Wow. All that anticipation for nothing.

I waited so long for this game, checking for news daily, sitting on these forums and others for obscene amounts of time, just drooling over any tidbit that came across. Everything I read had me convinced that this was going to be the game I wanted, the one I would play all summer long.

I couldn't have been more wrong.

I bought this game for XBox Live play, and XBox Live play blows.

You can't change the camera angle, you can't turn off the strike zone. You can't in fact, change ANY game options whatsoever.

The low-zoom angle, to me, makes it impossible to judge the speed of the pitch. And the strike zone is a distraction. These things can be changed in the single player game, why not online? You can't even change them in non-ranked games. So, for me, the most important aspect of the game, the pitcher-batter interface, is essentially ruined online. So the game is ruined online.

And so the game is ruined.

I'm glad I invested in the broadband adapter for the PS2. At least I can play MVP online, and that's actually pretty fun. The gameplay is pretty tight, and at least it gives you total control of all the important game options.

Sega. What the hell were you thinking!?

I'm sure some of you will call me a whiner or whatever, and that's cool. But the final reality of it is, this game is going back to the store this weekend.

I haven't even had it opened for two hours.

    This friggin blows.

This has really been the case in all of Sega's game this year. The funny thing is all the hardcore fans have complained each time, but they haven't made any change at all. I think this is because while it pisses us off to not be able to change stuff, it makes it much more accessible to casual gamers.

My guess is you can't change any sliders online at all, or do they let you do that this time around?

why would u be able to change sliders online. In every game onlyine i would never change sldiers nor expect them to be changed. You realize your opponent would have to have the same sliders as well... It wouldn't be fair for you to have different sliders than you opponent so its best to stay at default sliders.

As for strike zone, hot/cold zones, ect. Those should be able to be turned off, if they aren't than that is as easy "online only patch" that can be done whenever.
