Re: The OS Breakdown of the 2K Slider Theory

is there a way to check on the distance of homers? i feel like i remember it automatically showing up during homers when i first bought the game, but shortly after i switched to these sliders and haven't noticed it since.

Re: The OS Breakdown of the 2K Slider Theory

Just wrapped up my first game using these sliders.

      Teams: Mets (me) v. Cubs

      Mets : 7 | 10 | 0
      Cubs : 0 | 04 | 0

      Pitching:

      Mets:
      Santana: 6 IP, 1 BB, 11K
      Heilman: 1 IP, 0 BB, 1K
      Wagner: 2 IP, 0 BB, 2K

      Cubs:
      Zambrano: 7 IP, 1 BB, 8K
      Dempster: 2 IP, 0 BB, 2K

      Scoring:
      Beltran: RBI Single
      Delgado: 2 HR, 4 RBI
      Alou: 1 HR, RBI
*Beltran also scored while on 3rd on an errant throw to second on a steal attempt.

I like the general feel of these sliders. Going up against Santana & Zambrano might not be the best test though. I'm going to use Washington/Florida next and I'll post the results.

Distance is shown in the auto replay but not every single homerun wil replay automatically.

Well I just played my 1st game with these sliders, and I don't know what the hell I did wrong. I still can't HRs but the CPU sure can. Plenty of doubles for each, and only a total of 5 Ks.

          CHC (ME) @ BAL

          CHC - 7 17 0
          BAL - 16 18 1

I bought this game a few days ago, but still haven't played it yet...I'm waiting to see what the "final" sliders look like before attempting this game. I never purchased this game last year as I've kept playing MVP 2005 for the regular xbox (eamods.com roster updates). I'm beginning to wonder if I should have even bought this game...

In my humble opinion, it is not a bad game. Some technical flaws and what not, but if you find the right slider set based on your liking, I believe this game can be as good of a baseball game as any out there. By the way MVP 2005, probably never going to be anything like it again!

As much as I do not want to agree with the above post (OH-IO, Go Bucks! haha)... He is right... this is a pretty good game when you get the right set of sliders and get the pitching down.

I am assuming the patch will fix a couple of the other bugs, but I would not let people's complaining keep you from trying the game out and deciding for yourself.

Haha I have no problems with Buckeye fans. I imagine the Buckeye nation will dislike every Michigan Wolverine fan, alumni, ect even more after Tyrelle Pryor announces his plans on coming to U of M and beating the Bucks for 4 straight years!

Well... as much as I don't want to burst your bubble... It looks like Pryor is going to annoucne this week where he is going and it is going to be between Ohio State and.... Penn State (where QB's go to die). I would not at all be surprised if he ends up with JoePa...

Well, at least with Rich Rodriguez up North, things might get interesting for a few years.

I Just have to say that I think as time goes by, MVP baseball's legend keeps growing and growing, whether justified or not. Was it really that good? I liked it a lot (I still own it since its a classic), but it had a lot wrong with it too, we just look at it nostalgically now I think like we do NHL 94 95 of the Sega Days or NFL 2K5 (which although very good, had its flaws as well). I agree with you MLB 2K8 is not a bad game at all and if they patch some issues it would be a very solid game, and in my opinion even better than MVP 2005.

For ball and strike ratio you have to have the AI corner higher....if pitchers are aiming for corners more often they will sometime miss...notice if you put AI Corner at 0 they still hit corners....if theyre aiming for corners they will miss off the plate...
Also has anyone tried taking inside edge off for pitchers? If its based on their real life counterpart that pitcher might not throw balls....but if you put throw strikes down to 0....and take off inside edge they will play like a general pitcher...but harder pitchers will still be tuff because their rating is still high....

The reason MVP 2005 is a legend its because it was doing things 3-4 yrs ago that games now a days have to try and fit into a game....or consider inovative...MVP was missing the presentation and beautiful stadiums...but nailed player animations and gameplay which is all that matters really....and these guys cant do neither...

MLB 2K8 is a solid game....very solid with fixes....but MVP 2005 played a realistic game for me out the box....why cant this be the same for a next gen game?

when i played right out of the box, i remember seeing this. but since switching to these sliders a day or two after that, i've never seen the distance displayed ever again (and can't find it anywhere in the game stats when pausing, unlike 2k7).

How come when I lower CPU infielder speed it goes back to custom-A? Am I doing something wrong? Because shouldn't that be doing that for everyone? Or is it supposed to do that?
