Any help here? What are you all doing?

I either get a strike out, a lazy ground out to any infielder, a pop out, or a single.
kc, I don't use classic hitting. If you're having trouble lower pitch speed a click or 2. Also remember the hitting system is Timed Based. It's all about timing

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching

I will have some new updates that I've been working on. Some of you may not like it, as they will be "animation" driven. The two most notable changes will be:

      - lower user infield speed to 5, while putting the cpu's at 15
      - raise user outfield speed to 15, while putting cpu's at 5

The problem with this game is largely animations... With putting the pitch speed back at 75, it increases the speed of the ball and it really makes the outfield animations look warped.

In a game I played the other day, the Diamondbacks got 5 triples off me (before these changes) because of the animations. All the balls were hit to the right field corner, and my RF was in those "stuck in the mud" animations where the kink in that stadium is in right field. Your user OF's will automatically run a bit slower than the cpu's, so these two adjustments become key. You will still get balls to shoot up the middle for the user, as well as hitting them past the SS and 2B, but if you keep that low you'll simply get too many of them.

The 5 infield speed might scare you, but in my 3 test games last night, I saw some great plays made by those who should, and also saw a poorly rated infielder not able to get to the ball.

Again, if you're content where you are just let these pass by...I'll have them up later today sometime.

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching

Thanks for the replies.... I seem to hit ok. I mean after 12 games our team average is around .223, which isn't bad. It isn't great, but it isn't that unrealistic. So i am getting hits, and I spray the ball around, but it never finds gaps in OF. It either is a roller hit right to them, or they get to it. Never any gap shots, or anything over their head. I have gotten 10 doubles in 11 games, with one of those games having about 4. So those are padded. I have 5 HR's total. 3 with Hosmer, and 2 with Gordon. Nobody else has even came close. My point is... The only doubles I get are from hits that are just down 3rd base line, or 1st base line, that I stretch into doubles. I never have any gap shots, or one hoppers to the wall. I also have 0 triples. If it's a timing only issue, then I have no problem with that, as I like the idea of having to work to get better. I was just curious as if I was doing something different than the majority..(left stick) etc... Again...I love the sliders, and thanks for the input.

Reds (me) vs. Cardinals (CPU). I still for the life of me can't figure out what the deal is with user power. Just everything hit is a weak groundball. I haven't hit a HR in 10-15 games. It's almost like my game got secretly patched (it didn't) or my controller is messed up lol.

Yeah, I think we're gonna have to raise user batting CONTACT to 35. I don't think the issue is user power, as I don't want to see too many HR's. But I don't think we're making solid enough contact. In my game last night I was hitting a lot of weak stuff. These sliders make you to have to get it PERFECTLY on the bat, and I think we've made it a bit too hard.

I worked on NBA 2K11 rosters today and am now watching hockey. I'll have a new update late tonight (hopefully) with the latest changes.

Interesting, I might just do that with contact and see how it goes.

Also, I see what you mentioned about your diamondbacks game all the time. The poor animations allow the CPU to get easy triples if the ball is hit in the right spot when it should only be a double. You could raise arm strength like last year, but that would only allow you to throw runners out. I think your on the right track though with run speed.

Yea, I upped that contact to 35 and the hitting felt better. Even though I didn't score many runs, I still managed to get some good hits and even the grounders felt better. It wasn't like batting with a wet noodle lol.

Sorry...didn't get around to playing this game last night. I worked on NBA 2K11 rosters for the 2011-2012 season most of the night, doing one last file update for that game (which came out unbelievable!!). But I'll get after this sometime soon. My in-laws are flying down here to Florida from Philly, so I wouldn't expect anything until maybe Monday.

WOW I made the changes you were talking about and I had a very very enjoyable game! Lost 3-2 to the Boston red sox as the Toronto blue jays. I had 5 hits with my 2 runs coming from and RBI double and an RBI groundouts.
Boston had 8 hits with their 3 runs coming from an RBI double and a 2 run shot.

                    The changes I made were:
User OF speed to 15, IF speed to 5, contact to 35
CPU OF speed to 5, IF speed to 15

Just played another one and lost 7-4 to the Baltimore orioles. 2 of my 4 runs however came in the bottom of the 9th. Frustrating game offensively for me.

Sliders are nice! For those of you who use the swing stick, when do you swing for power vs contact?

                        Thanks!

I don't see the AI batting sliders at all. Whenever I set the contact and power up that high teams like Seattle tee off on my pitchers (Texas, but with a much better pitching staff than real life due to trades I made. My starting rotation: Beachy, Jaime Garcia, Feliz, Luebke and Chacin), don't swing at anything even a ball barely out of the zone, never strike out and have an astronomical ratio of extra base hits to singles, extra base hits always outnumbering singles in every game. Even if I let the AI control my pitchers the same results occur so it isn't anything I'm doing. In 5 games I have tried today we have thrown NO strikeouts and have been outscored 47-14, by SEATTLE. I played 5 games to give each starter a shot to see what would happen. Each one got clobbered. Then I tried letting the AI play a few and the results were just as bad. I mean, really.

That's not his sliders mang. I think that's your pitching. I get my fair share of strikeouts for sure. But you may be right about XBH's outnumbering singles.

Just played an awesome, awesome game with the edited sliders. ( User contact at 35, IF speed at 5 and OF speed at 15,/ CPU IF speed at 15 and OF speed at 5)

Won 7-5 with the Blue Jays over the Orioles. Was down basically the whole game until I had a 3 spot in the bottom of the 8th to take the lead. The game felt amazing!

                              My Pitchers:
                              Starter(Kyle Drabek) : 5.2 IP, 7 Hits, 5 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 3 HR
                              Bullpen: 3.1 IP, 3 Hits, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 0 HR
                              .657 Strike Percentage

                              Their Pitchers:

Just played another game. This time I got dominated by good pitching. I lost 2-1 as the Blue Jays against the Rays. So to the guy saying CPU hitting is way too overpowered, I just (almost) shut down the Rays roster with a 73 overall pitcher.

                                My Pitchers:
                                Starter(Dustin McGowan) : 8.0 IP, 5 Hits, 2 ER, 1 BB, 8 K, 2 HR
                                Bullpen: 1.0 IP, 1 Hit, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 0 HR
                                .646 strike percentage

                                Their Pitchers:
                                Starter(David Price) : 8.0 IP, 5 Hits, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, 1 HR
                                Bullpen: 1 IP, 1 Hit, 0 ER, 1 K, 0 HR
                                .745 strike percentage

                                My Batters:
                                4 singles, 1 double, 1 HR

                                Their Batters:
                                3 singles, 1 double, 2 HR, 1 Error
