staff should hold up in the AL West but well see.
Using Bigjoes sliders - always does an awesome job each year. Also using mk's rosters..he is good when it comes to rosters...I'm not giving up on 2k, since this is the only game i can get this year...I'll go one time around at the plate with them!Comment

Re: MLB 2K12 Official How's your Franchise Going Thread
Okay here we go again. This is the last re-start. I think this one is going to stick.
I am now the Padres. They have some of the worst talent in the league, but one of the nicest ball parks. I'm excited by the challenge of making them a contender. Now that I have the editor too I can make free agency fun. Teams on 2k I find have too easy a time retaining their talent, so I can easily add some marque talent to the free agency pool.
Anyways, about my franchise. I am going to stick with default sliders and just alter difficulty until I get a good feel for the game. I do not pitch, I only hit, so I can play every game and plug away at seasons.
I simulated spring training and the Angels made me the following trade offer:
1B Kendrys Morales and Bobby Cassevah
for
James Darnell and Kyle Blanks
Not knowing who any of these guys are other than Morales* I didn't look the gift horse in the mouth. I know he's had injury problems, but Morales is a 5-star potential switch hitter with a reasonable 2-year contract. This is exactly the type of player I need to get.
I won't post frequently, but I'm hoping I can do monthly updates.
*This is the precise type of trade I need to start sinking my teeth into a franchise. It's not a huge, unrealistic deal, but it really has me thinking of other way to add some MLB-level talent to my team.Last edited by pistolpete; 03-18-2012, 09:50 PM.Comment

I haven't been a baseball fan in probably close to 15 years and haven't owned a baseball game since I had one on my sega genesis. For some reason I bought this year's game and I'm loving it.
Just started a franchise with the Braves and I'm 2-5 but I've won my last two games. Pitching is pretty ready, but hitting and base running is hard. I cost my self a lot of runs by but being patient and running to the wrong base. That might be s function of the game, but out seems realistic in comparison to the real life braves. Getting better at it though and scored 11 runs last game against the Astros.
Injuries ar a problem. My starting CF is on the DL 40 days, McCann just went down for a couple of weeks. Freeman, Hanson have been hurt and it's only a matter of tinge before Chipper joins that list.
So far I've only had one homerun (Heyward) and gave up one to Braun. I'm trying to get the hang of managing the organization...so many options in the franchise.
I'm having a ball right now though.Comment

Re: MLB 2K12 Official How's your Franchise Going Thread
I'm 8-11 now with my Braves. My pitching is backwards as JJ and Hudson are my two worst, Minor and Beachy are my two best, and Hanson is hurt and the pitcher that replaced in the in the rotation, Teheran, is also hurt. So Randall Delgado is now in my rotation after two injuries.
McCann leads my team with 8 HRs, Heyward has 4, and Uggla has 3. Bourn got one, but it was in the park when an outfielder dove, but came up short.
My pitching had been a bit poor on the year, but my last series against the Dodgers was nice. I lost the first game 7-3, but won the last two 8-1 and 5-3(in the 11th). So I kept them to 7 runs in the series, which isn't bad considering they were 2nd in the NL in runs so far on the season.
Uggla started out with 1 hit in his first 30 some at bats. His BA got as low as .039 with his lone hit being a solo HR. Now he has gotten his BA to right under .200 and has 2 more HR's along with a couple of doubles.
Hopefully my team is putting things together as I lost my first 4 series, but have now won 2 of the alst 3 series and have game 1 of 4 at home against the Pirates. So if I can sweep the Pirates, I'll be over .500.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Lol at Uggla...he is playing like real life. He sucks hard for a bunch of at bats, and finally gets red hot and makes his numbers halfway respectable.Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

Re: MLB 2K12 Official How's your Franchise Going Thread
First baseball game I got since 2k9.
Anyways I'm the Cubs and I traded for Upton from the dbacks. My season is going good. I'm 14-7 right now (52 game season) and the hitters are doing good. I started this rookie, I forget his name, but he has 94 speed. Really good at stealing. My team is hitting like .245 combined and my pitchers probably have an ERA of 3-4 avg. I have to look to see.
Outside of Garza my pitchers are eh. Kerry Woods and Samardzija are good ML and SU guys. I like them a lot, but my starters are getting rocked some games. I'm going to see if I can trade for a solid 2nd or 3rd starting pitcher. I was thinking of picking up Tim Wakefield off of FA.NFL 2k5 When Sept. Ends.

Re: MLB 2K12 Official How's your Franchise Going Thread
Glad I bought both games...
Started up a franchise tonight with mkharsh33's rosters dated 3/20 - nicely done, btw
Played one spring training game and then became engrossed into getting my team ready for opening day. Franchise looks to be well done and easy to navigate, I was even offered a couple of thought inducing trades, I declined both.. but I put some thought into them.
In my spring training game, I saw some really nice stat overlays and the commentary really expanded more so than say, an exhibition game. I had 13 hits though, more than 5-6 games with MLB 12.Hit variation is so much improved over previous versions.
It's about to storm here, so I'll get at least my first game in tomorrow. At this point, I've been going back and forth between games.. and there is something about this game that really makes me feel like I control the everything on the field.Comment

Re: MLB 2K12 Official How's your Franchise Going Thread
Not good. I have lost 3 straight in which I have scored 1 total run. I cannot get hits when it counts.
I also lost Orlando Hudson to a broken ankle for 6-8 weeks. Awesome how that actually matters because my team is so bad.
I am going to plug away and try to get better, but it might be 2014 before I can compete.Comment

Re: MLB 2K12 Official How's your Franchise Going Thread
I went on a bender today. I think I played (only batted) 13 games today. I am now 9-11. I have switched to classic hitting. I just cannot time the analog properly. I'll give up the ability to check swing to make it count when I actually make contact.Comment
