Batting Success: 55

I hit 2 home runs 1 with Konerko the other with Chipper Jones and my weaker guys are hitting a bit harder.

I also threw 105 pitches against the CPU and still able to get looking K's

I will continue to play more games before I decide on this change because 1 game won't tell the truth.

I had a question. Are you guys using the influance stick to influance the balls or are you having success without using it?

SF- Do you sometimes get blow out's with your sliders? I am playing as the phillies and just started my franchise. I playing game 1 against atlanta and I am in the 5th in an I am up 6-0 with 10 hits to atlantas 4. Do you get games like this sometimes?

Hey SF: I used batting power at 80; and the success at what you originally had it set with your sliders and the directional at 50 (gotta use directional it doesn't feel like I'm controlling enough with just the swing stick by itself.)

That was when I won 20-2 and lesser power players did go deep (Jeff Keppinger, Ramon Hernandez). But the power guys were going deep left and right like it was their job. Hammering pitches that weren't just down the middle. just my experience with it.

The hit direction influence slider has a big impact on the way you hit. I moved it up to 50 also cuz i liked directing my hit but i was crushing the ball. I always held up and got either a fly ball out or home run. With it at 0 you see a lot more hit variety like grounders and liners and there is much less power.

I am having good results with these sliders. I still hit a lot of doubles in the gap and homers here and there but power might need to be boosted up. I get a lot more hit variety with the hit direction slider at 0. The AI hitting is also good and i have had them hit home runs at a very realistic rate for me. These sliders are working out very well. Thank you for saving the game! lol

Oh i also play with pitch speed at 100 because it just seems like everything else is too slow. You get used to it in a hurry though.

The only thing i am concerned with is the hits to runs ratio. It always seems like the AI will have maybe like 12 hits but only 2 runs. Yes they do hit for power some of the time but most of their hits are singles (unless theres an outfield fielding glitch haha). I usually get a more realistic ratio though as I am able to get extra base hits. Mine is usually around 8 or 9 hits with 4 or 5 runs.

I turn my power up to 80 from the original sliders and had my first homer run. I think 80 is where you have to be

i started out with Joe's sliders...then tried these(v.03)...and then went to Guru's...now i'm back here.

i've had 4 excellent and varied games with this set. very realistic feeling games/stats. challenging ball. i have my pitch speed at 90 also.

I just played a game with BFJ's, which has:

AI Strike Zone Tendency: 10<O></O>
AI Pitch Zone Tendency: 25

I was getting 3-0 counts on nearly every batter and David Price had thrown 52 pitches in 2.1 innings. There was maybe 1 first pitch strike in my first 20 ABs. How can you have even lower strike/pitch tendencies??

Seems unrealistic to me, anyone else have this problem?

My first 2 games gave me a nice variation of close game situations. My 3rd game ended in a 20-3 blowout, where I had 2 homeruns with Jayson Heyward, 3 with Hafner, and 6 RBI's with Manny Ramirez.

Note that I also don't use the left stick to influence hits. The 2 homeruns with Heyward were dead center (one cleared by at least 20 feet while the other one barely made it over). Hafner pulled one down the line, one to deep left-center, and one upper deck shot to right-center.

I like the variation in hits / homeruns, lets just hope it isn't that easy too often lol.

not really. i got plenty of AI first strike pitches. i usually do not swing at the first ball and i saw plenty of strikes. BFJ's were fun sliders, but felt too easy & offense-happy for me. it seemed the average pitch count between us was around the 80's with these sliders.

I did the following in my Braves Dynasty, made human and CPU sliders same for these 3 batting sliders and changed pitch speed also, everything else the same as first page sliders:

Batting Success: 40
Batter Contact: 5
Batter Power: 80
Pitch Speed: 90

I play one game of each series, dont have time to play all games, first game against Phillies:

Phillies - 7 runs - 9 hits
Braves - 4 runs - 7 hits
They hit me good, including two homers for 4 of their runs. I had a 3 run shot by newly aquired Adam Dunn. All in all realistic feeling game.

Braves - 4 runs - 8 hits
Nationals - 0 runs - 4 hits
4 hit shutout by pitching staff, Hudson went 2 innings until he injured his finger, Acosta went midway, and Soriano finished it. Another realistic feeling game.

My pitch counts for both games over 100, computers have been in 80-90 range, Iam a agressive swinger, need to be more patient.

Will post more results tonight.
