First pitch I threw the game locked up with nothing but the commentary loop of Joe Morgan. Frustrated, I turned my xbox off and decided to wait awhile before I played again. Tonight, I sat there for at least ten minutes trying to get my dying DVD drive to recognize the game (anyone know how much you can get at EB for a trade in on an otherwise perfect Xbox?). It finally read the disk and I went through the process above to get the soundtrack working. Well, I had an awesome game that came down to me breaking a 0-0 tie in the seventh inning. I headed into the ninth 1-0 and brought Mo in. First pitch- GAME LOCKED UP AGAIN!

Frustrated doesn't even describe how I feel.
I know how you feel. I have that same problem (my refurbished XBOX was released in 2001) with a lot of my games but thankfully not so far in my copies of MVP 05 and MLB 2k5. *knocks on wood*

Mine started to go a few weeks ago. But, it was really the game lockups that upset me. Hardware is expected to eventually breakdown. Brand new games are not.

Just loaded the save file today and the game was played, because my record is 1-0 and Cleveland is 0-1, and Rowand's three homer game is shown on the around the league page, Buehrle's stats reflect his opening day start, yet the game is still on the schedule, Buehrle and Millwood in fine health and ready to play again. And if I sim the game out, it once again plays out the game, logs the stats, yet the game is still there on the schedule, ready to be played again. I thought maybe it was a corrupt save file, but I had a seperate save that I made before playing that game, and if I load that one and sim the game out, the same thing happens, game is recorded, but on the schedule it's there to be played again. Anyone else seen this?
yup. Only, my recurring game came a month into the season. Theres' more problems. See next post.

                Re: Official "Bugs"/"Glitches" Thread

I have come across a couple strange bugs with the simming in GM Career Mode. (Haven't tested this in Franchise mode, but I assum it's the same).

When you're on your "Schedule" screen, Do not choose to "sim with news" on a Tuesday. If you do, the previous week's "Players of the Week" will not be recorded. (Maybe not a big deal to some of you, but it kinda kills the immersion factor for me.)

Also, I've had problems whenever I sim to the first scheduled day of baseball in each month. Whenever I do, the game won't show the previous month's "Players of the Month."

Annoying, but as long as I avoid simming on Tuesdays, or the first day in each month, I've been okay. lol.

LOL of all glitches, this one just sounds the weirdest.

"The previous Players of the Week won't be recorded if you simulate with news reports on a Tuesday."

It's like the most random glitch ever.

That sucks, though, as that's what I've always done in the past.

I've noticed that too, I have yet to have anyone show up in player of the week.

Man, I hope T2 takes a look at these boards and gets working on some fixes, because I had a fantastic 14 inning game last night between my Bucs and the Reds. So much potential, but the bugs keep dragging it down.

$30 trade in for an XBOX with a bad DVD drive. I know, because I just traded mine in a month ago since Halo 2 and ESPN College hoops were unplayable on my old box ("Failed to Load Map" in Halo 2 and constant freezing in College Hoops). Since the trade in no problems with any games.

You can just replace the DVD drive, but a non Thompson drive runs in the $80-$100 range, and I decided it would be better to just get a new box.

I've got a Phillips and it doesn't seem like it's got much life left. Sometimes it will load on the first try three or four times in a row, while other times it takes forever to get the game to play. Maybe the laser is just dirty?
