Have you seen the thread on the front page about increasing contact sliders more than power? I'm interested to hear if you have an opinion on this theory?

I could have had another shut out but pushed James because he was second up in the bottom of the 8th. Anyway had to bring in Villarreal after James gave up 2 hits. Villarreal gave up a hit that gave up the lone run and he later got a hit in 8th and then Chipper hit a 3 run shot.

Classic and doing exactly what you said just hitting the A button. I am not pushing the left stick in any direction. Why do you ask?

Just wondering because sometimes I'm not sure who is using classic or swing stick with these sliders. I prefer Classic myself. Also did you use contact and power at 25/25 or 20/30?

Human power at 30

I have updated my setting with what you posted last, if that is what your are asking.

Dan, I tried the new settings of 20 contact and 30 power and I struck out alittle too much.
I played 2 games last night one with the Reds vs Yanks and I lost 8-3. I struck out 14 times with the contact lowered to 20. With it at 25 I was ave. about 8-9 k's per game.
I did hit an absolute bomb with Griff in the 1st and one with Dunn in the 8th.
Also I liked the cpu power upped, I really struggled to get outs. Milton only lasted 4 innings and gave up 6 runs and 2 hrs.
Again I am using classic hitting.

Jake, with the contact at 20 the thing I notice is that if I chase those low outside pitches I will miss them and that is causing more strikeouts which helps me stay patient at the plate now. If you dont like it at 20 then use the 25 because that works well also.

If it was not for my pitcher striking out twice it would have been 3 k. I try really hard to not strike out at all but my strike out totals go up 1 or 2 because of the pitcher batting at least twice. No matter what he strikes out for me...like once or twice I can get a bunt down.

Just started a franchise game with these sliders, and Pierre jacks a high fast ball out to lead off the game. The 3 games before he was struggling at the plate to get a hit !! I'll see how the rest of the game goes......btw, using swing stick and rolled it right, and not up.

Dodgers struck out 5 times

...seemed like the just releasing the swing stick was a hit more often than not, especially when there was 2 strikes on my batters. 7 Doubles in the game, was a bit too much, think it was attributed to the slower speed of the OF's. I also thought the AI batters were horrible. 1 hit for D-Backs, and they hardly made contact. I'll do some adjusting to see if I can get these taylored more for my liking. Good sliders regardless, thanks.

Did some tweaking before my next game, and it was MUUUCH better.

Dodgers (me) @ Rockies

COL 2R 9H 0E

Rockies homer in the 2nd to take lead. Dodgers push across a run after Pierre triples and Fucal sacrafices him in to tie. Scoreless til the 8th when LA loads the bases with no outs. 3 hits push across 3 runs, and take a 4-1 lead. Rockies homer in the 8th to pull to 4-2, but Saito closes it out for the save and the win. Much better overall game, Rockies had 12 K's and Billingsly gives up 1 run over 7 innings. There's a couple of sliders that I'm gonna check out and mess with to see if I can get it "just right", but overall a much better game experience. Actually needed some strategy to get the win in this one, and its nice to see the other team spread some hits around with a homer or 2. Thanks again for the foundation of the slider settings, it made the game much more enjoyable. BTW, I turned off Dynamic play or sliders (whatever it's called) and I think it help, as the game didn't change according to how I was playing.

Last thing, in my previous game, where Wolf had 16 Ks I didn't get the achievement. It says you have to play on Pro or higher, and I don't know if custom counts as a "higher" level than Pro, but I got the Strike out the side achievement yesterday, and I was playing on custom sliders also, so I don't know what gives there....if anyone has any info please share. Thnx

What are you current settings for both human and cpu hitting?
I have been using 20 contact and 30 power for human batting the last 10 or so games and I am hitting too many hrs. (I have ave 5 hrs per game)
Also are you using 50 and 55 for the cpu?

His sliders ONLY work if you don't use the L stick at all. I find it hard if not impossible to believe your averaging 5 hrs a game w/o using the L stick at all for classic hitting. If you use the L stick this game is just an HR fest. However, w/o using the L stick at all I'm getting a nice variety of hits but now not enough HR's...and I have human contact/power at 35/50.

I have no need to lie about how many hrs I hit while playing a video game!
I am telling you tho I have played 10 games now in my Reds season with these sliders and I am hitting .333 as a team and I have hit 47 hrs.
