Sorry gang. I'm not going to be back here to answer questions. After seeing how the staff behaves now (including giving out some blatantly false info in the "impressions" thread"), I don't think it's worthwhile for non-EA developers to spend their time here. I can't compete with red names who want to put the game down (or who are too lazy to fire up last year's game to actually compare, take your pick...or maybe they are so worn out from trying to make MVP live up to the score they gave it).

Anyhow, if you get the game, I hope you like it and maybe I'll see you online (yes, ours actually had to work in order for us to ship it).

This post is not in Steve's Forum because people probably want to know why their questions aren't being answered.

      Later.

I don't know even know why you keep ranting on everyone who doesn't like the game. So now, EA, IGN and OS are all corrupt? Give me a break. The job of a developer on these boards should be to comment on specific questions about the game. It should be procedural. You have a list, you answer directly. Instead your comments about everything from EA to now impressions by OS, just make you seem a bit unproffesional. If you can't handle looking at criticisms of the game, you shouldn't be on here IMO.

      <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

This isn't my job. I've come here on my free time, on vacation, weekends, etc. to try to give people correct info on the game so they can make an educated choice on what game to buy, and so that they can enjoy things in the game they might not have known were there otherwise. I could really care less how many copies people buy.
If I have to come here to keep staff from spreading misinformation, well, obviously there's a problem. I don't enjoy defending the game; I like talking about it and answering questions that don't amount to "why does your game suck?" Apparently I'm not allowed to have opinions, though...I'm supposed to be this Answer Machine who lives to serve you when I'm not working. Gimme a break. At least we can agree that I shouldn't be here.

If you look at all my posts, I don't hold back from criticizing parts of the game I don't like, so I don't believe that how I handle legitimate criticism is the issue here.

            Re: Any questions?

Sorry if I was a bit nasty there, but I definitely respect you for all the hard work you've put into the game. You guys don't get enough kudos for how much you do.

My point is that there's no way you can (alone anyways) control how people are going to talk about this game. Whether it be from Hilary Goldstein, the OS writer, whoever. What you are calling "misinformation" could just be another person's perspective. People miss things, people have different opinions. But to rant about how someone isn't professional or whatever, isn't the right path IMO.

I know it must be hard not to see a lot of positive hype yet, but trust me, people will give credit to what will likely be a very good game again. Ok, so maybe a few of us OS'ers might miss out on it, but I wouldn't worry about these boards in the big picture.

Anyways, I'm sure everyone appreciates you coming on here. Try not take stuff personally I guess.

                  FP,
In case you do decide not to come back i'd just like to thank you for taking the time the last couple of years to answer A LOT of our questions. I really appreciate it. I'm not trying to suck up either. I think it's very cool that a game developer can come to a forum and openly discuss most aspects of the game he helped create. I don't know what's going on with the fallout cause I just skip to parts where you answer questions so i'm of no opinion. I really hope that maybe you'll look into posting at the ESPN videogame forum. I think that would give their forum a huge boost. Also, i'm sure your not going to but i'll ask anyways, It'd be great to play against you online sometime, my usertag is senorian, maybe someday i'll be able to play a game against you. Thanks again for answering our questions.

I'm quite aware as to whom this is really directed at, and I'd like to address these attacks directly in kind.

As for giving out "blatantly false info" in an impressions thread - how can my "impressions" (read: opinions) be wrong?

"I can't compete with red names who want to put the game down (or who are too lazy to fire up last year's game to actually compare, take your pick...or maybe they are so worn out from trying to make MVP live up to the score they gave it)."

                        This is laughable.
As I've stated in my Impressions thread, I challenge anyone here to find a bigger supporter of Sega Sports over the year than I.
And as a fun fact, I actually had last year's game running on a screen right next to another screen running the new one when I answered the posters' questions.
Such accusations are completely unfounded, and unseemly to say the very least. I won't even dignify the pathetic "MVP" accusation with a response.

Everything may have been "re-done", however, in the build Sega sent us, it didn't appear dramatically different to me. I never addressed HR collision detection - but rather general collision detection in the game.

"Reason for delay is a couple online issues on PS2."
I wasn't even aware the PS2 version had been delayed. I knew about the Xbox version's delay...

This pandering, petty attempt to slander a website built from the ground up by unpaid volunteers (and ones, might I add, that have been labeled "Sega Fanboys" for years!) is completely reprehensible and unbecoming for a representative of Sega Sports.

If Sega doesn't want the free, prolific coverage and support for their games that OS has provided for years; doubtless an authorized Sega representative will inform us of such.

Until and if that moment ever occurs, however, I am compelled to stand up and defend the integrity and impartiality of this site, and the people who spend countless hours volunteering to make it into what it has become - the greatest independent site for sports gaming on the web today.

                            Later.

stadiums are completely redone. dirt and grass completely redone. almost all heads completely redone. HR collision did not exist last year so how can it be the same? new batting doesn't require much aiming on Pro, since default difficult is supposed to be easy to keep new players from being overwhelmed. and so on. Your info is as good as mine on the release dates. Reason for delay is a couple online issues on PS2. kinda makes you wonder how MVP got through Sony, but then again, EA releases such quality, bug-free games that Sony doesn't even need to check them, right?

I'm quite aware as to whom this is really directed at, and I'd like to address these attacks directly in kind.

As for giving out "blatantly false info" in an impressions thread - how can my "impressions" (read: opinions) be wrong?

                            This is laughable.
As I've stated in my Impressions thread, I challenge anyone here to find a bigger supporter of Sega Sports over the year than I.

I think FatPitcher is way off base here. Perhaps things are worse in Sega land then we are led to believe..

I mean God forbid... perhaps MVP got a better score because it might be the better game this year. OS has always received complaints (including by me ) of being pro-Sega so for him to say those things is quite amazing to me. Could he be jealous of MVP? Who knows..
