i haven't noticed the problem with 1st basemen, at least not as bad as 3rd basemen.

Well, I’m sitting here watching a CPU vs CPU game after bumping up the Fielder Aggression slider to 100. One team bunts, and the 3B charges in and fields the ball…

I’m going to bump up his Anticipation rating as well to see what happens.

Grrr... I'm getting very frustrated having to continually tweaking the sliders to get this game to play something which resembles basebal.... BTW what bunting sliders are you using? I've been moving hem all over the place and cannot seem to find a happy medium... CPU will not bunt in obvious bunting situations.

The brats (not mine either… bah! ;-) are on the Xbox right now so I can’t check, but I believe I lowered Hit and Run to 45 and raised Sac Bunt up to 65. Not that I’m sure that’s helping any because the bunt logic seems hit and miss. But I ran a quick game using CPU teams and saw maybe 4 bunts, so something’s happening.

The individual Anticipation player fielding rating apparently makes the fielder either charge the ball immediately (up) or delay a moment or two before charging (down obviously :-). So with Anticipation ratings up for the corner guys and the Fielder Aggression slider @ 100, I’m hoping that’ll help.

BTW G: you realize you and BFG will now have to come up with CPU team-specific sliders. Which MLB teams hiit and run a lot? Which teams sacrifice more? And teams that rely on HR's could probably have their AI Power slider bumped up a few points. The "Blue Jays" difficulty setting for example will have AI Contact set somewhere beteen 20-25 and, now that Carlos is gone, Power @ 3 :-)

                    Get on it...

I love the idea of adjusting player ratings to where you can get players to play aggressively, etc. Unfortunately, doing this won't work for online games because you're stuck with the rosters that T2 gives you to play with.

Too bad we can't play online with our own amended rosters. It's still a fun game to play, though. My buddy and I are having a blast!

i'm wondering if part of the problem is the fact that the pitchers are so quick to run to field anything near them that the 3rd baseman then sees this and figures he doesn't need to charge in, maybe editing a pitcher to where he's not so quick off the mound (if thats even possible)might force the 3rd baseman to charge, i was reading that flying finn is going to pick up the game and look into making an editor, that would make things a lot easier.

I should have mentioned I edited all my P's fielding ratings to below 10. I'm not sure it's affecting the 3B thing... but an awful lot of hits up the middle get by the P now :-)
