Notice I NEVER made a direct comparison between the two games. For all I know, ESPN kills MVP 2004 in every aspect.

The problem i am stating is that I CANNOT make the comparison because ESPN is NOT OUT!!!

Therefore, I as well as the 1000's of mindless media drones will go out and purchase MVP simply because it's available and ESPM is NOT. And SEGA does looses out on 1,000's of dollars because they didn't deliver on time. THAT is my gripe!!!

SEGA HAS TO GET IT!!! Right now, they don't. It's simply NOT SMART BUSINESS.

    Argue this point with me.

And if you have played MVP for any amount of time you would see the cost of releasing a game too early. FAR TOO many bugs. If you don't believe me take a look at the Bug thread in the MVP forum. ESPN made the wise choice in my opion. 4 weeks is nothing to wait if the game will give me 6 months- 1 year of playing enjoyment.

Sure looks like you are comparing it with that statement...

            Re: 2K vs. MVP

No game is better than any other game...all you can do is read reviews of people that have played the game( reviews are opinions ) and either make a judge off of the reviews...or experience the game for yourself and make your own personal judgement. Some people claim to don't care about reviews, they'll buy a game regardless. Others just stick to one paticular companies products, and actually whole heartedly believe that every other game just isn't quite THE GAME to get ,just because they have that "EA Sports" or "ESPN" logo on that.

I'm sure there has to be at least SOME people that liked the movie "Gigli", and that got terrible reviews. I see ESPN getting not so hot reviews, but who says that you yourself won't enjoy it. I can think of games that got low reviews that I loved, and games that got high revies that i hated.

Dead 2 Rights i loved, but it got low reviews.
Hunter the Reckoning got high reviews, and I hated it.
I beat that Bruce Lee game and enjoyed it, and everyone gave that game a 5 out of 10 or lower.

You get the picture....so buy whatever the hell you wanna buy. I have MVP Baseball 2004 and All Star Baseball 2005, and I'm having a blast with both. I might get ESPN as well...but I think i'll rent it first simply because i have 2 new baseball games already. I doubt ESPN wanted to release after all of the other baseball games came out. If they were getting hot reviews and previews I could see that they were thinking "lets save ours for last because we're hotter than fish grease...everybody's gonna buy our game regardless"...but they saw that they were getting mediocre reviews, ans saw that MVP was getting hyped to the sky...I believe only 1.WSB2K3 loyalists, 2.EA Sports haters, 3.people that are attracted to pretty graphics like moths are to light, 4. people that have no idea that other baseball titles came out before ESPN and 5.rich muthaz that can buy every single game that they want, will buy ESPN RIGHT away.

I'm not saying anything bad about the videogame, it might be awesome....but i fear that bad press and a late release will hurt it's sales in the long run. I don't want people to miss out on a product that might be a good game just because of the press or SEGA/VC's decision to delay the game.

You may want to give ASB a look if you haven't already. While it has its share of issues, most agree that it does get the "feel" right. But you can't go wrong with WSB either. I have alternated the two games the last few years.
