First off, ESPN Basaeball 2k5 will be $20.00. The price hike will go into affect once the Next Gen Systems come out.

Secondly, this deal is great for Take2 simply because they now have the attention of EA Sports.

EA will have to step-up or they will get blown out of the water. We all know that VC & Kush are much better developers then anything EA Sports has to offer.

With the Next Gen Systems right around the corner, Take2 in my opinion has done a great job in putting EA on notice.

I just don't get why the cover athelete makes a difference. I want the best game (even if a Red Sock is on the cover - I'm a Yanks fan). And how is Jeter not a role model? You never hear him bash anyone else nor do you see him showboat or try to show someone else up. Jeter exudes class. Vlad is a class act as well, but, I disagree with your opinion that Jeter isn't. I'm not trying to flame you. If the cover althelete makes a difference for you, then go with the cover athelete you like best. It's all good.

Everybody outside of New York hates Jeter... Or I should say most people. It is just little things. It is stupid decision in my personal oppinion, that they are making about gameplay. The raising of the price. They might as well put Kobe on the front of their NBA game. I'm a huge Laker fan, but wouldn't be the last to tell you that was a bad idea, too many ppl hate him.

I'm cooling off a bit, I guess I'll still get this game pending good reviews from OS and Gamespot/1up, but I have just been displeased to say the least of the goings on over at TT.

It was the extra little step they went to say, "No more MVP Baseball for 7 years nomatter what!"

I'm sure Kush is still working their tales off to make a great game, and if it is good, I suppose I'll buy it.

It does seem a bit silly to boycot a game.

Maybe EA can do a backyard baseball game... Even if only for the gameplay...

I'm one of those guys outside of New York, and let me tell you, I hate the Yankees, and Jeter is the epitomy of a Yankee.

However, I respect Jeter. He's a great ballplayer, one of those guys any other team would kill to get on their own squad.

Deciding upon a game because of the box art is childish. If it bugs you so much, draw a picture of Vlad and put him in the plastic sleeve...

Maybe I am a little biased, but Jeter to me is a very good cover athlete, and very marketable. He's a class act on and off the field. Also, does it really matter who is on the cover? I mean really, it's hardly preventing me from getting MVP and Manny is on the cover. I guess it's just me, but stuff like that just doesn't bother me and I'm not sure how it could bother someone else either.

EA has dealt them a couple blows with the NFL and ESPN licensing, and if they wanted to stay in the running to be successful in sports videogaming, they had to come back at EA with an exclusive deal of their own. As much as I dislike it, just like you do (I love all the baseball games), there's really nothing that can be done and really Take Two had to go out and do this to save their chances of being successful in sports videogaming.

As for the $40 price tag, that's $10 better than most games these days....

1. Jets is more marketable than Vlad. I'm a Mets fan so I'm not homering. Vlad was on the cover of High Heat; I loved that game but how many copies did it sell? It's silly to think Vlad is a better cover athlete than Jeter. It's flat out homerism to think otherwise.

2. It's business- no reason to be angry at either EA or Take-Two. One company was going to emerge with the exclusive in both sports.

3. I feel the fact that Take-Two still allows OTHER games to be produced makes them that much better than EA, who shut out all effective competition in football. EA has prevented any competition- I value the fact that Take-Two allowed other competitors.

4. Complain about the $40 price tag when other games charge less. It was silly to expect $20 to extend for eternity. Seriously, where did you ever think that they were going to charge $20 forever?

Thats what I was saying, what wrong wit Jeter as cover athlete, he was the cover Athlete for Allstar baeball for years. Nothing wrong with Jeter at all, I think that Jeter was a great choice, and this is coming from a Mets fan

MLB will be still around, and I think it's better then ESPN Anyday, plus I thinnk this opens up the door for 989sports for people to really pay attention to there game now, since it looks like it will only be ESPN BB and MLB BB coming out for now.
