Try increasing AI Pitcher Difficulty anywhere from 5 to 65... I have it at 50
No,I seem to get alot of really short innings cause when I pitch near the strike zone they make contact and i get an out

I see, yeah definitly put up pitch diff then. Also you should probably pitch as your catcher calls the game if you're not doing that already, you should get more swings on pitches outside the strikezone.
lastly you can decrease the "take ball overall" slider for the cpu batting.

ok thanks, close to mine except i have take strike overall higher at 45-50, you aren't finding they swing at the 1st strike all the time at TSO set at 30?

No funny enough, I don't find that they swing enough at the first strike lol
I get guys that rated F that sometimes watch the first strike go right by. But overall, I find the Batting AI very balanced with those values.

Re: JT Sliders - Final Version

Thanks for the advice Kama. I am having much better luck getting the computer contact down. I am really having to work the count and they swing and miss some now. Much more realistic games now. I love these sliders. I had been using others but still had much too easy of a time hitting. I really gotta work for my runs now although i am getting a few solo HRs late in the game. But I use the Brewers and with Hall, Jenkins and Fielder they usually seem to have one or two guys step up for a longball at some point.

Good to hear. Working the count is my favorite too, since I pitch where there catcher calls 3/4 of the time, it also contributes to the starter's total pitch count and keeps things a little more realistic.
I agree JT's sliders are great, I just finished a few games with his settings, they are truly well balanced. Personally I would recommend them above anything I've seen so far for anyone looking for a complete package.

I have not tried the other settings but I know these are great. Don't need to really try 500 different versions of sliders so long as the ones in this thread work. I will admit, I have a few settings that I found a personal preference for and didn't adjust but i am using a lot of these and they make the gme great

As for sliders I have done then from scratch with hot/cold teams off. They are very unconventional, compared to what you find here.
I prefer a more hits on both sides type game, with the maximum hit variety.

Here are my current sliders as to offense (both teams), I vary between 2 sets for human/cpu.
Human (contact to pitch diff).: 40-25-30-30-55-80 or 35-15-30-25-55-90
                    CPU (Skill, cont.,pow.,pitch dif.): 90-40-50-50 or 60-35-55-65
CPU Pitching (corner, chang spd, str ovr, str ahd, str bhd.): 60-80 (or 90)-30-50-60
                    Human Pitching Interface Speed: 100

As for fielding/defense I have everything toned down equally on both sides.
                    Some stats that I like...
Average hits depending on team (CPU): 7-14 [Same on my end.]
Avg Dives / game (CPU): 2-3
Avg HRs per team: 1-2 (sometimes none)
                    Batter K's: 6 (CPU) me (11)
                    Walks/game: 3-4 (CPU), 5-6 (me)
Last game I counted foul balls: CPU 21 total (avg 3-4 fouls per inning depending on who's pitching, what team I'm facing), me 17 total.

I will in a new thread shortly. Still tweaking (48 games played so far). I'd say another 10-15 games and I'll post.

Oh and let me appoligize right away to JT for hijacking his thread (wasn't intentional). I have tried his sliders verbatum last few games, they are excellent, especially if you have a very high powered team (Bosox, Yanks) and want to tone down the "arcadiness" of the game.
Kamasutra, do you know how soon before you post your sliders?

Well I've played 55 games so far, honestly I would of liked another 15-20 games under my belt before I could post something decent. My plan was to try to control a few more teams in the NL & AL (4 or 5) and test the sliders out further.
I've pretty much narrowed down the Defense & Pitching. The thing is, I have different sets of sliders for the batting, human & CPU, that I like. Testing those out constantly requires alot of games to average things out. I don't change the batting sliders mid-game, I like 2 play 2-3 or more games with the same set...
I will probably end up posting quite a few alternatives to the batting sliders, simply because it depends so much on 3 factors: What type of hitter you are, what team you are playing and what game mode you're in.

Since a few have requested them, I might speed things up and post as early as tomorrow or as late as next weekend. Thanks for your interest

I personally would like you to test them out completely, using your method. Hopefully then you will have one good set. What say u.

Meh don't care for these sliders....zone pitching although more realistic, is not really tweaked well so if you miss accuracy, the game decides that you will just throw a meat pitch thats easy to hit rather than a ball way out of the zone. Too many doubles and homers now too. Sorry, I'll stick with your ver.2 sliders I think they were better. No offense.

Could lower the pitcher interface speed i would imagine. I am getting hammered on Zone2 and 100 interface speed too. I am going to lower it to 70 to start. I don't mind 4-6 walks but i leave like 2 meat pitchs per inning

I updated my sliders on the first page... new values next to the arrow sign. I am using these sliders in my season as the Red Sox. First 3 games.. 6-1 W, 4-0 L and 6-5 L.... all great games. First game I was hitting well ad scored runs early and then cooled off in the later innings but pitched well enough to win. Second game I couldnt hit anything... Third game was back and forth and I did rally in the last inning but came up short. There were a total of 22 hits in that game, but there was also 14 strikeouts. It was crazy.
