    Re: mkharsh33's sliders

yeah, but i'm still not walking anyone...this just proves my point. fix one problem with one slider, then open a gaping hole with another. if the pitchers never get rattled, then what's the point? when you watch real baseball, composure is a HUGE part of the game, especially late.

but the dumbarses at 2k linked this slider attribute to the ENTIRE team...so, even with with errors at "0" they still make stupid plays - ie. dropping easy fly balls. that just does NOT happen (well, unless you're trevor crowe...if you saw the white sox game last week you'll know the reference).

i don't want pitching to get easier...without the composure factor, i can throw strikes all day long, even with the other pitching values made harder.

i just hate this game...sorry, but i just don't think i can do this any longer. but i appreciate your thoughts here - they've been helpful.

did I forget to tell you that even if composure is at 0, the pitcher still gets affected by game situations. pitchers with low composure still get rattled. The ball vibrating still happens.
Its just that pitchers that have good composure works out of jams more efficiently.
Again, the team boneheadedness is gone. if you noticed with Composure set to a higher number, all the pitchers have a tendency to throw wild pitches in key situations way too often, the fielding becomes horrendous.

wild pitches are still thrown just not as frequently. A top notch pitcher is less likely to throw wild pitches. you have to pay more attention with weaker pitchers.

Id say play about 5-10 games with composure at 0. youll definetly see the beauty begin to shine.

Im enjoying this game now without the frustration. everything is so balanced. and read the decoding the sliders post and implement that logic into your sliders. it works. youll get what your looking for.

thanks for your feedback! i'll give the composure a look...and i also am re-reading your post about decoding the sliders... i'm just really frustrated with this game. i love baseball but it's one of those sports that has to have a simulation feel for me to enjoy it. 2k has ruined this game...

but, they could still save it by patching a few things. it's as if our voices do not matter to them. i can honestly say i won't be picking up this title next year unless it appears they fix the issues. maybe we should have a town hall meeting with them...

            Re: mkharsh33's sliders

I don't know about you guys, but playing as the Braves I pitch out of jams with ease. I need the pitcher composure slider higher so I actually give up runs. I see too many games where the lines are like 2 runs 12 hits, 3 runs 13 hits, etc. I scatter hits like a champ. Then again the Braves have good pitching.

yeah...that's my point. with pitching composure lowered, like you, it's just too easy for me.

i am just going to run with composure (user) at 90, scale it down from there (depending on what i see happening) and grin and bear it...

do you use pin point pitching or the break pitch? I found pin point too easy.

                    Re: mkharsh33's sliders

Fresh slider's you got, similar to mine. I've been having good success with having computer's contact and success a little higher. Around 60-65 for both work's for me. Good idea on the 0 contact may give that a run.

Been getting a lot of hit's lately, scored 6 runs, 13 runs, 11 run's last 3 games (which is unusual). Cody Ross just started a franchise for me 8-for-9 with 4 RBI.

Had to get rid of an Indians chise and start a new one, too many trades they made.

                    Good work though MK.

some house rules I use when pitching, I throw to my catchers mitt wherever he puts it, lets me throw some balls that way and get deeper counts, if I have a crap catcher that cant call a game then its on them :P

^^ I tend to do this also about 90% of the time. but sometimes the catcher will call for a pitch that seems inappropriate and Ill just call that pitch off.
I didnt view this as playing by house rules. The catcher calling for pitches is part of the game. that's the trust factor between pitcher and catcher.

thats a good question to bring up though.

Are people allowing the catcher to call the game or do you all turn that feature off?

i keep it on its more realistic but if they call for a fastball inside for albert pujols then i will call him off and relocate the pitch

wondering if you have batters eye and zone hitting turned on or off

also do you have release timing on or off?

i think that release timing is on (but i can't recall).
