So are you using these sliders dkrause?
Also JT are you using zone or zone 2 when pitching?
Nevermind I just read in another post you are using zone 2.
Also dont you think the human pitcher difficulty should be turned down?
This slider is for how good the human controlled pitcher is, with it at 100 it is not making it harder to pitch it is making it harder for the cpu to hit us.

If you are looking at the pitcher difficulty under "Player Options", that sliders makes it harder for you to hit computer pitchers

I dont think it does, when I read the definition at the bottom of the screen on the pitcher diff. slider it said the difficulity of the cpu hitting good pitchers.

Jake what you are talking about is under AI... and I have that set at 5.

What Crasmack told you before is correct... and that should be set at 100.

These are the sliders i have used the most. Right now i am using these with some tweaks but still not sure i am 100% happy with them yet.

Re: JT Sliders - Final Version

I'm going to have to make a couple tweaks for my own skill level (mostly pitcher fatigue... I can't get anyone out of the fifth inning right now), but this is the best base set I've tried yet. They definitely shine in both hit variety and fielding, where suddenly animations look smoother, catches at the warning track are actual highlights instead of commonplace, and the balance between fielder arm strength and baserunning speed seems right on. Well done.

I'm also happy to see some unintentional user walks with Zone-2 pitching, and while the player/inning highlighs were jettisoned for the sake of day/night progression, I like the pace of the game better without them. You still get the good action replays, which is all I need in that department.

It seems like you put a lot of work into these.

I will give a low Pitch Diff a shot. The lowest I've gone is 50, the lower I go, the less I like the ball physics off the CPU bat, 65 seems to be optimal for me, 50 is good vs a 90+ skill Batting AI.

I've read that some believe the higher, the more effective the star pitchers vs the cpu, but I actually think the higher, the better the cpu contact, no matter who's pitching. Just a trend I noticed over dozens of games, could be just me. Also the Higher, the more foul balls off the cpu bat, again these are my own obvservations.

I'm very close, but there's so many possibilities batting-wise (cpu & human) I think I have it narrowed down but I'd like to test with a good variety of teams and game modes. Hopefully by Opening Day I'll have something decent.

these sliders are a lot more realistic and i like em...but still the computer isn't hitting very much and when they do hit they only get their runs on homers =\

                      any suggestions?

Hey man...this is probably the best slider set I've used so far. I've only played a few games with 'em so far.. and they've all been very realistic. I'll get back to ya once I've played some more. Thanks again for the good sliders.

Re: JT Sliders - Final Version

Ok guys, so I just got back into the flow of playing this game again, and I must say, it's much better than people give it credit for.

All that aside, concerning these sliders, what should I do if my pitchers are continuing to get pounded with hits game in and game out. Now granted I am Atlanta, and the pitching staff is weak, and also I have opened the season with series against the Phillies and Mets. And no, I'm not one of those people who have never played the game before. I've played baseball games for years.

Could it just be the talent of the other guys? I mean the Mets and Phillies are pretty loaded with bats. What sliders would you recommend tweaking?

Hey fly, I play with atlanta as well and I was having the same problem. Personally, using zone pitching with the interface speed set to 100 was just too hard for me (especially once my pitcher got down to 50% or so) and I just wasn't pitching very realistically.

What I did was change the pitching interface back to payoff with the pitching interface speed left at 100. This is working pretty well for me at the moment. Tho if you really like zone pitching I would recommend dropping the pitching interface speed down to 80 or 85 and/or switching to the zone 2 interface.. which I think is a little easier.

Hope this helps man. Tho if you're not having any trouble with the zone pitching at an interface speed of 100 then just ignore everything I said.

Thanks for the help man. Decided to go back to the pay-off pitch interface, and have since won 5 straight. My pitching has definitely improved. But besides that, I gotta say, these are excellent sliders. All my games are running very smoothly now, and most of them have been close.

Now if I can just get Wickman to figure out how to stop blowing saves in the ninth.
