PC would have been best version. It's unfortunate.

I've played 2K13 extensively at Best Buy and what I can say is that they either tweaked the shadowing/wrinkles on their own or they looked at what we did for PC and figured they'd just take that and modify it a little in the 3 month window they had to push a 2K13 title out the door.

I sure would have loved to have been a fly on the wall during that meeting.

Seeing as we're not really worth a PC port, or even a PC patch as 2K showed us last year, I'll just take the initiative and mod everything from 2K12 to 2K13 now.

sounds like a winning plan. I appreciate everything you and the other modders do for the game and us PC gamers.

Secretly, I was hoping that somebody would suddenly find 2k13 for PC at some store, with 2k releasing it without publicizing it. But, alas, it twas only but a dream.

Bizarre to say, but I'm glad they didn't. I have to admit, I bought Madden and NHL each year for the PC (back when they made them for the PC) and each year it was the same crappy port, missing any of the console features. EA stopped even trying, just letting suckers like me buy it anyway. Finally, they took mercy and stopped making a crappy port. Clearly, 2K would have done even less (judging from the fact they didn't even upgarde on the consoles). Feh. Either do it right or don't do it at all.

I can only assume that they don't make a profit on the PC version. That seems unlikelt, but why else completely shaft a section of your customer base that puts more effort into mods and coming up with ideas to improve the game.

So f*** you 2k (and EA as well). Oh for some indie develops to support!

So you go start a business and offer your services for no profit. Let's see how long you're willing to keep that up before quitting... sorry, before "shafting" your customers.

Only if you believe that they were not making a profit which as I said seems highly unlikely. Maybe the profit was just not big enough. It seems more likely deals were done with the console manufacturer which would be shafting customers.

Of course, it all just speculation on my part, and maybe they were running at a loss on the PC version.

You can bet they were running at a loss with every hockey and baseball game they made the past few years. That's why both games folded.
