I was going to start a franchise with the Astros, but if silver does one with them, I'll mix it up with a different team. Maybe the Royals?

I'll be picking the game up today. I'll be running with my hometown Royals.

Still ticked about that Wil Myers for James Shields trade, but I can't play with any out of towners.

I went to 9 Storm Chasers games last season and Myers hit a homer in every one. The only knock I saw was that he looked like he was scared to attempt sliding catches. Other than that, he was VERY solid. He looks a lot quicker, too, than yo uwould think.

Regarding the reditor lowering of anticipation, how do you guys balance that with draft classes in franchise; wouldn't the randomly generated draft class players have the usual anticipation ratings, thus creating an imbalance in future years.

Game 2 was against the Red Sox, and it was a pitchers game. Josh Johnson was amazing going 5.2 innings allowing 2 H, 1 ER and 10 K. Bucholtz took the loss going 5 innings allowing 4 H, 2 ER and 1 K. The game was tied until the 4th when Encarnacion drilled a 2-Run HR to make it 2-0. Johnson was balling until the last inning when he allowed back to back doubles to Pedroia and Ellsbury to make it 2-1. Janssen came in to get the 1 out save against Big Papi and win it for me ...2-0!

                    That's easy.
As soon as you're done your draft, you export the rosters to USB key, over to the PC to edit with Reditor II, and then back to the Xbox.
                    Done!

If I can ask, when Encarnacion hit his dinger, did you use power-swing?

Re: MLB 2K13: The Franchise Mode Thread

I kicked off my Yankees franchise today with the Spring opener.

Gonna use spring training to tweak sliders and to get a feel for guys who might make the team.

Faced the Braves and here's the game notes:

                      - I threw Pineda out there for a few innings as the starter, to see where he's at. He let up 2 hits [one a homer to bj upton] k'd 1, walked 1 . Had good velo.

                      - Jim Miller let up a two run wallop to Andrelton [Simmons looked good even in striking out] to cover the only other two Atlanta would score.

                      - Adam Warren [who for some reason is hispanic in this game] pitched two innings of one hit ball.

                      - I struck out ten times, but that will improve as I am still getting my eye and timing down so some of these K' aren't all on me. .

                      - Dan Johnson didn't get off to a good start in trying to grab a spot on the team, with 3 k's. All his fault.

                      - Youk was the offensive spark. Getting my only walk and knocking in Nunez with the only run I managed via a double. He also had a single.

                      - The aforementioned Nunez. Yep, he had an error.

                      - Defensive star of the game? Melky Mesa. with two highlight reel catches. He's got the VERY early lead on the 4th outfield spot. Mat Diaz who is looking to lock up an OF spot, had a single.

I'll check in after the next big news story,

oh, the alien heads are back....

Back at it down in Fla
This time v. the new look Jays.

                          What's Going On:

                          - Phelps is getting a look for a few inning as the starter. He has an outside chance at the 5th starter spot [battling with Pineda and Nova]

                          - We get another look at the 4th outfielder spot battle as Thomas Neal gets a start, along with Matt Diaz

                          On to the game notes:

                          a 12-3 loss.

Like the opener i get a first inning run. Thomas Neal doubled, was moved to third by Jeter and was brought home on a Grandy sac fly. I like that small ball. We might need to do more of that this year.

                          - 4th outfielder Job Update: Neal 1-4 Diaz 0-4

                          - Tex had two hits including a tex message for my first HR of the spring.

                          - Phelp got lit up and did not have it. But it WAS the toronto starters, who look MEAN.
final line 3.0 IP 5 hits 6 runs 3 walks 2 hr's. He did not help his cause.

-Joba had an effortless inning of relief against the 1-2-3 of the Jays lineup and it was good to see.

-Jeter had 3 errors. but its more the meter slider setting. I moved it to 10

Took two of three from the Cubs. scored 5 in the 8th with homers from Uggla (2) and Freeman (2) Kimbrel gets his 3rd save with a 1-2-3 9th

After 14 years of futility, I'm no longer embarrassed to say that I will be playing with my Baltimore Orioles!

I've played the first two Spring Training games of my 54 game schedule.

                                My goals in ST are:

to establish my 5th starter among Jurrjens, Matusz, Britton, Steve Johnson, and Dylan Bundy.

Determine if Nolan Reimold can overtake Nate McLouth in left or settle in as DH.

Find out if Brian Roberts is able to return to his former self and hold down 2nd. Or will Ryan Flaherty win the job.

Through 2 games, Flaherty and B-rob are neck and neck. Reimold is winning the job in LF with his bat, having CRUSHED a 3-2 pitch for a Granny against the Red Sox. Nate is playing well too and is the better defender. Still TBD.

Finally, Bundy is dealing. 2FB is unhittable. Struck out 4 out of 5 batters faced against the Sox. Leaning towards him right now, but still early.

Won both games. Beat the Phillies 3-1 with Adam Jones going 3-4 with a solo shot. Beat Boston 12-2 with 4 homers, 1 each from Reimold, Machado, Betemit, and Wieters. Despite the high score, the game felt legit as I only had 10 hits, 3 walks, and a hit batter.

Will try to get another in later tonight.
