Re: Holy Grail of Sliders for MLB 2k10

Still using these Bulls. They still play a very addictive, fun game of ball. I am 40 games into my season and currently sit at 26-14.

So after 40 games with your sliders, here are some stats

    Team Leader

    Hr Soriano 13
    2nd Ramirez 8

    RBI Soriano 34
    2nd Ramirez 27

    SB Theriot 9
    2nd Fukudome 7

Avg Ramirez .446 ( the guy just never gets out )
    2nd Soriano .376

    Team Avg .313

    Pitching

    Wins Wells 4-1
    2nd Dempster 3-1

    ERA Dempster 2.86
    2nd Wells 3.14

    Team ERA 3.84

    Saves Marmol 14

    Strikeouts Zambrano 86

The Biggest issue is still the avg's, but I can live with that. I am afraid if I lower anything, It will affect my homeruns, and I am already next to last in the league anyways. I an now drawing a walk a game, with 4 walks in 1 game as the high point. Ramirez already has 9 walks for the year...I consider that a win for me.

Haven't seen a reason to update for a while as you and others seem to enjoy them. Glad you're having fun. Will see what patch 2 does to the game before I adjust anything else.

I've been giving these sliders a break for a while and have been playing with my "Trading Cards" sliders. You and others are welcome to try those also and unlock some cards.

props for these sliders, man. After getting this game a few days ago and just trying it out on Pro, just used these sliders and had a good game, lost 9-5 to the D'Backs and it was a good battle. Think i'll be using these for my franchise.

OK, after playing several more games with these sliders, having some real trouble with some bad trends:

          - Every game has pretty much been 1-0 or 2-1, not many runs being scored
          - Way too many hits overall (feels like there's usually at least 8 or 9 hits for both teams)
          - Too many K's overall (I think the last game I played had at least 10 K's for both teams)
          - Hardly any extra base hits

Any slider tweak suggestions? Been pretty boring to play this game the last few times out, not sure if I just need to improve or play different or something.

8-9 hits per team isn't "way too many." It's actually almost perfect compared to last season in baseball...where the worst hitting team had 8.11 hits per game, and the best had 9.9.

Turning the CPU's contact up (mine's at 50) will fix the strikeout problem, you can top off the power meter for both sides...not gonna be a huge difference between 95 and 100 anyway. To make it harder to pitch you can turn the pitch meter speed up to 100.

If you're having trouble hitting, upping your contact some as well as lowering the Pitch Speed slider (its on the human side, but it controls both sides I think), and lowering AI Pitch Success which will make them throw a fer fatter pitches.

Just gotta keep tweaking until you find a set that feels right for you imo.

Hey I just bought the sliders and used these sliders. I am still in Spring Training but **** man I cant hit a Homer to save my life! I tried classic and total control. How do you know you are hitting a power swing on classic?

First game (using the Rangers) I got my but kicked 15-0 but I was learning. Next game was 4-1 L, 5-2 L. I got a W finally against KC 5-4. I went 13 innings against the Giants and lost 2-1. But really I CANNOT hit the deep ball!!!!! HELP!

For those of you wondering what you can use for total control hitting and using the power swing I have my power at 50. It seems like I get the normal amount of homeruns for both power hitters, and contact hitters alike.

So you are not using "classic" and your power is at 50?

I kind of like the Total Control thing better but I have read on here that the classic gets you better hit variety. So far I get alot of grounders using classic but i dont know wtf I am doing.

I may have missed it, but does it matter what difficulty you're playing on? If so, what difficulty were these sliders made for? Pro is my assumption but wanted to make sure.

Correct. I am not a big fan of classic, but it is all personal preference. I also changed the computer to 40 contact and 100 power. With that the computer has hit a couple of HR's off of me. With those two batting changes I have had a variety of games; I have lost 3-0, won 3-0, won 10-9 so far with the Tigers.

I played a game against the Cubs (Ted Lilly starting) as the Braves. The hit totals weren't bad at all. I had 12, the Cubs had 8. The strikeouts were a bit much. The Cubs had 12, but honestly 5 of those were at the end of the game when I wasn't paying as much attention anymore, and against Sean Marshall who I always struggle against. I had 13 k's - 8 by Lowe in 6 innings, 2 by Moylan, 1 by Saito, 2 by Wagner in 1 inning each.

The big problem was hr's. I hit 5 of them. McCann hit 2 2-run shots off of Lilly and Samardzija, Heyward hit a 2-run shot off of Lilly and a solo hr off Samardzija, and Glaus hit a 3-run HR shot as well. I also had two doubles. I'm definitely going to have to lower my power some and see how that goes, and maybe raise the cpu contact a bit.

So far I am 2-0 in my Indians franchise. I just got done sweeping the White Sox at Comerica Park. My pitching has done very well. Westrbook went 6 innings in game 1 and Carmona went 8 in game 2. In the first game I was down 3-0 entering the 8th inning and I got a 3 run homer with 2 outs to tie it at 3. In the 9th I had homers by Halfner and Branyan to win the game 5-3.

In game 2, I jumped on Beurle in the 3rd. Choo came through again with a 3 run double to give me the lead 3-0. I got an homer by Santana to give me a 4-1 lead. I ended up winning the game 4-2. Wood got his 2nd save.

In game 2, Bueley went the full 9 innings and his pitch count was like 110. I have noticed that the computer is not very patient at the plate. I have not gone over 100 pitches so far. In the first game, I only threw 1 ball with Westbrook through 4 innings! I have my pitch meter speed at 55. How do I get the CPU to be more patient at the plate?

Upped Player Fielder Speed to 45, left CPU at 40. Feel CPU runs faster than User.
