Re: OS & BFJ Breakdown of the 2K10 Slider Theory...
I hear ya. But I use swing stick and belt homers left and right with 50 power. I also have pitch speed bumped up to 80. I had to put my power down to 35. I use the white sox and CQ was hitting 2 a game.Comment

Re: OS & BFJ Breakdown of the 2K10 Slider Theory...
The worst part about this game for me is the pitching is so damn easy. I have the meter speed jacked to 100 and I just paint corners left and right. I turn the strike zone box off as well. There needs to be more of a negative effect if I even miss the max pitch by the slightest margin. I'm not sure what else I can do to help make User pitching harder. I get about 10 SO's a game, sometimes more. I just don't know how to fix this. It is the same thing every year with total control pitching. I have been able to throw the ball wherever I please. As fun as TC Pitching is, it just isn't fun for me because its so easy. I almost wish they would incorporate meter pitching like in MVP, as one of the pitching options just so it would be a challenge for people who have too easy a time with TC or for that matter who prefer Meter.
Maybe if I bump up CPU contact they may not SO as much on pitches inside the strike zone and it will force me to pitch out of the Strike zone to get K's thus leading to me making more pitches. Maybe it will even lead me into issuing walks.
If anyone has any suggestions on making user pitching harder let me know! If I can somehow figure out a way to do this, it will make this game a lot better. I am having an absolute blast with this game. There aren't any issues like last year that tick me off so much I stop playing the game. I think after patch 1 this game can only get better.NHL-Minnesota Wild

For whatever reasons my pitches seem to end up to the left of where I want them to go (the pitchers left). I kind of wonder if it's because my xbox is to the right of me and I'm to the left of it instead of being straight in front of it. I know this sounds wierd but bear with me. My TV is mounted above the fireplace and the fireplace has built in cabinents/shelves on either side of it. The xbox is on a shelf to the right of the fireplace. When i sit on the couch, I'm left of the xbox and for some reason my pitches seem to always go left.
Am I just paranoid or is there something to this?GamerTag: Blazzen85

Re: OS & BFJ Breakdown of the 2K10 Slider Theory...
Good Morning Everyone. Here is my theory on the Throw Meter. IT'S BROKENThe meter IMO is not working like it's supposed to. Anything outside of the Green Zone (BTW can't wait for this movie) should cause a variable throw. This isn't happening meaning no real penalty for going past the GREEN, especially with infielders.
So I tested this @ 0 & found that with a Fielder Speed of 25, not only are the fielding animations more life-like, especially IF Animations the User now feels of a sense of urgency when they pre-load there throws because the meter takes a little longer to get to the sweet spot.
I'm currently playing with the throw meter at the default pro setting and it doesn't feel broken to me. Throws in the red are bad and innacurate throws as they should be...I think putting it at 100 may make it even more so, but putting it at 0 seems like it would almost ignore the throw meter completely. That's just the impression I get, though I haven't tried changing it yet, so I may be wrong.Last edited by jeffy777; 03-05-2010, 04:45 PM.Comment

Most people don't like to throw out of the zone. This is why I ALWAYS use Catcher Suggestions. Look at my pitching stats in this thread and you can see why it works for me.Comment

Re: OS & BFJ Breakdown of the 2K10 Slider Theory...
What I would recommend if it's that easy to hit spots is to jack up the CPU hitting sliders to the point where you almost fear pitching in the strike zone. This will force you to start looking at the hitter's Inside Edge report (if you don't do that already) and be a little more focused for each batter because if you hit spots as well as you say you are I would think the game is getting stale.

As for Inside Edge I don't use it. I find that since pitching is so easy to me already that IE would just make it that much easier. Also it would give me more of a sense where the strike zone is because the highlighted box is around the corner of the plate. I could be wrong on that so maybe I'll try it out. Hell without the strike zone box on right now I'm still easily finding the corners.
And as to this game getting stale. YES it is. It's really pissing me off because the game is really very good besides the pitching. Not many people have the pitching problem though. I had started a thread a couple months back asking people if they would prefer 2k to add a pitching meter style like what was in MVP (and for that matter the other game). I got a lot of responses as no they shouldn't. It seems to me that a lot of people find TC pitching difficult. If 2k can find a way to make this harder it would be awesome. If they can't then I really wish they would add a meter style while still keeping the more enjoyable TC pitching. TC pitching and hitting is what seperates 2k from the other game.
Maybe the fact that the only other game I'm good at is NHL 10 makes pitching too easy in this game. I'm so used to using the left and right sticks that it could be the reason. I suck at all of the button games ie. COD and Halo- but then again I really only play hockey, football, and baseball games since those three sports control my life!NHL-Minnesota Wild

Re: OS & BFJ Breakdown of the 2K10 Slider Theory...
Yeah these are Swing Stick aka Total Control. This also goes for Pitching. therizing02 I have been thinking about dropping User Power. I was thinking 35 would be ideal. As for the AI Pitch Success/Strike Zone Tendencies I'm gonna move these back towards 50. It seems like both these in the 40's will work better as the AI Pitchers are really coded nicely when in Pro.
What I'm struggling with is Pitcher Fatigue. This is a GLOBAL Slider & since the AI Manger Logic seems broken when it comes to removing a pitcher due to fatigue I have been struggling with this, because the higher you put-it the faster your pitcher fatigues = terrible pitch counts..Comment

I'm not walking anybody. In order to have realistic counts, I pitch to the catcher's suggestion almost exclusively. I throw out of the zone a lot that way.Comment

Re: OS & BFJ Breakdown of the 2K10 Slider Theory...
Anyway I shouldn't get this slider thread off topic. Sorry to everyone for that. Now back to the slider talk! BTW I will try moving some sliders around to see if I can make pitching harder. I will let everyone know if I find a solution so that anyone who thinks pitching is too easy can try em out.NHL-Minnesota Wild

What would I have to do to turn down the CPU hits? The Twins just hit 14 off of me, and I believe the league average is around 9.Comment

BFJ, with pitch speed at 75 I always get a "very late swing" warning, what camera do you use? If it's a matter of camera, or my reflexes are too slow....Comment

Re: OS & BFJ Breakdown of the 2K10 Slider Theory...
BTW has anyone confirmed the runs credited to wrong pitchers and RBI's on sac flys credited to wrong players as an actual stat glitch or just a graphical glitch......I believe last year or maybe 2 years ago when you looked at box scores after ur season games there would be errors but when you looked at your stats in player stats after the game all would be right...has anyone figured this out yet by any chance??Comment
