I remember when Sega announced they were releasing every sports game on the same day at EA sports to compete. That idea went out the window fast.

Yeah, that's why last year SEGA Sports won the Grand Slam title for having the best games for the 4 major sports games (NFL 2K3, NBA 2K3, NHL 2K3, and WSB 2K3).Comment

Re: Release date ...Does Sega wanna FAIL?
Sega has always been a bit funky when it comes to marketing and release dates. I agree that its a bad move on their part..but its always been this way. sega has some odd ways of handling their buisness aspect of things...You win some, you lose some

Re: Release date ...Does Sega wanna FAIL?
Ironically, sales have gone like this:
2001 (WSB2K2, DC) - ~140,000, released in mid-August
2002 (WSB, XBOX) - ~110,000, released in late May
2003 (WSB2K3, XBOX) - ~85,000, released in early March
Obviously, the change from 3rd party to 1st party made a difference, as did the increase in competing titles, but it's still kind of funnyComment
