I'm not angry at TT at all I for 1 am glad EA got a taste of thier own medicine.Now EA will have a baseball development team that wont be bringing in a profit as TT will have with football.The profit TT will now make with baseball even though slim may keep the football program alive a little while longer.
Now I only hope TT can do it with Basketball before EA does you can be sure they both are trying as we type.
I understand its a lose lose situation for us gamers not to have compitition but we would lose tenfold if we allowed EA to take all 3 sports!

I'm with dguru on this. i was a little pissed when I read about EA getting nfl AND espn. I know they're in the busines to make $$ but it seems like what they're doing is trying to force thier competitors OUT of business. I say if EA wants to dominate the market, they should just MAKE A BETTER GAME.

i say hats off to TT on MLB, because they're just covering their asses. and it's not like their slacking off, because if you've seen the specs for 2k5, you know how awesome it looks.

i just wish EA spent less time worrying about exclusive rights and more time worrying about making good games, etc.

I don't think what TT was out of greed. It was a business move pure and simple just as EA's was in football.

Doesn't mean I like it. Doesn't mean I think it's good for the consumer. For us the people that pay for these games, competition amongst the developers is good.

It is what it is. Smart business move, bad for us.

In this case you could argue they had to do it to survive. A straight choice between making a baseball deal or being shut out of the sports genre completely.

I think Take Two had to do this deal so they could continue to be a force in the sports gaming genre. Right now EA Sports and Take Two are on top and the other companies are at the bottom ex. (989 sports). Take Two needed to show their fans that they won't give up without a fight.

It just makes me mad they added that little part in and crushed all my hope of seeing MVP again in the next 7 years.

I wanted to play this game and try it out, but out of spite I think I might just go with 989 only after this year.

It isn't just this announcement. It was the price raise to $40 and the announcement Derek Jeter would be on the cover. The worst cover athlete ever.

I couldn't agree with you more.........about Jeter being the worst player for a game cover or for anything. That guys ability is so overrated it makes me sick everytime I see him. Yes, hes a good shortstop, but he's only an average hitter in my opinion. Its always Jeter this & Jeter that..... I mean come on, everyone of those Yankee players are just as responsible for those championships as he is, in fact more so. I have nothing against the Yankees, just him. Thats enough about that, I'm always hoping that people don't mention that guy & get me started.

Anyway, this year I'll be getting both MLB & MVP, but after that it's all 989's MLB for me. I've hated VC's baseball games ever since they dropped WOW & went with BlueShift.

I wonder if Kush will add Jeters goony litle skip across the plate after every pitch inside? :y4:

I again don't see the point of worrying about the cover athelete. It doesn't change the way the game plays. I wouldn't care if your homeboy Beckett was on the cover even though he mowed down my beloved Yanks in World Series game 6 . All I'll say about Jeter is he is a gmer and a winner (that's all he cares about). Is he the best shortstop? No, but he just brings an intangible that can't be measured in numbers/stats. Are you telling me you wouldn't want him on the Marlins?
