The game stops at the hitting and pitching interfaces.

This is the first thing that comes to mind when giving this game a mental grade. How could Take 2 screw up such a strong series so quickly? The whole game feels like a scripted cartoon gone bad.

Well personally I like the K-Zone pitching especially from the pitcher view. My eyes aren't that great so sometimes I can't tell where the outlines of the K Zone box is. Depending on how you set the speed of the crosshairs it's challenging.

The hitting may be a bit easy tho.

You sound disappointed... Maybe you should move on to one of the other games available on the market.

        Problem solved! ;-)

Are you refering to the new batting cursor? Because that's the only option that has changed since the WS2K days. The old pitching modes are all there.

I think you need to read my post again. The game STOPS with the pitching and hitting interface. The modes in general might be the same, but they are improved. However, beyond that once the ball is in play the quality of the game really goes downhill fast.

Right, okay... I see what you're saying. I agree something scripted seems to be happening -- and I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to stop all that pre-programmed nonsense. Sure it's downhill a bit, but not that far down :-)

I've seen your sliders and appreciate your efforts. Unfortunately, developers *still* haven't figured out how to write their game in such a way that different elements of the game can actually be edited with sliders. There seems to be a lot of scripting occuring for different facets of the game, whether you adjust sliders or not. Also, there aren't nearly enough "functional" sliders available to compensate for the poor A.I. that is programmed into the game.
