My favorite player is Barry Bonds. It won't be much fun playing with the Giants this year without him. I was looking forward to breaking records with him.

Mine, too. We'll just have to edit Joe Young the best we can I guess. I'm going to edit everything about him, including his age, just so it's right.

I could've sworn that the October build was old, and that the final version will have him as a righty thrower, switch hitter, Asian, and 39 years old. I guess I'm wrong though.

I'm a sim nerd. It started with Strat-o-Matic (the board game), then progressed to Hardball 3 (too many doubles and K's, not enough walks), then to Front Page Sports Baseball (hurrah!), then to Baseball Mogul, then High Heat, then OOTP. I also didn't play games in High Heat, I'd do manage only once or twice a year to get a look at my players.

Seeing how you enjoy the sim games. In the future will we be seeing some of the awesome features that were in the high heat series?? Like the minor league stats. minor league league leaders. boxscores for every game, etc, etc. I too rarely played the games in high heat, I would just simulate, and check out how players would progress in the minors via their stats.

That must be why simming in WSB is as fun as playing! I have my own franchise with the Yankees and play every game but I also find myself simming seasons with other teams. It's fun trying to build teams and win world championships in other cities (except Boston), seeing how your draft picks develop and trying to sign key free agents....for the lowest price possible of course....This new GM mode with Steinbrenner type owners sounds awesome!

I personally like to take crappy teams, simulate almost all the regular season games (except for a few because I like to play in certain stadiums and check out my talent), and see if I make the playoffs...if I do, I play a lot of playoff games. I also like getting rid of all my high priced talent frequently and trading for 19 year olds and developing them. I take alot of time on the draft and trading and stuff...right now I am on about year 15 with the Tigers. I lost for 5 seasons but then won several World Series...including one championship simmed where I also got the thrify and tightwad award in the same season. Anywaym that;s just what I do...I mix playing and simming because I like both...
