A one week cushion when you and your competitor have done this sort of thing in the past is reasonable, though.

Again - they did this little dance a couple of football releases ago. This wasn't unexpected at all.

yea and it's still february. isn't it bette rto have these companies work on the games until the season starts? i doubt many people will play right now. so we end up once again with an inferior product

Then just dont buy it. Why does it matter to you if other people are happy?

I for one am very excited about the upcoming season, I think these games are perfectly timed because I would probably go out and get last years game again if they werent coming out now.

Well .... it would be better for them to work on it for two years, then release ...

But the economics of the sports gaming business doesn't support that. It's become an industry standard to release before the start of the season, and I doubt that will change anytime soon.

And this is what I'll miss most now that one company basically owns baseball and the other owns football. No more fighting over early dates, which benefitted us. Damn.

Reeeeal smooth Burgan lol. If you know anything about videogame development. You would know that companies dont work on a game up until the last minute then ship it out. They finished the game well over a month ago. Dont you realize it takes time to produce copies of the finished product? Package it? Ship it? etc. You basically cancelled your order for nothing. If the initial release date was April 1, and it came out tommorrow...maybe you should worry and thats still a small worry at that. I hate to rain on your parade and make you feel dumb about what you did.....but...thats just what you did. lol I sure hope you can still get your hands on it when it hits the shelves lol.

Burgan, where do you come off.....Spring training has started. Doesn't sound like you're a real baseball fan. Spring training means baseball has started and fans are hot for the game. I always thought the games should come out when people are pumped for baseball, i.e., spring training. Why should these companies wait until the actual start of the season? Is there some unwritten rule I'm missing. These companies work on these games all year.

actually i think the gameplay in mlb 2k5 will be spot on, its mvp that i'm thinking is going to be very bug ridden esp. after the crap they put out last yr., i mean look at all the gameplay killers that were in the xbox version of mvp last yr while espn had no game killers.
