Usually one of the guys that is duplicating one of the positions (say you have two CF's showing) is a minor leaguer. I find if I cut that guy to FA, the prob resolves itself.

i think there is something wrong with the default lineup, so try this. change one minor leaguer on any team and save that roster. use that roster everytime. you might as well, move sosa and ordonez also.

i had a lot of problems with the default roster and after i did that everything has been a lot better.

                Question:

I have the PS2 version. I noticed a couple of wild pithces/passed balls so I immediately changed the slider for CPU errors to 50 (I heard that's the fix). I haven't seen any more since then, however, I'm wondering what effect this will have on the overall number of cpu errors.

In my last game, the CPU was credited with only 1 error, but there was a key play (not called an error) where I hit a sharp single to CF with two runners on base, the ball bounced and went right pass (or through) Carlos Beltran and to the wall, allowing both runners to score easily. It's happened more than once - is this something that happens a lot? Does the outfielder just misplay the ball? Does anyone have a fix? Or is it somehow related to the errors slider?

No, Sammy Sosa, Brady Anderson, and Giambi had the same problem - it's called "getting off the juice". Nice touch by Take Two to include a some of the steroid controversy in the game.

know EXACTLY what you mean...not many people are talking about this issue right now (b/c we have finally found tweaks that allow us to get the most enjoyment out of the game) but there are occassional PAST BALLS IN THE OUTFIELD with the CPU errors set between 40-50. They are not recorded as errors by the CPU engine but it's plain to see to any reasonable person they they are errors. If you watch the replays like the ones (you described) Beltran was involved in, you'll notice the ball passes by/through the feilder in the same way it would pass through the batcatcher on the wild pitches.

It happens far less frequently for me than the passed ball thing did, but when it happens, it's still annoying. The only thing I do at this point (mainly b/c I am enjoying the game and tired of tweaking) is pretend that the outfielder lost the ball in the lights or something.

Hi, I've noticed players injury lengths not changing. I have several guys who simply have not had any time shaved off their injury length. Currently I am in season mode, 4/26, control all teams, and usually gamecast every game on the calender except for O's games, which I play. It doesn't happen for everyone, but it does happen, right now Joey Eischen is out for 10 days, same amount of time as when he got hurt in 4/6. Obviously, this could be a fatal flaw, anyone have any experience with this? I won't get into the other problems with this game, but if the injuries are for longer periods than we are notified for, or worse, permanent, this game is flat out unplayable-every injury would be like russian roulette as to when or if that player came back. Very upsetting.

Update regarding the 5-pitch pitcher glitch (the thread I started yesterday, now locked): it happens with all P's apparently, just not all the time... maybe 80%.

The glitch again: with 2 outs and 1st base open, the CPU will intentionally walk your #8 hitter.
