The glitch again: with 2 outs and 1st base open, the CPU will intentionally walk your #8 hitter.
I have payed attention to this since reading your post a while ago and I honestly dont see it happen at all to me. There were 3 chances last night where I had my #8 batter up 2 outs and noone on base and the CPU pitched to him.
I have seen some situations where the CPU has walked some players where I felt it wasnt neccesary, but the situation you described doesnt seem to happen with me? I did notice the CPU seems to like to walk a batter with 1 out or less and a runner on second base. Which makes sense to try for a DP situation , but they do it a little too frequently.
I think its just a randon thing. Plus Im sure a batters confidence meter plays a role in there too.Chicago Cubs

Originally posted by baa7There are huge bugs etc. no question. But unplayable? Not for me ;-) I plan to simply turn injuries off when I play a season. Not realistic, sure, but still very playable.
I feel like I have to play w/no injuries too, but that doesn't bother me so much, as I get to see how a season would turn out if ev'one's team played with all their peices in place for a full year. In that respect, I don't mind the "fantasyism."
On the GLITCH side of things, I also experienced the walk to the #8 hitter with the #9 guy on deck and 2 outs (and no one on base). I was playing as the Padres vs. the Rockies. I wonder if this also happens in the American League or is this just a glitch where the CPU is automatically trying to "get to the pitcher," regardless of the game situation.
A second glitch left me seething: There is 2 outs and a runner on third. I hit a weakly hit ground ball that goes past the left side of the mound headed directly for the shortstop. But the shortstop runs away from the play and towards second base to cover the second base bag. And the secondbaseman runs across the infield to field the ball. Of course ev'one is safe and the runner scores. But the SS should have just charged the ball that was hit in his direction - he would have had plenty of time to throw the runner out at first. Grrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, I mentioned in another thread, a "passed ball" in the outfield (w/ pop fly lock off) rolled to the outfield hill at Minute Maid park and suddenly the text "Home Run" flashes across the screen. On a ball that rolled to the wall?!!? Grrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!
Lastly...forget it, I'm tired of talking about the glitches right now.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: Official "Bugs"/"Glitches" Thread
I just played a game today with the marlins and ended up losing. In the post game box score Dontrelle Willis was given a loss and he didn't even pitch in the game. WTF? Also it listed the save going to Marlins backup catcher Matt Treanor. What the hell is this? Is this a common thing guys to give people that didn't even pitch losses?Comment

Re: Official "Bugs"/"Glitches" Thread
While playing in a franchise, any pitchers I edited have their walks rating go down to nothing during the first season player progressions.
Anyone else notice/fix this glitch?Oakland A's - San Francisco 49ers - Golden State Warriors - Stanford CardinalComment
