Thank you so much!!! I was trying to find out what was wrong and couldn't figure it out but this worked right away. Just so everyone knows I play on Xbox 360 and the same solution worked for me. Thanks once again Wudl you are my hero. -

The things that make it through testing is just so damn embarrassing. The fact that I even have to do this for a game I paid $40 for is appalling.

Yes, it is annoying. But comeone guys. Everybody knows 2k has killed its baseball segment and the workaround is so easy. And to be honest: 40 bucks isn't the end of the world. You only have to think about the cash you (not you personally, just generally speaking) pay for alcohol, cigarettes and other completely unnecessary things. And nobody complains about that.
EDIT:

Unreal... I got a bit concerned and even had my son try the disc in his - same problem.

If you are signed into xbox live you cannot change the time settings manually - I'm on hold right now with the 2K tech support... I'll see what they say...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

I got it. Here are the instructions. But you can't sign back into xbox live till tomorrow. You won't believe this... After a lengthy hold time, I got a guy on the phone who was with their "tech support" - he said I was the 2nd call on this issue (mostly disgruntled My Player NBA 2K13 people calling). He said he wasn't sure what to do - but he went back into their room and said he would have to turn the game on and load it. (more waiting). He comes back and tells me to delete my settings, sliders, etc. - but not my rosters.
I get off the phone - do what he says... Try it and it DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!! Now I've pissed away those settings.... and the game still freezes.
He told me they "might have to patch this" - so it's an issue that's here to stay. 2K = biggest idiots on the planet. I'm really pissed right now...really am.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

I'm in...
Here's the fix (360 users - if signed into your Live account you canNOT change your clock settings):
1) create a new xbox NON live account
2) once saved, to go your console settings - system settings - date and time
3) change your clock settings to October 1st (date means nothing - but it MUST be a date when games are played)
4) Make sure you save the clock settings by pressing A
5) load game into your 360 still using your NON live account
6) on the menus (while loading) turn OFF the living rosters and auto save
7) game should now load and you're in
8) hit your silver xbox button to sign out of your account
9) sign into your xbox live account - you're good to go!!!
You'll probably need to do this each time you play this game...unless 2K miraculously provides a patch / fix.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

You can also play with your Xbox live account as long as you are not connected to live. I don't have wireless so I just disconnected the wire, this way I can still use my normal profile(rosters, sliders etc.) but since I am not connected to live I don't have to waste time signing in and off multiple times. I know a lot of you guys might not like(or be able to do this easily if you have wireless)but I'm just throwing it out there for those who would find it acceptable.Comment

Don't know if it is an indicator as I got the PC version but I tried out the 5th of october yesterday since the last bug occured only at ONE special date (you could workaround with setting the date before or after this day). And the 5th of october did not work for me.
It kept freezing.
