I do get hitching and stuttering. I thought this was because of the low framerate. The only time I'm able to raise the framerate is by lowering resolution in game quite a bit. Although, last night I was able to get 50 fps by going into "Adjust Image Settings with Preview" in the Nvidia control panel and choosing the "Let the Application Decide" setting (decide what graphic settings to select in regards to performances vs. quality). I'm going to order a 1 gb stick right now. We'll see if that helps.

      CPU: Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.80 Ghz

      RAM: 8 GB

GFX Card: ATI Radeon HD 5770

      OS: Windows 7 64-Bit

Resolution- 1600 x 900 (my monitor's native and max resolution)
      Window Mode- Off
VSync- Off (amazingly, it's not tearing at all so why not leave it off? )

      MSAA- 8x
      MSAA Quality- N/A
      Sideline Characters- High
      Shader Quality- High
      Anisotropic Filter- High
      Texture Quality- High
      Shadow Quality- Ultra High
      Particle Effects- On
      Depth of Field- On

My system is pretty much destroying this game.

Game needs a patch for performance just like 2k11. Hitching with my specs is ridiculous

        i7 2600k @ 4.6GHz
        16gb ddr3
80gb ssd and/or 2tb raptor 7200rpm (have installed to both)
evga gtx 680 sli (although game does not officially support sli)

When the camera switches views is when I get the hitching/lag. Its really annoying.

          Two possible fixes:
          1. Maybe SLI is the problem.
          2. Change in Nvidia Control Panel the option frames to render ahead to another value.

Unfortunately the latest drivers for the 680 does not have a profile for mlb2k12. However the game only utilizes a single gpu according to monitoring software. I'll try manually entering the .exe and give the frames option a try - thank you.

              CPU: E8500 @ 3.89 Ghz

              RAM: 4 GB

              GFX Card: GeForce 9800GT 512MB @ 800/1915/1091

              OS: Vista SP2 64-Bit

              Resolution- 1920x1080

              Depth of Field- On

I'm getting FPS in the low 80's. Honestly didn't see that coming. Too bad I can't play the game since my GPU jumps to 70C+ after 2 minutes of playing time. Definitely need to zip-tie a fan on it to keep the temps down.

              EDIT #1: Updated GPU clocks

EDIT #2: After zip-tying a fan onto my GPU (mine is an aftermarket passive one) my temps haven't been above 62C with hours of stress testing

70C is normal for 9800.This card can operate without problems even at 101C.When it reaches 102C there's an automatic gpu cooldown.

my pc is dated, big time. i can run NHL 2004 and thats about it LOL. it plays great for me, but now i have been getting an itch to play MLB2K and NBA2K on my pc.

with that said, what would i need to run these games silky smooth upgrade wise.

Keep from current PC: operating system, optical drive, monitor, hard drive, keyboard, mouse

Assuming you're in the U.S., if you build it yourself from individual parts, ~550$ (includes shipping) will get you a PC that would EASILY run those games and run others with nice detail. If you want I'll post the parts that I would use.
