The problem with that video is this: if you're signed into Xbox Live you canNOT manually change your date. It automatically sets it for you... You have to follow the steps I provided above...

i had problems with this last night too....smh. i remember playing during the post season last year and they DID have playoff games scheduled on mlb today, so there was no problem and then this year, no games scheduled.....ugh! i checked online and some dude had the fix on youtube since i guess it happened during the all-star break too.

I don't remember that happening during the all-star break, then again I was recovering from a second concussion in July so I don't think I got on much.

There was something quite similar at the allstark break this year, but the game didn't freeze, it crashed to the desktop.

After looking over at the official 2K threads, I'm not sure if they're gonna fix this issue or not...

It was appalling to see a certain poster there treat people like garbage, yet watching a mod just tap dance around him, trying to act all polite. The whole thread got off target, and we still don't know what will happen with this.

2K should be ashamed, but they don't care... They'll just cut their losses and tuck their tail between the legs and move on... But at least some form of communication would be nice.

As far as I can tell 2k never was a company that was in a direct communication with their customers. There is a long, long history of them not talking in their forums. If I remember it correctly the Mods at their forums aren't even 2k employees, and they often do not know what 2k is working on or not.

We have a thread over at mvpmods.com that states the following:
"For everyone who might be interested, I just got off the phone with Brad from 2k Sports support.
They are aware of the date issue that is causing the game to lock up and not allowing you to play it.
(Ie; Having to set your computer date back to, or before, October 3rd to be able to play it.)

They were fixing it as we talked and he said it should be done by or before the end of the week.
HOWEVER, you will have to be connected to the Internet when starting the game up for the update to take effect. In other words, no Internet connection, no update.

While I had him on the phone, I also inquired about two other issues I curious about...

A MLB 2K12 patch for the PC: No patch will be coming.

Will there be a MLB 2K13: No. 2K12 is the final baseball game they will be making.

Well color me frustrated. I did the work around, but while I had the game open the controller wasn't working within it, and then it crashed.

The whole 2k12 game seems quite unstable, I am not sure how the date is affecting it.

I will be returning to 2k11 for my CPU gaming needs, the games are pretty much the same anyways.

Ohh, and this has to be a joke. 2k11 is crashing too!!!!

I am saddened. I couldn't even get 2 days into one of these games without experiencing issues.

This has to be it. It's frustrating, and very disappointing, but this has to be it.

Guys, it was a pleasure, and I was one of the biggest advocates for this game, but with neither 2k11 nor 2k12 working on my computer, it's going to have to be the Show.

I am running a small program in the background that sets and resets the system date before starting 2k12 and do not have any further issues. I do not understand why people don't use the easy workarounds that are available. The game is playable for me and to be honest I am more addicted to the game than ever before.

Mine still crashed on my franchise schedule when I had the date set to 9/1/12.

What program are you using?

I have not played my PS3 version in months...felt like playing today....FREEZE at startup...what do I do for PS3.....go to date settings and set it to OCT 1???? help !!!! please

I set the PS3 clock/date to Oct 1 ...started the game....ans turned off the living rosters, auto sign-in and mlb today (3 things at startup) and it seems to be working.....but will it eventually freeze in franchise?

bucs2nine it shouldn't freeze on you during franchise play but you will need to reset the date each time you start up the game
