wow all i can say is wow, i finally start my franchise, using joe's opening day sliders (which i think r great, very realistic stats)

Anyways, i play my first game against the orioles. CC is dominating all game, Well during the 4th and 5th innings, there were 2 popups, very routine, and both my fielders let the ball hit them on the head, very frustrating especially since i was throing one hit ball and losing 2-0.

in the top of the 9th i hit a 2 out 2run hr to tie it with nady off of their closer sherrill...i was pumped fpr that...

this is where i am pissed, in the top of the 10th i lead off with a grounder and then a liner back to the pitcher, so two outs and Bret Gardner comes to the plate for me, i hit a pop up to 2nd base and Roberts let's the ball hit him off the head, i get to first and the ball is still not picked up, the cpu would not pick it up, i repeat the cpu would not pcik it up...what a joke, so i win my gfirst game on an inside the park HR because the only way to get to the next batter is if i scored...not a way i wanted to win my first fanchise game, i guess i will have to take it...

Joe, in regards to the user release timing influence slider; I use classic pitching, so the more I increase this slider the more accurate Id have to be on my second press (when the circle is decreasing) in order to hit my spots?

How does the hold timing influence work? i know it has somehting to do with the circle getting large, but not sure which way it works.

BFJ, or anyone else...

I'm averaging 8 runs on 14 hits through 2 games vs Baltimore and 1 vs KC.

It's tough to tell if my settings are too easy, because I am playing horrible teams with horrible pitching.

My user sliders for hitting are:
Success: 60
Contact: 50
Power: 70

Don't know what other sliders should be listed...I am getting a good variety of hits though, with 6 HR in those 3 games. I'm pleased with the USER pitching and AI hitting, for they can hit me and score runs, while also I can strike them out. I just really need to tone down the USER offense just a bit...not too much lol. Thanks guys.

These are good sliders, except I toned down AI success down from 65 to 60 because I was giving up alot of hits.

I am playing as the Cubs in my franchise and have started out 0-4 basically due to my difficulty of hitting. I am using your opening day sliders. Pitchers like:

Braden Looper: 8 IP, one hit allowed
Wandy Rodriguez
Mike Hampton

are shutting me down. I am getting an ok amount of hits, but not able to manufacture runs from them. If I want to increase hitting just a bit, what slider should I adjust? Batting Success? (increase from 50 to 55?) Batting Contact?

BTW anyone else finding this game very CPU Friendly? I can't win a game @ all. Seems like the CPU hits everything & is pitching like CY Young. Did I create FRANKENSTEIN with this last set? or do I just sux...

Why not lower your AI success for batting, because that is pretty unrealstic for the Yanks.

For me your AI hitting sliders are too high. Im playing with AI success at 55, contact 10, power 100 and I am getting a good mix of games. Ive been pelted by the higher rated offenses some games and I've also shut them down. The only team I have had consistent trouble stopping are the red sox but they are a good offense..

Our hitting sliders are identical except i have contact at 15, this is very challenging for me too but ill stick with them because it forces me to use the left stick properly (pull inside pitches, take outside pitches the otherway), draw walks and manufacter runs. I rather have it a little on the hard side then on the easy side. I use classic hitting

Yeah I'm getting shelled too by CPU batting. I think CPU batting success should be lowered from 65 to around 55 and maybe also lower Batting contact a little as well.

As for me and hitting, it's weird. I am getting plenty of hits, just not scoring runs. For example, I just played a game, 17 hits, 3 runs. Maybe I'm just not getting the hits in the clutch.

AI isn't crushing my pitching (which is vitrually the same as BFJ's, w/ slight mods), but it is hitting decently well. Just go back a few pages and try my set...might help.

I tried your set and scored 18. 16 and 21 runs in the 3 games I played.
Are you not killing the cpu with your set???
