A one week cushion when you and your competitor have done this sort of thing in the past is reasonable, though.Originally posted by burgan

i base this on espn other sports game swhich have been bug riddled recently

Re: why is everyone happy?
Then just dont buy it. Why does it matter to you if other people are happy?Originally posted by burganyea and it's still february. isn't it bette rto have these companies work on the games until the season starts? i doubt many people will play right now. so we end up once again with an inferior product
I for one am very excited about the upcoming season, I think these games are perfectly timed because I would probably go out and get last years game again if they werent coming out now.Comment

Re: why is everyone happy?
Well .... it would be better for them to work on it for two years, then release ...Originally posted by burganyea and it's still february. isn't it bette rto have these companies work on the games until the season starts? i doubt many people will play right now. so we end up once again with an inferior product
But the economics of the sports gaming business doesn't support that. It's become an industry standard to release before the start of the season, and I doubt that will change anytime soon.5WG | Facebook | Twitter | fiftytwoplays

Re: why is everyone happy?
And this is what I'll miss most now that one company basically owns baseball and the other owns football. No more fighting over early dates, which benefitted us. Damn.Originally posted by fossenA one week cushion when you and your competitor have done this sort of thing in the past is reasonable, though.

Originally posted by burgani just cancelled my order for mlb2k5. it's obvious you are getting shortchanged if they move up the release date. there will be many bugs in this game mark my word. most companies cannot get the game out on time let alone moving it up a month.
Reeeeal smooth Burgan lol. If you know anything about videogame development. You would know that companies dont work on a game up until the last minute then ship it out. They finished the game well over a month ago. Dont you realize it takes time to produce copies of the finished product? Package it? Ship it? etc. You basically cancelled your order for nothing. If the initial release date was April 1, and it came out tommorrow...maybe you should worry and thats still a small worry at that. I hate to rain on your parade and make you feel dumb about what you did.....but...thats just what you did. lol I sure hope you can still get your hands on it when it hits the shelves lol.__________________________________________________ ____

Burgan,
doubt many people will play right now
Burgan, where do you come off.....Spring training has started. Doesn't sound like you're a real baseball fan. Spring training means baseball has started and fans are hot for the game. I always thought the games should come out when people are pumped for baseball, i.e., spring training. Why should these companies wait until the actual start of the season? Is there some unwritten rule I'm missing. These companies work on these games all year.Comment

Re: why is everyone happy?
actually i think the gameplay in mlb 2k5 will be spot on, its mvp that i'm thinking is going to be very bug ridden esp. after the crap they put out last yr., i mean look at all the gameplay killers that were in the xbox version of mvp last yr while espn had no game killers.Comment
