Re: The OS Breakdown of the 2K Slider Theory

OK everyone, I just got home from work. I will be re-posting the sliders with better directions. I will using +/- in reference to # of clicks from where the DEFAULT LEGEND Slider is.

This should make it easier for everyone to set the sliders & hopefully people will be getting more unified & accurate stats...

Gimme a couple of hours ad I need to spend some time with family...

I love the work you've been doing and am anxious for your update, but for God's sake man it is a game! Spend time with the fam and update when you can.
My Friend Chris owns me in 2k8. Seriously, I suck.

hehe, true. Unfortunately I suffered through 2k7 and the whole slider fiasco, so I can mess with the framework Joe has left for at least a little while. Just a little while.

So maybe a goodnight kiss and short bedtime story then back to the sliders!

Some quick feedback. I would look into the AI pitcher Fatigue slider a little more. It seems at 75 the CPU is pulling pitchers around the 65-75 pitch mark even if they're throwing a shutout or a no hitter for that matter.

I think right around 60 would probably work.

If you're having a lot of low scoring games keep working on that Total Control slider. For me personally, with the setting at 20 I can hit every spot. It's just too easy.

I started a game today with Rich Hill and the Cubs at the Cardinals and I was cruising into the 7th with only 57 pitches of which 43 were strikes.

I then started a game in Cincinnati with Arroyo against the Brewers and the TCP slider at 45. Weeks hit the first pitch (meatball) out. Hardy hit a double, I walked Braun, hit Fielder, and Hall hit a GS. Different story huh?

Is anyone having the CPU plunk a lot of batters. I don't know if it's just Phillies mets but I started my second game with these with a couple small tweaks. My power and total control pitchin a tad harder.

Santana plunked the first 2 batters and was ejected. LOL

                  2. i agree. i have mine at 35 right now, and am still finding it a little too easy for the most part (at least until later in the game when stamina has dropped). might bump this up to 40 or so shortly.

all in all, these sliders are a hell of a lot better than the original ones that were posted. i'm happy with them now that i've tweaked a few of 'em slightly to my liking.
What do you have your human power on, I can't seem to keep the ball in the park. Last game I had 2 homers with Asdrubal Cabrera and a 3 run homer with both Garko and Vmart. I also have 10 HR's with hafner through mid April.

Also, what do you have your CPU at my team ERA is 2.79 with these sliders and i even bumped the total control to 40 earlier.

Do you guys think the outfielders speed is too slow? Seems to take forever to get to a ball. What should i bump up to increase this?

Having the CPU pitch settings at 0 causes this and is too low IMO. Especially when you get deeper into the rotation with the 3-4-5 pitchers, a setting of 0 on the throw strikes gets you too many balls, wild pitches, and hit batsmen.

sorry, i didn't take specific note of the changes i made. i'd say roughly 5-10 slots lower than what the hitting sliders are listed at here. try lowering the 'skill' somewhat before worrying too much about the 'power' slider. that should help you avoid the excess homers more than anything from what i can tell.

just finished a game using these sliders.

Final Score: Nationals (me) 4 Phillies (cpu) 1

                          Pitching stats
Win- Daniel Cabrera 8.0 innings pitched, 2 hits, 0 earned runs, 9 K's
Loss Kyle Kendrick 3.0 innings pitched, 1 earned run, 3 K's

Chad Cordero 1.0 inning pitched, 2 hits, 1 Run

                          Total K's Thrown: 9 (me) 6 (cpu)

Overall Comments: It felt like I had too much control with Cabrera. I was consistently painting the corners and only gave up 2 hits and walked one. What sliders should I adjust to make it more difficult to pitch/make the AI hit better. Hitting seems to be spot on as I managed 4 runs on 10 hits. 1 Homerun, 5 singles, 3 doubles, and a triple. Walks were pretty decent too, as I managed to work the count and draw 3. I'm going to play another game in my franchise against St. Louis and I'll see how that goes.

played a couple games with these sliders and i felt like the pitchin was way to easy and the hitting was easy too. i was just messing around wit santana and i struck out 10+ and i threw every pitch in the zone... a lot down the middle. they hit nothing. then on the hitting side i could hit a home run with any of the mets big guys basically when i wanted but for most the game i just felt like swinging at every pitch just to f*** around. i was just wonderin what people did to fix some of these thing??? hopefully the new update will fix some of these things!!

I agree. This needs to be looked at. In just 4+ innings against Glavine the Brewers have 2 triples and 3 doubles. I would say that one was legit.

The problem is that the CPU fielders are taking the worst angles to the ball off the bat. The last Triple by Jason Kendall was a line drive over second that landed about a third of the way into the outfield and rolled all the way top the wall.

Earlier in the game, Hardy hit a flyball to LC and the left fielder didn't move until the ball was halfway out there. He was standing there as if he lost the ball in the lights?

So the question is is this a speed or Reaction adjustment? Maybe both.

On a positive note these slider are playing very well, especially the pitching. I have the TCP setting to where it's just tough enough to pitch and I've had some great and fair battles with this tough Brewer lineup. The take settings and AI hitting settings have been nailed IMO. Great job OS!

Move the Total Control Pitching slider to about 40 and see what happens. I had to do this as well. If that's too easy, move it up again.
